CapricornSister Report post Posted March 8, 2013 HOUSE OF UNQUENCHABLE FIREO garment not golden but gilded,O garden where all men may dwell,O tower not of ivory, but buildedBy hands that reach heaven from hell;O mystical rose of the mire,O house not of gold but of gain,O house of unquenchable fire,Our Lady of Pain!Glittering amber, frankincense, neroli, vanilla silk, and champaca. WOWEEEE! This stuff is GORGEOUS! MINE MINE MINE. ALL MINE. Ok, I will share....Nothing in here screams *smell me and only me*, just blended so well. Not sure how they did it but the amber certainly feels like it is glittering! Frankincense/amber/champaca is what I get out of the bottle, but it's all very soft. Then it all sweetens up a bit from the vanilla/neroli. The scent certainly lingers but not in an obnoxious way. Comforting and happy to me, like a soft fuzzy sweater on that first NYC spring day when the temp finally gets above 55! Another bottle (or two) is in my future.Puddin' and the labbies, you guys are amazing!
KawaiiKai Report post Posted March 15, 2013 I agree with CapricornSister, this is amazing. Funny she mentioned the sweater, because I got the impression of medium weight blanket, just right for snuggling down on these cool pre-spring nights. Right out if the bottle I get a combination of frankincense and neroli, immediately followed by amber-vanilla-champaca. After a few moments, it settles into that blanket comfort/sweater comfort. Tres delicieux!
greedygirl Report post Posted March 17, 2013 Gorgeous stuff this. Just perfect.
ReallyZeb Report post Posted March 22, 2013 There's a blizzard outside, it's 7.30am and there's no heating on ... yet my room feels warm and cosy and expensive. Is expensive a smell? Maybe that's where the glittering part is, this smells extremely luxurious! I cannot pick out any individual notes because it all blends so perfectly, I love it! OctoberGwen Report post Posted April 3, 2013 I fell in love with this immediately. It just smells...fantastic. Blanket-comfy, yes, but the blanket is cashmere, top of the line. I Big Bottled this baby.
ljaylh Report post Posted April 19, 2013 I just looked up "awesome" in the dictionary, and look what I found: So it's official... this atmo spray smells awesome It's smells like the light of a silvery moon, with gentle hints of soft orange blossoms drifting by on a silky breeze. The amber is warm and luscious, and the champaca gives everything a gorgeous golden and exotic glow. It smells rich, expensive, luxurious and gorgeous. It sparkles like diamonds, but feels like your comfiest oldest pyjamas. Really, really beautiful.
Caper Report post Posted April 20, 2013 SSDB gets For that review! I can only add that I am only occasionally moved to write a review and I got this yesterday, sprayed it last night, noticed the lingering scent on my pillow, and came right here to let you all know this is indeed, awesome. Beautiful vanilla tempered by amber with a hint of frankincense. I was worried about champa a because sometimes that can go south on my skin, but it is just beautiful on my pillow. it smells rich, and lush, and gentle. Not overpowering but understanded and just damn good. I already have a bottle in my basket at the post and am debating about two.
violetblue Report post Posted May 2, 2013 I am glad I read the reviews and sucked it up and bought this. It is just glorious!!! It's that perfect incense smell I looooove without being too dark or dirty!
Poenari Report post Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) SDDB's review (AWESOME) is once again perfect. Another home run, and another one that I would wear as a perfume (and might have once again "accidentally" sprayed on my arm ) Editing months later to add that I love to spray HOUF on my neckscarves, especially those that are knitted. The scent lasts and lasts, and I get the most amazing wafts of beautiful scent. I just adore this spray! Edited March 1, 2014 by Poenari
Alethia Report post Posted May 16, 2013 I'm definitely going to agree with whoever said upthread that this smells expensive. I mostly smell beautifully lush vanilla with a fabulous champaca. I've been spritzing this stuff like mad, and will have to get another bottle before they go down.
