sunlitgarden Report post Posted December 16, 2016 When a mother sits by her infant's cradle, he stands on the pillow, and, with his wings, forms a glory around the infant's head. He flies through the chamber of content, and brings sunshine into it, and the violets on the humble table smell doubly sweet. A halo of white honey and sweet apple with carnation and ambrette seed. In the decant: Sweet apple! I've tried a good number of bpal apples at this point and I would put the color of this apple as "yellow" or "golden". It's very sweet, but it doesn't really smell quite like a red apple. It's a little fresher and crisper, but not as much as so as a green apple. It makes me think of sweet apple juice or cider. There's a teeny bit of spice, maybe from the carnation. This is a REALLY NICE APPLE. On my skin, the apple smells a little bit "greener", fresher and crisper but overall I would still describe it as "golden". I'm not super familiar with ambrette seed (though I like scents I've tried that have it), and I think to this it's adding a sort of...depth to the sweetness, giving it a thicker texure, in a way that's similar to butter or vanilla without quite being either of those things. Apple rarely lasts on my skin, as much as I enjoy the note, and this seems to be no exception. Once the apple starts receding here, this is starting to smell a bit on the powdery side. It's still quite pleasant, though. It's actually reminding me of something oddly specific: decorative soaps in the shapes of shells or pumpkins or other "seasonal" items that are sometimes on display in people's bathrooms. If I sniff closely, there's a mix in the dry scent of floral/spicy/sweet/powdery. I haven't gotten much carnation in this, except for maybe a bit of "spice" in the decant, and maybe a faint bit of floral now. I like this best in the decant and fresh on my skin. I wish I could get that apple top note to last (if it did I would have many more apple blends), but so far it just hasn't been possible.
sprout Report post Posted December 19, 2016 In the imp: fruity apple Wet: Honey and apples Drying: juicy apples paired with honeyed carnation and a musky, nutty support which is the ambrette. Another full bottle worthy creation. The carnation makes this different enough from straight honeyed apple. This is a lovely carnation scent with the apple balancing the spice of the carnation and sweetened with a hint of honey. Love this, it's going into heavy rotation in the Springtime and Summer. Like a more mature Alice tasting an apple.
Dark Alice Report post Posted December 21, 2016 Apple, musky white honey which smells like beeswax on my skin and something fresh! I love this. I need a bottle...stat!
LizziesLuck Report post Posted December 22, 2016 Wet: Mmm. Not a fan of apple, but love the other notes, so had to try this. There is a lot of apple, but I am not hating it. The honey and ambrette make this musky and a bit sexy. Not getting any carnation yet. Oh. This wants to go soapy, boo! Dry: Very light, faint honey. A bit of apple. A pleasant skin scent. Not really my jam, and it doesn't have much throw or lasting power on me. I imagine those who like the apple, as well as the other notes, would adore this. Blood onmy hands Report post Posted December 28, 2016 This smells basically exactly like the Honeyed Apple from the Halloween series did on my skin. "A slightly soapy, perfumey apple that really smells like apple scented salon shampoo to me. There's a definite sweetness, but I can't place it as honey, and the drydown smells rather waxy/plasticy to me, like melting candle wax."Green apple shampoo with a bit of waxy sweetness. I don't get the carnation at all.

Lisa Ing Report post Posted February 14, 2017 Fresh from the Lab this was all GREEN APPLE with a little bit of honey and a tiny bit of vegetable musk. I didn't get any carnation at all, and the apple-honey blend was pretty flat in comparison to the honey note in Mead Moon. It took about two months of aging for the carnation and ambrette to come out and balance this blend properly, or for the juicy apple to chill out a little -- it's quite good now on the retest. The carnation smells a little bit peppery and the vegetarian musk is really pretty. I layered with a little bit of Australian Sandalwood SN this morning -- that's a great combo, like the best apple tree in the world.
Lucchesa Report post Posted August 12, 2017 This particular apple note just doesn't work on my skin. I wish it did - I love carnation and honey. It's reminding me strongly of something else -- I will edit if I remember what it is. Not much throw and seems to be fading quickly on me.
