theredkilt Report post Posted May 30, 2016 The God of Love Returned and avenger of unrequited love, Anteros is Eros’ brother – one of the Twin Cupids – and was given to Eros by his mother, for without reciprocal affection, love will wither. He wields lead arrows and a hammer of gold, and he wields his weapons to inspire mutual ardor and smite those who spurn love. His scent pierces the heart with glimmering shards of rapture and the sweet ache of passion: throbbing red musk and shimmering chypre with saffron, sweet patchouli, Italian bergamot, red currant, and vanilla bean. This is thick red musk sweetened by currants and vanilla. For a moment i though it has tobacco. One of the few red musk blends that knock my socks off
LizziesLuck Report post Posted June 5, 2016 Wet: Lots of red musk and patchouli. Something else that might be the chypre, I'm actually not that familiar with it. I find it really masculine thus far. Dry: It's ok, but not great on me. There isn't enough sweetness in this for me. The patchouli is of the very dry, earthy rather than gnarly variety. I think I am getting a lot of the chypre too, which is woody and sort of smoky? It's a much more earthy scent than I would have imagined from the notes. I am not getting the red musk, currant and vanilla scent that I would have liked.
freyasfae Report post Posted November 20, 2016 Holy begamot and patch! Then the saffron starts coming up and confirms I am eh about saffron, but it settles down, and I can't believe how these notes all work together so well. it's Beth's magic, of course, but wow, totally unexpected. marilyn eyre Report post Posted January 30, 2017 Sooooo sexy. Musky and hot, sweetened by the undercurrent of blackcurrant and vanilla. But also there's this...grassy? note, so it smells like rolling around in a meadow with a devilishly handsome scoundrel. Yummy.
galahad Report post Posted March 17, 2017 In the Vial: Red musk and patchouli On the Skin: Starts with a burst of juicy red musk and then quickly the patchouli makes this very dry. As it settles I get wafts of bergamot and vanilla which flit in and out. On the Drydown: On the drydown this melds into a cohesive sweet and woody red musk. The vanilla has rounded the whole blend out and the saffron becomes a little more obvious. Lovely for any red musk fans out there (like me!)
CitrusFiend Report post Posted July 28, 2017 In the imp, a cool, musky wood. Wet on skin, some fruity and spicy notes join the mix. It's a lovely fruity red musk through the drydown. Sweet with a clear, transparent quality.
dementia_divine Report post Posted February 19, 2018 In the imp: I'm mainly getting the red musk, with some of the chypre, patchouli, and red currant in the background. Wet: The red musk is the dominant note, but I'm also getting the chypre and the currant. After a few minutes, I start to get a bit of the bergamot and vanilla bean. The red musk and currant are the dominant notes, so this is surprisingly fruity on me. Dry: The red currant is now the dominant note on me, and it's the same red currant found in Eat Me. But I'm still getting a fair amount of red musk. The bergamot note is a little more noticeable in this stage of the scent, but the chypre seems to be content to linger in the background. Oddly enough, I haven't gotten any patchouli yet. The combination of the currant and vanilla bean are making me think of Eat Me, with less vanilla and without the cake. After a while, I do get some incense-y chypre and soft patchouli in the background, but I have to press my nose really close to my wrist to smell it. Verdict: Red musk and I are usually enemies, but oddly enough, it works for me here. I was expecting this to be a heavier scent with notes like chypre and patchouli, but my skin chemistry seemed to run away with the sweeter notes. I don't think I'd reach for this over a scent like Eat Me, but this was a pleasant surprise. If you're normally averse to red musk, like me, don't be afraid to give this one a try! goblingrin Report post Posted March 1, 2018 Received recently as a frimp. In the imp it smells musky with a touch of sweetness to it and I could really just inhale it all day. On my skin, it begins to smell very incense-y and the while I admire how well the scent sticks around for me, I'm just not fond of how incense-y it is on me.
