Invidiana Report post Posted October 7, 2016 This is a first class Ladies Seminary, conducted by an accomplished and intelligent young lady, who has a class composed of seven beautiful young lady scholars who do credit to her establishment. The house is newly furnished in a magnificent style, is very quiet and orderly, and first class in every respect. A sophisticated arrangement of graceful blooms: cherry blossoms, Florentine iris, violet absolute, and wisteria, warmed by honey, almonds, and cacao. I can't possibly resist anything with wisteria, and the floral charms of Miss Anna do not disappoint. It's like the first flowers off spring blossoming straight form the bottle, and while lit starts off like a shower of petals, it is eventually warmed up by a lovely backdrop of honey and almond with a slight shadow from what I'm assuming is the cacao. Wisteria is one of my favorite florals and while I don't amp it, it doesn't vanish after the drydown. This is not a screeching floral but more of what I like to call a fairytale floral. It starts off innocent and slowly reveals something telling about its namesake. Who knew a painted lady could be so respectable?
ellebelle Report post Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) I'm really surprised that Miss Anna isn't getting more love. In the bottle there is something harsh and a little unpleasant smelling but as soon as it goes on the skin it morphs into a beautiful, soft scent. It has an almost vanilla quality to it from the cacao (I think perhaps white cacao?) and almond mixture. The predominant floral scent I get is that of cherry blossoms and wisteria. I can't really smell the violet at all. The sum total is a wispy floral backed by a warm vanilla-ish base. The drydown is a tiny bit powdery - I suspect that this is the violet making itself known. Still, this is a pretty scent. Edited October 23, 2016 by Ellebelle
zankoku_zen Report post Posted November 4, 2016 Cherry blossoms, wisteria, almond and cacao. So this smells like a Lupercalia. I get heavy sweet cherry blossoms with a brush of wisteria, and a base of almond and cacao which add a warm foodieness to the blend. It's a pretty intense cherry blossom scent. Good throw and wear length.
Blood onmy hands Report post Posted November 16, 2016 Cherry blossom and wisteria are two of the few florals that I love, but I never get along with the lab's iris notes, because it's very sharp and perfumey/musky on me. Thankfully, I don't get the iris from this at all. Miss Anna is sweet cherry blossom (made sweeter and with more of an actual cherry fruit scent from the almond) and a pale, light blue, lilac-ish wisteria note. I can pick out the sweet, warm honey note in the drydown, and it's like golden sunshine over the florals. The drydown has a bit of a dry, powdery dusting of sweetness from the violet and cacao, but the cherry blossom and wisteria still have that breezy, creamy, airy quality to them.Honeyed springtime in a bottle. First Cry of the Warbler on the Plum is my favorite cherry blossom scent right now (and it also has notes of wisteria and honey, so it's similar to this), but Anna has that cherry almond note instead of plum and I find Anna to be a bit sweeter and more dry smelling overall, with the touch of powdery violet and cocoa.
