As another Con season descends upon us (this year we’ll be at Midsummer Scream, Dragon Con, and NYCC), we at the Lab offer the following extra enticement to come visit our tiny, fragrant island of tranquility in the midst of those teeming masses. All it will cost is… your soul.

Just kidding, mostly! At our convention appearances and Los Angeles Lunacy events, you’ll find a gorgeous black tome on display, hand-crafted by McCall Company. Sign our tenebrous guestbook with your name and email address (plus any additional love notes), and not only will you receive our occasional email newsletter — you’ll be entered to win one free bottle of a scent that’s impossible to obtain any other way.

That’s right, the following blend will never be available for sale on Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s site.

BLACK BOOK Official Rules and Regulations

1. Only one entry (and email address) per person, per event. Duplicates will be fed directly to the flames.
2. If we can’t contact you, we can’t send you a prize. Please write legibly!
3. One winner will be randomly selected following each event, and publicly announced by the name written alongside their email address.
4. While all entries will be added to our email list, you may unsubscribe at any time.
5. Employees of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab or any of their respective entities, subsidiaries, and immediate families (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their spouses) and/or persons living in the same households as such persons of each are not eligible to enter.
6. The winning entry or entries will be selected in the sole discretion of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab. The Lab reserves the right to select one or more entries based on the quality of entries received. Entries will be judged on their overall narrative, as well as their potential for providing scent inspiration.
7. The Lab agrees to use all commercially reasonable efforts to provide credit in whatever format entrants request (i.e., real name, forum name, other pseudonym).
8. All applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. You are responsible for knowing the laws of your jurisdiction with respect to contest entry. The Black Book project and these rules will be governed, construed and interpreted under the laws of California. By entering, you agree to be bound by these rules and by the decisions of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, which are final and binding in all respects. Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab reserves the right to change these rules at any time, and in its sole discretion, and to suspend, cancel, postpone or extend the project. Individuals who violate or fail to comply with these rules, violate any law, rule or regulation in connection with participation in the application process, tamper with the operation of the entry process, or engage in any conduct that is detrimental or unfair to Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, the application process, any other applicants (in each case as determined in Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab’s sole discretion), are subject to disqualification.
