Improv Zombie Scene

Recommended Posts

Every New Year’s Eve for the past several years, Lilith and her soul sister Novi have rung out the old year at a kids’ dance party. This year, they spent a little time doing Zombie Improv before the party started.

Pink grapefruit brains, honeyed cerebral fluid, and a splash of sparkling apple cider.

This is aaaaaaaaal about the grapefruit in the bottle. Once I put it on however the apple cider comes out to play, along with a stunningly gorgeous floral I can't quite identify. It's reading like a white floral, but not at all soapy or sharp, just lush and beautiful and a tad spicy. Plumeria maybe? I'm not getting a ton of honey from this yet, but I think it's contributing to smoothing out that grapefruit so it doesn't go sharp. Perfectly balanced; perfectly stunning. Definitely back up bottle worthy, and may even topple Baobhan Sith from her spot as my favorite grapefruit scent.

definitely bright sparkling apples, honey playing along gently in the background, I agree about the possible floral note?

theres something soft and pink at the edges. I've never tried lab "brains" or "cerebral fluid" notes so i have no idea if that actually affects the scents. maybe the faintest hint of skin musk? there's something very soft in here.

and zero grapefruit on my skin. :<

he floral note is getting stronger. plumeria does seem a strong possibility.

sigh. the grapefruit quest continues.

In the Bottle:

Grapefruit and honey

On the Skin:

Grapefruit with the effervescent cider adding a slight winey note (very slight). This is so fun and bright. The honey emerges fairly quickly and is very obvious but melds with the grapefruit nicely.

On the Drydown:

Dries down to a honey tinged with bright grapefruit. The grapefruit lasts quite a while which is unusual on my skin. Ultimately, dries to a light sweetish honey tinge. Nice

A fake, candied grapefruit in the bottle which never reaches my skin, but that's what my skin does with citrus.

Goes on as sweet fizzzzzz!! Wet it's all sweet sliced apples, with perhaps a dash of vanilla rounding it out. The honey debuts here — it's the foodie honey, which is a little cloying on me, not the perfumy honey from Honeyed Apple. As it dries, there is absolutely a white floral note — I'm going to agree with the others upthread and say probably plumeria, maybe gardenia, but definitely not tuberose.

This is prettier than I expected but I was hoping for honey, apples, and fizz, and none of them stuck around. Oh well. Still a nice floral.

Wet: Grapefruit! More of a sour grapefruit note; almost artificial smelling. Very candy-like.

Dry: Still an artificially-sour grapefruit scent. I'm getting a hint of a honeyed floral note in the background, but I'm not sure what it is. Almost tropical, but that could just be with the combination of notes.

I like it, but I won't need to upgrade my decant to a bottle. ;)

This goes lovely and literal to the notes on me (well... as well as you can when cerebral fluid is one of the notes!) It is a beautiful, honeyed grapefruit, candied but still tart with a bunch of delicious apple cide in the background. The grapefruit mostly burns off leaving mostly honeyed, vaguely floral apple cider. So good! May need a backup.

Sparkling sugary apple cider with a whiff of grapefruit. Sweet, candy, fizzy. Medium throw and wear length.

In the decant: Pink grapefruit, honey, sparkling apple cider, and a hint of a floral note.

Wet: I get the pink grapefruit, the sparkling apple cider, and I think that the previous reviewers might be right about plumeria, as there’s a honeyed floral present that makes me think of C%^T from SDCC. This is definitely a pink scent. The grapefruit and sparkling cider started out being the most prominent notes, but the honeyed plumeria just keeps getting stronger over time.

Dry: Alas, the honeyed plumeria took over. I get some of the sparkling apple cider behind it, which ends up losing its effervescence after a while, and just a hint of the pink grapefruit in the background.

Verdict: I almost bought a blind bottle of this, but I am glad that I went the decant route instead. I was here for the grapefruit, but this ended up being mostly a honeyed floral scent on me. I don’t dislike it… it’s just not what I was hoping for.
