dementia_divine Report post Posted June 21, 2018 An ethereal vintage, steeped with dandelion, honey, and red currants. I do not use bath oils for their intended purpose, so this review is for the bath oil being tested on my skin. In the bottle, this is all about the wine and currants, although I can smell some honey and dandelion as well. On my skin, the wine and tart red currants are the most prominent notes. I can smell some dandelion in the background, but it isnt nearly as strong as those two notes. After a few minutes, the honey note emerges and becomes strong rather quickly, and I also get more dandelion along with it. Im getting more dandelion from this than I did from the perfume oil, but since I tested that at a convention, where my arms were covered with as many scents as possible, perhaps I just wasnt able to focus on it enough. After a while, the wine and currants remain as the most prominent notes, followed by the honey, and then some dandelion (and theres a lot more dandelion than before). I got more honey when I tried the perfume oil at Drag Con than I do from the bath oil version. The scent has been going strong for hours. This is far fruitier than I normally go for, but I wanted to get this in at least one form, and Im happy to have it as a bath oil. Id pair this with something with a wine or currant note (I could actually see this going well with Eat Me because the currant note is so strong on me). thekittenkat Report post Posted July 3, 2018 In the bottle: The grassy scent of the dandelion is sweetened somewhat by the honey and the red currants. Wet: Much the same as on cold sniff. The dry-down: The currants and honey move to the foreground. I think this will work nicely with many honey or currant scents. Please note that I use the bath oils as a lotion. This bath oil is thicker than some that I have had from the Post in the past. A little goes a long way! Also, the scent lasts longer on dry skin than applying it to freshly-showered skin that has been towel-dried somewhat.
roseus Report post Posted July 3, 2018 In the bottle I get the effervescent note I find it champagne scents like Bon Vivant, which I hadn't expected. Underneath I get a deep sweet fruitiness from the wine and currant, but not distinctly. On my skin this floats off. It becomes an intoxicating sweet berry wine, not cloying but just sweet enough to round the edges of the booziness and keep me coming back to sniff more. I don't have much experience with dandelion scents but I get just a hint of breezy grassiness that I think must be it. This stays strong but not overpowering, and the throw isn't very large either. Very lovely and now I want the perfume as well!
VetchVesper Report post Posted July 14, 2018 I got a frimp of the perfume of Fairy Wine a while back, and thought it was lovely. The bath oil smells a bit different to me though. Stronger on the red currant and less of the honey sweet dandelion that I really liked in the perfume. Perhaps the dandelion comes out more with age or just doesn't translate as well in bath oil form, but I can't quite fall in love with this one. :/ The bath oil is very much a honeyed wine scent to me, kind of along the lines of Athens. Pleasant, but swapable.
