Hatshepsut v3

Recommended Posts

Sweet, tropical, slightly heady but well-behaved floral (plumeria? champaca? ) & soft incense with warm, golden amber that goes a tad powdery on drydown, but effectively evokes the dusty desert sand. Quite unique, both bright, feminine, fresh and smoky-warm-sensual but in a way that works really well. It is a subtle scent with moderate throw but good longevity.

At first this reminded me of my hair, after it gets a perm. Since I straighten my hair...the chemicals from the perm and shampoo mix together to create this artificial chemical beach suntan coconut lotion smell.

On the drydown this became very natural smelling to me...like light suntan lotion with hints of coconut. I like it...I think I will wear this one to the beach!

Again, very tropical and very summery/beach appropriate. I get, esp. on wet, whiffs of coconut but on the drydown it is all but subsumed under a sweet, tropical, floral - which I do think is plumeria - as I've seen plumeria do this on me.

There is, indeed a slight smoky warmness to this, which is definitely coming from amber, underneath the floral. Very pretty, very feminine. Sticks close to the skin. Low/moderate throw on me, but this is the type of scent that sticks around on my skin.

Hatshepsut v3 - This is a really beautiful fragrance. It's warm and sunny, slightly woody, slightly resinous, slightly floral, slightly tropical, slightly dry, slightly this and that, and yet fully stunning and really lovely. I get a huge amount of throw from the tiniest little dab. I put on a little dab before I left my house for work and every time someone comes in my office today, they want to now what that pretty smell is. I don't understand why this hasn't been released yet. It's absolutely perfect in every way possible.

I do get a tropical and creamy vibe from this. There's definitely a floral and resinous vibe here. I think maybe plumeria and coconut are present here. And there's amber and something else, something a little sharp.

This starts off as tropical, sharp, slightly soapy floral and dries down to something like coconut suntan lotion and baby powder (amber?). It smells very Paris Hilton at the beach on me, in an artificial and perfumey way, lol.

First applied, I get amber, very resinous and regal so I'm thinking Egyptian? Also myrrh, which goes sharp and powdery on me; not something I care for. The myrrh does back down though and lets the amber shine. There is also a very tropical floral here, mixing in with the amber, adding to that regal feel. Maybe some musk and perhaps a bit of coconut but way in the background. It does add a light-airyness that I like.

So glad I could test (LUFF YOU AMAZING WOMAN!), but now I kinda want a bottle.

In bottle: sharp floral, slightly sweet and slightly citrusy.

Wet on skin: light floral, citrusy and summery, and the sharp note in the bottle is thankfully note present. Smoothed out by faint, soft spices, and a yellow/golden scent, which seems apt. There's a slight powderiness that is coming out, but it's faint and not overwhelming, rather pleasant really, a nice mix with the aforementioned spices--so far.

Dry: at this point I started looking at the review thread, and this shows you how much my nose has to learn--when I read amber, that's when I realized that YES, this blend has a nice smooth amber. Which also explains the dustiness, but it's not all gone to dust. Amber, and a bouquet of yellow/golden flowers, creamy and smooth. The amber becomes stronger and more prominent the longer it stays on my skin, too.

Verdict: keeper! Such a beautiful scent. My, I seem to really like protos...