asterope Report post Posted May 31, 2013 I really enjoy the scent but its VERY light for my standards. Wish it was stronger but mimicking the above as it smells expensive and...cashmere-y
lunaticana Report post Posted September 9, 2013 This stuff is AMAZINGGGGG Iam so tempted to use it as a perfume (spraying it onmy clothes would actually work ) But I won't, cause I know I wil get an itchy face then, all day long long But dear god, this is good !!! I already thought the amber would be nice but with that neroli together, it is the perfect combination for my small room Vanilla silk sounds as good as it smells And the Champaca is super STRONG
ToThineOwnSelfBeTrue Report post Posted November 1, 2013 Like the person above I was tempted to spray on my clothes...ya I did And I keep stuffing my nose down the front of my shirt This is fantastic!! This needs to be a staple of the Trading post and never be lost in the files. This is to me .... Snake oil on sex...yup I said it. This is the sexiest snakiest scent ever and well....let's just say if I spray this on the linens sooo ya to me it smells like a vamped Snake Oil...don't know why but damn this is good and I need more xoxo
zankoku_zen Report post Posted January 11, 2014 Amber, sweet frankincense and a touch of vanilla. Wow. This smells warm, luxurious, and redolent. Actually I sort of want to spritz myself with it. Sadly mr. zee_zee is neutral on it, which means it would get almost no use in our place, so this may find a better home where it can be properly cherished. littlebeky Report post Posted January 22, 2014 Amazing. I absolutely love it. The boy only likes things that smell like food (pumpkin s'mores atmo is his fave) but this he doesn't mind one bit. It's like the fanciest incense I have ever smelled. That's immediately what I thought. It smells fancy. But warm, earthy and smooth. I love it. I just sprayed my scarf with it! LiberAmoris Report post Posted March 1, 2014 This review is long overdue—I love House of Unquenchable Fire atmo spray. Like my beloved British Blondes, it's an amber and vanilla fest, but at times it also reminds me of one of my favorite perfumes from my teenage years: Benetton Colors. Sometimes on the weekend I give my whole apartment a good spray and then just revel in the golden, warm, rich scent that seems to coat everything in sunny glamour. I sprayed the inside of one of my long wool jackets with it, and now every time I wear it, I'm enveloped by House of Unquenchable Fire. Even after I take the jacket off, traces of it cling to me like gold dust and I can smell it all day. Truly an everyday luxury!
annemathematics Report post Posted May 9, 2015 (edited) Incredibly beautiful. A vanilla champaca scent that is regal and smooth and feminine. The name and story imagery conjure a powerful woman, absolutely stunning and with impeccable taste but a touch ruthless. This is a favorite atmo to scent scarves and clothes. If you like champaca, this scent should be right up your alley...and all over your clothes. Edited May 9, 2015 by annemathematics
vox pop Report post Posted June 4, 2015 (edited) Post purchase This was just much too heavy for me. I thank this creation very much for teaching me that Champaca is not for me. I imagined that Ms. Dinsmoor's home from the film Great Expectations might smell like this... exotic, intensely dramatic, and slightly nostalgic. I was thrilled to send this on to someone who loves it Edited June 4, 2015 by vox pop
roseus Report post Posted September 18, 2016 I adore this! Exactly what my bedroom needs to smell like. It's warm and comforting but also a little sultry. The amber and vanilla silk are what I get the most of, especially when it's still fresh. I also get the heady champaca and neroli swirling around. As it settles I get more frankincense, which has a texture to my nose and smells bright (like citrus without being citrus?). It lingers beautifully.
m.valor Report post Posted August 12, 2017 When I was a teenager I used to buy insence sticks from this really small shop in old wooden building. They sold the sticks from a wooden rack and they were not covered so they all mixed up and made this perfect scent I loved so much, I tried to do it for my room and bought 2 of each sticks and put them in my room. But it didn't work for me and I never got the scent home with me... until now! This is exactly the same and I love it so much ❤ I ordered 2 more bottles and feel afraid I will run out of it someday forever. A part of me doesn't want to tell you how perfect it is so I could keep buying it until it's sold Our, but since I seem to like you folks I'll have to risk it
