Ishtar Report post Posted February 4, 2011 Vanilla, star anise, cherry blossom, peony, violet leaf, and neroli. At first, all I can detect in Pink Mood is etheral anise and soft violet leaf. Very pretty and airy. The vanilla only comes through after complete drydown, helping warm up the blend a little. This is a perfectly lovely scent, unobtrusive and girly. However, for a Lupercalia blend, I was expecting a little (or even a lot) more oomph and sensuality. As it is, Pink Moon reminds me of a toned-down, innocuous version of my beloved Aquarius '09.If you like anise and violet but find these notes too sharp in most other scents, definitely give this a try. angburfield Report post Posted February 6, 2011 This is a soft, feminine blend..so beautiful and delicate, graceful and fluid. Warm vanilla with florals..mostly the most amazing violet topped with anise that fades on the drydown. Medium throw and duration. So pretty..I can't stop huffing my wrists. brilliantcat Report post Posted June 9, 2011 (edited) In the bottle: I can definitely smell vanilla and the star anise (black licorice-y scent, so beware if you hate that smell). Not much of the other notes. Immediately after application: Strongly star anise. Warming up: Surprise! The star anise disappeared, leaving a lovely blend of vanilla and soft, slightly fruity florals. I'd almost given up on this one but it smells delicious now. Fading: Nom nom nom vanilla mostly, though I can catch hints of the other notes. I'm vanilla-obsessed so this is an awesome development. Faded: Sadly, a pretty fast fade but I loved the fading scent. Warm vanilla with very faint hints of the florals and the star anise. Overall: VERY licorice when wet. It overpowered everything else until it warmed up, then vanilla vanilla vanilla. I loved it once it warmed up. Husbeast made appreciative noises over it too and he HATES black licorice anything. So once the SUPER STAR ANISE fades and lets the other notes out to play, it's an amazing scent. ETA: Another of my retests. Wet on, it's plasticky, bitter, strong licorice. As it dries, the anise settles down but this is still a near anise SN. Swap. Edited December 24, 2013 by brilliantcat
whitsunweddings Report post Posted June 16, 2012 In the imp: Licorice allsorts (which are pretty much just licorice and sugar), with a hint of cherry blossom. Wet: Yup. Dry: The same. A lovely little mix that didn't morph at all.
mymymai Report post Posted August 25, 2012 ITI: Odd. There is a strange paper quality to this scent, like newly pressed washi. Beyond that, I can detect faint neroli and anise. Wet: It still smells very similar to the ITI scent, retaining that bark/just pressed paper quality. The star anise, however, is a bit stronger on my skin. Dry: Once dried (20 minutes), the scent has become a combination of cherry blossom, anise, vanilla, and just a hint of violet. It's lovely.
Cali Report post Posted September 7, 2016 Not at all what I expected; however it does fit the concept to me as it's very, very anise-y and it directly made me think of beschuit met muisjes! Anyway, on drydown it goes a lot softer and more pleasant, otherwise... Yeah. Beschuit met muisjes.
ralenth Report post Posted January 13, 2018 Initially, Pink Mood is very much straight up anise, but it softens over time. Dry, it is a delicate pink floral wrapped over black jellybeans.
VetchVesper Report post Posted April 19, 2018 (edited) Drat. I was hoping for all that anise loveliness. Unfortunately, although I can smell the anise, on me, this is much more of soft, sweet, vanilla floral. It has a pink, candy floss feel to it - like a gourmet cotton candy. While it's pleasant enough, and I'll bet a lot of sugared vanilla lovers would really love this, it's just not me. :/ P.S. If you dig Pere Noel, this one might be worth hunting down as a more floral version. Edited April 19, 2018 by VetchVesper
