darkeyedfran Report post Posted October 15, 2013 Frankincense, black copal, and myrrh veiled in night-blooming jasmine, black rose, smoky patchouli leaf, and a dribble of red wine. Oh. My. Gosh. I just want to say this smells like smoky autumnal goodness, I cannot get enough of this scent! I will try my very best to explain the scent, I am terrible at describing scents. It reminds me of samhain in the feeling it evokes, it's very resiny and dark....the florals don't jump out at me but they are present. This scent pairs very well with Silky Bat hair gloss! I was so sad when this arrived because it spilled all over the box! I lost a good 1/5 of the bottle but I think it's probably a tricky thing to ship. It still makes me sad that so much of the precious bath oil was lost! I've never used the BPTP bath oil before and I must say it's so divine, it soaks into the skin well, scents the skin lightly, and you don't need to use too much of it. Really contemplating buying a backup bottle!
sharkdiver Report post Posted October 19, 2013 This is super sexy...resiny, dark, musky, and a hint of sweetness. I may buy a backup of this one!!
thekittenkat Report post Posted November 21, 2013 (edited) In the bottle: Smells like a sweet (the copal) version of Samhain or Falling Leaf Moon, with a wine base. Wet: The patch, myrrh, and frank are most obvious. The dry-down: As this dries down, the jasmine and rose are making their evil presence known, alas. The resins and the copal are disappearing, too. Very much a morpher. I'll keep my decant in the Post bottle and hope for better results later on. Btw, the label is super-cute, with two black kittens poking their heads through the "eyes" of a smiling jack-o-lantern. Rather disappointed, but should have known that the florals might ruin things. Edited only for grammar fail. Edited November 21, 2013 by thekittenkat
theredkilt Report post Posted December 15, 2013 I got a generous decant of this bath oil through a forum swap. On my skin i get a hypnotic base of copal and myrh with whiffs of powdery rose floating around. It's very evocative of an autumn dusk, but i could do without rose addition. milo Report post Posted December 26, 2013 What seems to be dominating on me, is the night-blooming jasmine. There maaay be a bit of resins here, but it's all about the jasmine. So much so, that this seems more like a spring blend than an autumn one. Not what I was hoping for, but I'll probably use this one in the spring.
theseagrows Report post Posted January 23, 2014 i just tried this on my wrist, and of course i just amp the jasmine which is kind of stinky and strong. i think maybe i smell some myrrh but it's mostly jasmine jasmine jasmine on me, and the lab's jasmine just doesn't do too well with my skin chemistry. alas, i will be swapping this. zankoku_zen Report post Posted May 21, 2015 I get jasmine, red wine, roses and a touch of frankincense and patchouli. I seem to amp up all the wrong notes in this one. It's definitely dark, autumnal - but its a pretty jasmine/rose/red wine blend. Or perhaps better thought of as Lucy Westenra when she's bathing prior to seeing her bevy of beaux. She's vampy, but not a vampire yet.
