Vanilla-infused jasmine with honey, Bulgarian rose, white frankincense, and a cascade of lush gardenia blossoms.

I get more gardenia blossoms in this than jasmine. There is a hint of rose. The honey is not there for me. This is a light, white floral that sticks around. It is not something to be missed or ignored like some other white florals that are too fragile to enjoy for long. I personally love gardenia, so that vanilla-jasmine makes it a little sweet. I was surprised at how much I liked this considering I do not generally like rose.

In The Bottle: Mostly I'm getting the gardenia, with some of the honey providing a nice base to ground the scent.

 

Wet On Skin: As the gardenia warms, it becomes sweeter, fuller. The jasmine is definitely the same as in the BPTP atom spray Cathouse, and to similar effect: there's a lush, timeless quality to this floral. As if I might fall asleep and awaken in a Victorian sitting room.

 

Dry Down: The is a heady floral, thick with jasmine and gardenia, the vanilla adding a bit of resin to the mix. The honey has become a little like honey powder on my skin, but I find I'm enjoying it, that it's not a baby powder note at all (so don't worry!). I get none of the frankincense or rose, but the scent feels complete unto itself.

 

In All: Medium throw and a little goes a long way. I'm not generally much of a floral person, but I'm happy to have this one in my collection. A must-have for floral enthusiasts.

Origin: Direct from NYCC through a darling fairy.

 

Initial Thoughts: I have been happily exploring the newly-discovered "white" side of things like patchouli and frankincense, things that I long avoided because the usual ones amp so badly on me. I love gardenia, I'm good with jasmine. The biggest worry is the rose, as rose often turns rancid on my skin.

 

In the Bottle: Rose and gardenia. A very airy, "proper" floral.

 

Wet: Welcome, frankincense, Will you behave and not amp as your darker cousins do? Will you let that lovely vanilla and jasmine come up beside you? You will? Thank you!

 

Drydown: The florals resurface, mainly led by the gardenia. But thank goodness, the rose is behaving! It's all smoothing out into a mature but gentle floral with a hint of musky spice from the frankincense.

 

Verdict: I like this one. A nice Victorianesque floral.

Gardenia, airy jasmine, hints of rose and honey.

 

This is a very light, airy floral. If you like gardenia, and just a brush of jasmine in your blends, this one is expertly executed.

 

Very refined, pretty with a subtle sexiness to it.

This is gorgeous! It's a very full, womanly floral, very sweet and soft and ladylike, but not in an overly proper sort of way (the kind of lady that the inspiration seems to be is quite fitting, I think!). It's a little heady at first, but very much sweetened by the vanilla and honey in a way that smoothes that out rather than amping it up. The florals are creamy and smooth, and it does strike me as old-fashioned--reminds me of a high-quality hand cream that a Victorian lady might have used, but in a good way! I get a lot of gardenia, some jasmine and a little rose at first, but as time wears on I get a gardenia/jasmine mixture over the top of the honey and vanilla and less of the rose. I don't notice the frankincense, but since these flowers could be overly heady and they're not, I'm assuming it has something to do with that. I get more of it on the far dry down, where there's a sort of warm--not spicy but almost spicy, the way frankincense often strikes me--undertone to the sweetness, melded with the vanilla and honey. For a while there's a lot of honey over the top of the flowers in a way that does strike me as a honey dust or powder, but not in a powdery way, just not sweet, sticky, and gloopy the way some BPAL honey strikes me, but later on it becomes more of a harmonious honey-vanilla-frankincense base for the gardenia and jasmine. Still not a lot of rose, just hints of it, very gentle and sweet but a bit more fragrant-perfumey that way that rose is at times.

 

I agree with the florals being light and airy, and it strikes me as refined and old-fashioned and womanly. And I'd also say it has a subtle sexiness to it. A ladylike sexiness, though that seems like a contradiction in terms. I really love that vanilla-jasmine and gardenia combination, and I love this, though I doubt I'd wear it every day.

Heady jasmine, sweeter than normal due to the honey. Lately the Lab's jasmine hasn't been as 'pee-like' for the lack of a better word, or maybe it's the honey sweetening things up a bit. If it has changed, I think it's for the better. I don't wear scents like this very often, but when I'm in the mood, I'll certainly use this one.

I get a big, loud jasmine and gardenia mix with a little honey. I prefer creamier gardenia notes, where this one is sharper and more traditionally white floral, and the jasmine is perfumey and slightly sour. Has that musky, sharp white floral drugstore perfume tone to it.
