PeculiarHeroine Report post Posted December 6, 2016 Wooly sugared marshmallow root. It turns out that I love marshmallow scents, so I'm so glad I picked up a bottle of this. This is a dense, rich sugar and marshmallow cloud. Like those fancy marshmallows you can get at specialized grocery stores. I can smell the powdery outside, and the slightly dense and chewy inside. Creamy, dreamy, amazing.
writergal969 Report post Posted December 21, 2016 This is just...hands down amazing. It's made me a foodie believer. Wet: buttery Rice Krispy treats with lots of marshmallow. Drydown: Just the hint of burning sugar and luckily this phase blows by in a few minutes Dry: Beautiful and yummy foodie vanilla marshmallows. O. M . G. I love marshmallows and even my SO likes this one. We have a winner!!!!! Synopsis: One bottle is not enough, folks. Needs moar bottles.
Allison93 Report post Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) Ok so as soon as I put this on, it smells so familiar but I can't place it. I have my mom smell it she can't either but says it smells like a hair product or something I use. Finally I figure it out! It smells EXACTLY like Philosophy's Fresh Cream lotion! I think they have a perfume of this scent to. Which is great because it will help with layering and since this is LE and hard to find/expensive I can buy the Philosphy perfume when I run out. Hopefully it will be as good as this oil. Dry: Fresh cream, and a warm cotton that gives off a "home-y" feeling. This is a great oil for after a shower when you still want to smell "clean and fresh". I do get the marshmallow scent but to me it's more of a warm vanilla fresh cream, that's soft not overbearing. Not too much throw :/ Love it! And try Fresh Cream lotion if you want to layer! MischiefofRats Report post Posted January 25, 2017 I have nothing to add about how this smells; everyone else has covered that well. I am only here to chime in that yes, this is absolutely worth the fuss. If you think you'll like it, get it. You will. If you like beautiful warm creamy vanilla and marshmallow, get it. You'll love it.
FeralFae Report post Posted February 7, 2017 I can't believe I hadn't reviewed this. It's creamy sweet vanilla marshmallows, and my nr1 comfort scent. Yum.
Spaztic Report post Posted February 8, 2017 Fancy artisanal marshmallow, it's foody but there's something else in there that stops it from being only food (the "wooly" part maybe?) I really love this one
renfair Report post Posted April 8, 2017 Because this is one of those scents that everyone just gushes about, I had to give it a try myself when I was able to, somehow, find a decant of it. First Sniff Impression: Light sweetness with a touch of softness I know is wool from the notes. Wet in Vial: Subtle in the vial. Sweet, but not overly sweet. I wouldn't be able to tell there was wool if I didn't read the notes. Drying Down on Skin: It's immediately sweeter, more marshmallow, and woolly on application. It's VERY nice. Dry on Skin: It does stay close to the skin, however. I have to sniff almost touching my arm with my nose to get the full range of the scent. The wool is a lot softer and more subtle than the cashmere in Hoiru, which almost smelled damp. This is lighter and fluffier, like the marshmallow. But it doesn't have much staying power, at least the marshmallow part. Conclusion: I liked this one a lot, but not enough to fork over $50 a bottle or whatever it goes for. Really, in its fully dried state it smelled similar to some of the coffee or sweet Lilith blends once they start to fade. I'd rather have a scent that makes more of an impact. But hey, if someone threw a cheap bottle my way, I wouldn't say no!
Alexis Trout Report post Posted May 3, 2017 In Bottle: Fresh made waffle cone with vanilla ice cream. Wet on skin: the waffle cone smell becomes more amped with the vanilla scent staying more in the background. 2 mins. later..... Antique Lace! 5 mins. later.... It's almost gone. Dusty vanilla, no waffle cone, no longer reminds me of AL. Outcome: Lovely but no staying power, which makes it not a keeper.
celestia Report post Posted May 4, 2017 ♔ Stekkjarstaur In the Bottle: Sweet marshmallow musk Wet: Buh.. buttery vanilla with hints of mallow. This goes beyond the gourmand category into foodie territory. This marshmallow blend has a bit of musk going on, fitting of its ‘wooly’ description… it’s warm, snuggly, mature, and certainly very wearable on older folk. It’s not as pillowy, powdery and sugary light as Marshmallow Poof, and it is a lot more mature smelling than Stale Sugar Crusted Marshmallow Chick SN. Not a hugely complex scent, but it needn’t be. Drydown: The drydown is a LOT tamer, buttery vanilla burns off to reveal vanilla sugar, creating a soft gooey sugary marshmallow musk. I really like this phase a lot. I picked up a bottle each for both my daughters. I don’t imagine they’d want to share a scent like this. TL;DR: sugary vanillic marshmallow musk
Deceitfuldescender Report post Posted August 28, 2017 Definitely marshmallowy, definitely wooly (a sort of odd fuzziness to the scent), definitely musky. Pretty pleasant and I will likely keep the bottle but do not need to seek more.
freyasfae Report post Posted September 24, 2017 Someone I swapped with was kind of enough to send me a sample of this to try! Wet is a lovely sweet, marshmallow without being cloying, but it quickly dries plasticy on me, much like Love did. Alas.
ririchu Report post Posted October 5, 2017 This smells very similar to Antique Lace on me, but leans more creamy and less floral. Definitely a perfumey edge to an otherwise sweet vanilla-esque scent. It also has high longevity.
donkehpoo Report post Posted October 14, 2017 (edited) Wet: Marshmallows! Something "fuzzy" about this as well. Like.. marshmallows that are wrapped lightly in cotton? Dry: Mmmmm. Marshmallows. More of a store-bought marshmallow than ones made from home, but still yummy. There's still something "fuzzy" about the blend, but it's not as prominent as the wet stage. This is a must try if you're a foodie, or enjoy vanilla scents. So good! I've enjoyed layering this, as well. Edited June 16, 2018 by donkehpoo
TheresaRedSkull Report post Posted November 7, 2017 I just love this soft, delicious vanilla scent. It does, however, activate my sweet tooth...
Nilbog Report post Posted November 25, 2017 (edited) Very different from Antique Lace, but none the less very much a like. Sweet and delicious! This smells how I wish pure vanilla extract did patted on while baking. Which I have tried and no it is not a good perfume! I am very bitter about that. Thank goodness for Stekk! God above why can't I have this as hair gloss and bath oil! Forgot to add. This stays pretty close on me. I can smell it when I raise my wrist and occasionally as I go about my business. Husband loves it on me but I wish it was stronger! With throw this would become ultra mecha holy grail scent. If this ever returns I will be a very very very happy nilbog and I would buy 1,000 bottles. Edited December 5, 2017 by Nilbog
