Fierce Midnights and Famishing Morrows

Recommended Posts

FIERCE MIDNIGHTS AND FAMISHING MORROWS
Seven sorrows the priests give their Virgin;
But thy sins, which are seventy times seven,
Seven ages would fail thee to purge in,
And then they would haunt thee in heaven:
Fierce midnights and famishing morrows,
And the loves that complete and control
All the joys of the flesh, all the sorrows
That wear out the soul.

Black plum, wild lily, and tobacco.

This is truly beautiful...the plum is dark but not "jammy" to me, the lily is deep yet pretty, the tobacco is faint but grounding. For some reason this smells really similar to oak leaves and kyphi to me which is the only reason i don't need a full bottle. Great stuff though!

ETA: different enough for a full bottle...possibly two

I agree with Herb Girl that this has a similarity to Oak Leaves and Kyphi, although they are not the same. Either way, this is a beautiful dark plum scent, grounded by the tobacco. I think I also said about Oak Leave and Kyphi, but I really do wish this was also a perfume! (I might have "accidentally" sprayed some on my wrist :wub2: )

I don't particularly enjoy plum on my skin, but in a room spray it is divine - especially here, with the wild lily and tobacco. This is a beautiful spray that actually reminds me very much of a BPAL scent...I just can't think of which one. It's in the Madame Moriarty/Lucy, Kissed/Our Lady of Pain family, for sure.

I suppose I get the comparisons to Oak Leaves and Kyphi, but I like this one much better. I like it as much as its sister spray, House of Unquenchable Fire, but where House is all about the frankincense, Fierce Nights has plum as the star of the show. The tobacco keeps it from being cloying or overly fruity, and the lily adds a lovely, delicate depth.

Big Win, as is everything else from OLoP. :wub2:

So nice, the lily is very good and the tobacco not as harsh as I was afraid of ;)

Good for when you will get visitors to I guess !!!

Deep plum, hint of tobacco and lily. The lily is a light, almost green stem note and then you get the jammy plum, with touches of tobacco.

Like its sister spray, House of Unquenchable Fire, there's something luxurious about this spray. Opulent, and yet there is also something that seems to imply severity.

Deep, purple, dark.
