Amber and balsam peru with patchouli, blood orange, and rose geranium.

This was the luper that I was most excited for this year, because I adore geranium and patchouli. My only hesitation was with the blood orange, because citrus can go too sour on me, and I wanted this to be an herbal-spicy-rich-earthy-amber sort of fragrance. I thought that the other, heavier notes would overpower the citrus, but that is not the case.

In the bottle, I get creamy orange and nothing else.

On my skin, a big blast of sour, tart orange.

15 minutes later, still mostly orange, but I think I can pick out a sweet, smooth, chocolatey patchouli and dry, sandalwood-like wood notes. Sadly, I can't really pick out the rose geranium at all. I get none of its green spiciness. I don't get any green balsam notes either.

A half hour in, this is a barely there skin scent that's mostly baby powdery amber and a smear of sour orange.

My biggest hope of the Lupers this year is my biggest disappointment :(

Oh, man. I wanted to love this because four of five notes are bangin' awesome on me. Unfortunately, the one note that is not awesome on me destroys it. Of course it would work like that.

Everything but the balsam peru sings harmoniously together. And then that pesky note sticks out like a sore thumb. And it makes me so sad since I really wanted this one to work.

If you're into the rest of the notes and don't have a problem with balsam peru, then it should be a consideration for at least an imp somewhere.

Blood orange, geranium and a drop of patchouli. This is an orangey-geranium blend and part of me really loves this. Medium throw, low wear length.

This is a bright, citrusy blend, higher pitched than I expected. Tart orange and geranium are the main notes on me; I can't really make out the patchouli at all, and the amber is playing backup. Playful and cheerful. Sadly, it doesn't last long on my middle-aged skin.
