Hello!!
Welcome to the wonderful land of BPAL!! It is vast and can be confusing, but we are here to help.

I think the best thing to do now, is go to the Lab's website...on the top right, you can click on "Directory". Then a HUUUGE list will pop up, you can check by scent/notes.

You can click on a note that you like, say vanilla.... it will pull up a list of all scents (some available now, some discontinued) and you can read through them and see what you might like.

Then, I would go to the review section here and read up what others think of said BPAL scent you might be interested in.... it is a great way to see how others smell it or how it works on them and that will help you decide if it is one you want to try.

Hope this helps... you can find a lot of bottles/imps for sale here on the forum that will be a little cheaper for you as you start testing the BPAL waters! ;) Good luck and never fear asking any questions. Welcome to the rabbit hole! ;)

P.S. Also, sign up for the BPAL newsletter... that way, you will get informed on new BPAL and updates and such. AND be sure to check out the Black Phoenix Trading Post. It is the sister site and they have AMAZING goodies there, like Hair Glosses, clothing, jewelry, etc etc!!

:welcome: !

I think you'd probably like Dorian and The Lights of Mens' Lives based on the types of smells you said you were interested in.

Yep, I was going to suggest Lights of Men's Lives too--to me, it smells kind of like vanilla and kind of like honey and kind of like the smell candles have when they burn. O might be another good one to try.

There aren't a ton of GC scents with pomegranate, but Persephone is super pretty, even though it doesn't have any of the other notes you mentioned.

You might see if you can get a decant of Geisha in a Green Kimono. They are still floating around from Lupercalia and available at the lab. It's got citrus and green musk in it, along with gun powder tea. The Teapot is also lovely and smells like honeyed tea to me. You might also look at, Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat. It's effervescent melon/lemon/lime, great for summer, and a GC scent, so you can order an imp from the lab.

Also, there's a thread under Recommendations for Top 5 Favorite Scents. You could post yours and possibly get some more reccs.

Good luck and welcome to BPAL! :-)

Hi there and welcome! I am fairly new here myself :)

I saw 'That smell that candles have when they burn' and immediately related. I love that smell!

Because others have suggested The Lights of Men's eyes already(Really amazing scent!) I'm going to hop in and suggest my favorite Neil Gaiman inspired scent, The Ifrit ! It's all smoky candle goodness to my nose!

Another I just smelled recently was from the Trading Post, Crimson Peak Room Spray Young Ediths room. the beeswax is very strong in it (to me) and that could be something extra to look into :)

Also regarding tea scents: White Rabbit (Strong black tea and milk with white pepper, ginger, honey and vanilla, spilled over the crisp scent of clean linen.) seems like it would appeal to your tastes!

It filled my void for a sweetened tea scent!
