Convallaria Report post Posted August 31, 2016 (edited) Dew-touched grass and tulsi, gleaming with muguet des bois, fir balsam, ti leaf, and violet leaf. Grass! The opening is pretty much like Egg Hunt Grass Stain. Muguet creeps out later on, but the green still dominates. Even with the edge of grass blade dulled as the time goes on, the scent is consistently on the fresh plant side, leaves adding to the greenery rather than providing herbal effect. Tulsi sweetens the mixture in the drydown, but only barely, just to take away the bitterness of freshly cut plant. I was worried about fir balsam adding a note too masculine for my taste, but it wasn't the case - it was a part of the background blend. I tried four unicorn scents (including this one) so far, and all four have been well blended. Some had a dominant note, some didn't, and this one definitely did - that fresh greenery. Everything else is there to prop it up. Wear length was moderate. Edited August 31, 2016 by Convallaria
happygoth Report post Posted September 1, 2016 I don't usually like green scents like this, but this one... man, I have a backup of this one. To me, it's like the freshest granny smith apple and cut green grass wet, and then it keeps that crisp greenness pretty much throughout, but eventually shifts to fresh cut flowers (probably the tulsi?) It's one of the few perfumes I have that's consistent from opening the bottle through a few hours of wear. It also doesn't go weird as it fades. The green fades, but the light, crisp floral remains. It's a little green, pleasantly powdery, crisp afterthought. If you like greens, definitely one to try!
Aviatrix Report post Posted September 12, 2016 This is a very true-to-life GRASS scent! I am getting a little bit of the tea and a hint of floral notes in the background, but the grass is really the star of this show. The grass subsides somewhat after drydown, but the scent overall remains an idyllic - yeah, idyllic is the right word - spring-early summer outdoors scent. It is sadly rather faint on my skin, but if you're looking for an unobtrusive atmospheric springtime scent, you might want to give this one a try! It really captures the concept very well, and I think it would appeal to a lot of people who maybe wouldn't normally go for an outdoorsy scent. The floral elements are not too strong either, if you're afraid of those. I will happily keep and use my decant!
zankoku_zen Report post Posted September 22, 2016 This one is a nice grassy blend. Very summery, fresh and idealic. It actually makes me think of the green stem sap smell you get in some Rose Red blends. The drydown goes a teensy bit of a dryer sheet on me.
Blood onmy hands Report post Posted September 24, 2016 Sharp green grass with a slightly soapy, wet, spring floral scent. I prefer Bestiaire du Moyen Age and Egg Hunt Grass Stain for my green/grass perfumes.
achildoftime Report post Posted February 18, 2017 Really pretty, sweet grass that's just been watered. It's like rolling around a beautiful lawn with lilies and violets planted around the edge. I find it very green and a touch sharp, but not in a way that puts me off it. It's going to be a lovely spring/summer scent.
DiZZysTARdust Report post Posted January 18, 2018 (edited) My mom tested this one for a work meeting. She normally does not go for florals but of the three options I gave her this was her top choice. In the bottle this smells like literal fresh cut grass. Very green but slightly sweet. On her skin the sweetness of the florals becomes much more prominent but nothing stands out that I could identify. When i smelled the test patch I actually thought I smelled light honeysuckle or maybe a floral honey. The grass is definitely still the top note, though. Not a very strong throw but it definitely was noticeable when I was sitting right next to her. After about an hour I smelled the test patch again and the scent was still there. It did not morph much from the original scent, still mostly grass with a sweet florally edge. After 2+ hours it was mostly gone but left a distinct sweetness behind.
