fairnymph Report post Posted December 7, 2009 Sniffed: Pale gold oil. Less intensely appley than v2. Here I get some apple blossom and I think some cherry blossom. There's still a strong juicy fresh apple note, but some soft spring blossoms too, and an airy/misty/faintly aquatic note in the distance. Reminds me a bit of Nowhere in Particular. Wet: Tarter, crisper, more of that sour green candy apple note - same as when PA v2 touches my skin. I would say the blend of apple notes is the same, and this is verrrrrry APPLES on my skin, with the blossoms in the distance. Definitely a light, slightly soapy note from the blossom, but it's quite nice. And I stand by both apple blossom (definitely) and cherry blossom (almost definitely). Also maybe a hint of greenery? This is more complex than v2. Dry: The apples have faded quite a bit and most of the apple that remains is that baked apple scent, not fresh fruit. The blossom remain, and that note that was nagging me in the wet stage might be an herb or a type of wood - or maybe even a very light vetiver note, as this is going a bit soapy. That would also explain the sort of airy/aquatic feel I got earlier, as well. I also get something like, oh god, dragon's blood, or the way that DB dries down on me. Eeeek. Summary: This dries down to almost nothing on me after a few hours - faint baked apple, slightly cologney vetiver, and the teensiest hint of dragon's blood air freshener-ish drydown. But the baked apple note is in command, so this is wearable. I definitely prefer v2, but both these protos are way better than the released IMO. Low throw, poor longevity. zankoku_zen Report post Posted December 22, 2009 This one started as a very intense green apple, but on the drydown its more of an apple blossom with a light airy note. I think one of the florals may be cherry blossom. Ends up slightly soapy on me.
crebbsgirl Report post Posted January 27, 2010 This is more apple blossom on me than strictly apple. I'm getting light florals in the background as well. Sweet, airy and light. Very pretty.
scrappy Report post Posted January 31, 2010 Green apple in the bottle (similar to V2, but slightly less intense). Upon drydown, it has a slightly floral quality in addition to the green apple - maybe apple blossom or another light floral? Very pretty, feminine, apple scent. Light throw. angelicruin Report post Posted February 19, 2010 This is a yummy green apple scent on my skin. Not overly sweet, but not tart either. I agree that on dry down, it's more apple blossom. Very nice and makes me think of Spring.
ellebelle Report post Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) Very much apple blossom on me all the way through. I actually prefer the apple blossom smell to the "apple" smell because it feels more like a perfume and less like a candy body wash. It doesn't morph on me at all - it's straight apple blossom all the way through to the end. The apple blends love my skin chemistry and I love them back! I haven't tried the non-proto poisoned apple, but I can't compare. ETA: at the extreme dry down, I get the cherry blossom. If there are any other notes in this, they are so well blended as to be invisible. Edited March 5, 2010 by Ellebelle
Blood onmy hands Report post Posted March 5, 2010 I am obsessed with Poisoned Apple v2 (which is the only apple scent from bpal that I've really loved), but this version isn't so good on me. I agree with reviewers who said this may have some apple blossom in it, because this goes soapy on me in the way that apple blossom usually does. It's like a refreshing, sweet, fruity-floral shampoo on my skin. Green apple shampoo with a clean, breezy, floral edge... my husband actually likes this on me, but I find it too soapy smelling and clean for my tastes. myth Report post Posted June 30, 2010 Sharp, chemical apple and powdery, soapy floral. I amped the soap powder floral of course, and this is the tart kind of apple I don't like.
violetblue Report post Posted February 26, 2011 Lovely sharp apples, then turns softer, more floral as everyone else has said. Goes a bit soapy/dryer sheet on me, then fades away completely.
bpalscentsual Report post Posted April 6, 2012 In the bottle, this is LET ME DRINK YOU levels of authentic apple goodness. On my skin immediately, as in the first five to fifteen minutes, it's literally a green apple. I have opened my refrigerator and I am looking at a green apple, perfectly ripe, and getting the scent of it -- including stem and skin. Very nice. An hour later? Not so much. For a moment it went into smoky plastic (?? the poison??), but now it's soapy-clean, like a floral version of apple skin if that makes any sense. Small, white, slightly waxy. I may edit this later once I find and test my imp of Poisoned Apple, but as of right now, I'm undecided on whether I'll keep this. I already have soapy in Stinky and I already have apple in Autumn Cider. However, I think this will make a great summer scent for me. I love fruit scents, but later in the day, I do want to smell clean, so this will morph perfectly for me. It's light and airy and fruit-blossom floral after that initial, perfect slice of green apple. Perhaps the poison in this apple is the soap suds.
