Vetiver, patchouli, white pepper, and grapefruit.

Wow. This is great.

Why in the hell did I not try this sooner? I expect if I had the grapefruit might have been around a bit more, it seems to have fled.

Vetiver clearly dominates, but its rounded with the hint of pepper (which I can actually smell for a change) and a wee bit of patch. After a while maybe there is a hint of grapefruit... it is hard to pick out for sure though, its almost more of the rind of grapefruit than the fruit.

It reminds me a lot of Malediction, which is a favorite.

In the Imp: Gah. It smells like ashes. If you've tried Gomorrah it's a lot like that, except even more realistic.

Wet: Yes, I can smell the vetiver in here. It's pretty much the standard earthy/grassy type (which is cool, I love vet), but what KILLS it for me is the pepper. It overwhelms everything and I can't stand it. The pepper is so strong that it definitely reminds me of the ashy remnants of... whatever, after a war. Not pleasant at all.

Dry: It's the same. Ashes, spicy ashes, and funky nastiness. My mother wanted to try this and she loved it, what!? On her at least she definitely seemed to amp the patchouli much better than I did, actually giving this some redeeming, rich sweetness, but otherwise? No. Fail. And I'm sure as heck not getting grapefruit, of all things.

Verdict: Not for me at all!

Imp: vetiver, and patchouli.

Wet: vetiver which smells like dirt on me, patchouli, and cocoa. after trying other vetiver scents I have realized the cocoa comes from that.

Drydown: vetiver, patchouli, cocoa, and grapefruit.

Dry: everything above, and pepper.

Overall: I love this, the cocoa, and grapefruit I get are amazing! I want to try it on my husband as well, but I also want to horde it all for myself lol.

The vetiver in this is definitely gritty and acrid - I like that scent, but those who aren't into the bitter/smoky vetiver probably should not try this. It's pretty similar to Lex Talionis on me, which is awesome, since that's a long-DCed scent and really hard to find. Mostly woodsy and earthy with some spiciness from the pepper. I don't get a ton of grapefruit, which is fine with me.

ITB: Light grapefruit, very faint vetiver, and a hint of something dry, which might be the white pepper.

Wet: On my skin, the grapefruit smells more closely to candied grapefruit baked into rum bread with a hint of vetiver. For me, the vetiver might seem less pronounced as it has aged and I previously tested the Single Note of vetiver.

Dry: After a shower, the scent has greened out a little. It's not as citrusy, but I can smell the patchouli much better now. Merged with the vetiver, it's an earthy delight.

Rhinotoros, on me, is the darkness and depth of my beloved Malediction. Only it also has the zing of grapefruit and pepper that flashes through at unexpected moments. It doesn’t seem to blend into one cohesive scent to me so much as it presents as a lovely dark with piercing rays of light shining through.

Yeah, if you don't like vetiver, skip this. For those of us who like that reedy, smoky grass scent -- try it. This is the really nice dry smoky kind of vetiver, not the dank basement kind. The pepper dries it out a little more and gives it a little bite, and I think the patchouli is smoothing it out slightly. But I don't smell any grapefruit at all, and to me this smells almost like a vetiver single note.
