Formula 72 Massage Oil

Recommended Posts

Bolsters sexual vigor, stimulates sensuality, and inspires relaxation: cacao with coconut, vanilla cream, and shea.

Normally I don't bother with massage oils. I no longer live with an MT, so I feel like "what's the point?" However, when I saw the note list for this item, I felt that there was just no possible way I could ignore such a thing. so here goes:

In the Bottle: Imagine the most delicious edible suntan lotion that has never existed. Cocoa butter? Check. Coconut? Check. Vanilla frosting in a can? Check, check, check. :thud:

On the Skin: Oh, holy crap. This smells AMAZING. Not only do all the above elements stay true, but the shea butter shows up and adds a little sugary note, right on at the end. the oils texture is light and absorbent, leaving my skin feeling moisturized without being slick or greasy or sticky.

In All: A must have, I will use this post-shower or post-bath as a nice light moisturizer and I will also put some into the ends of my hair, where it's most thirsty. In other words, do not deny yourselves something so yummy and lovely simply because you don't get that many massages. Trust me- you'll find ways to use this heavenly treat!

Upon opening the bottle, I think, “Chocolate!” The cacao is the dominant note, but I can smell the coconut and vanilla as well. This smells delicious.

Alas, it is not nearly as awesome on my skin as it was in the bottle. It isn't as chocolate-y on me, and I can see why someone might get suntan lotion for the coconut and shea notes, although it doesn't quite veer into that territory. The cacao note has become more prominent after this blend has been on my skin for a bit, but it is definitely a cacao note (and not the chocolate that I originally got from the bottle).

After a while, the cacao note mellows out, and the vanilla cream makes more of an appearance, but all of the notes are still present.

I will certainly keep my bottle, but I think the one bottle will suffice!

*edit* Almost an hour later, the scent rounds itself out even further, and the cacao, vanilla cream, and coconut notes remind me of a Magic Bar without the crust. Yum!

Note: I'm using this as a body lotion.

In the decant: Cacao & vanilla, w/ hints of coconut and shea butter.

Wet: Mostly cacao, w/ hints of the vanilla, coconut, and shea.

The dry-down: In the end, this is just a powdery cacao, slightly sweetened by the vanilla. Very nice!

Rubbed a little bit of this onto my arm to test it. Pure chocolate and coconut, with what smells like a tiny hint of cinnamon. The scent stays pretty true the entire time I can smell it, but disappears after a few hours. I deeeeeefinitely want a sexy man to rub this all over my body. :D

Previous reviewers have pretty much covered it. Very lovely choco-coconut-vanilla blend. For me, it is hard to top Gula bath oil for my chocolate moisturizer, but this decant will be perfect for use as purse-sized hand lotion.

Mmmm, this is so yummy, and this is coming from a non-foody bpaler! I'm getting rich, creamy vanilla with just a touch of coconut, to make it not too much like the beach. I'm getting a bit of milk chocolate here too. It smells like the most delicious dessert in a fancy restaurant. A bit of musk would make this more wearable for me, it kind of smells like the vanilla from Snake Oil, and without the spices. I'm kind of getting a scent memory of Anaconda, but I do not have any more to compare. The oil is amazing, and is a great moisturizer, even better than bpal's bath oil. Nice, but a bit too foody for me, though I may try layering it. If you're a foody lover, you HAVE to try this:)

This one is creamy milk chocolate, hint of coconut and shea. This one is definitely a milk chocolate blend though!

This smells so yummy. Its actually making me crave sweets.

Chocolate and coconut and vanilla...like a macaroon. So. Good. Villainess's Santa's Revenge smells very similar to me.

Mmmm. Seriously, I'm hungry now.
