Showers you with blessings of good fortune. Use to attract prosperity in all areas of your life.

Note: my bottle says 'Perpetuum Bonuum', but if memory serves, the Latin could/should be 'Perpetuum Bonum.'

I've always been of the mind that nulli est homini perpetuum bonum (there's no such thing as unending/perpetual good fortune), but even if I got some transitory good fortune from this, I'd be happy.

Wet and on the skin, this smells a bit like Horn of Plenty to me. It's an herbal cherry with a kind of waxy overtone that reminds me a bit of the classic cherry chapstick smell. This is not a bad thing in my opinion, as it brings back some good memories. There's something very soothing and relaxing about it, almost reassuring.

I anointed a candle with a few drops of this oil last week as I was feeling in need of some good fortune. I'm happy to say that I got some. It looks like I might have some positive changes on the horizon. I'm not sure if it was the oil or the fact that it allowed me to focus on bringing myself some good fortune, but either way, it worked. :P

Scent: Very smooth, soft, not at all disagreeable to my nose. I do catch a hint of cherry, as LiberAmoris mentioned, but I suspect it's not dragon's-blood-based, mostly due to the color of the oil, which is a warm yellow. That cherry touch fades every once in awhile, then comes back. I'm having so much trouble with notes here, but of course, that's not the point. I find it very soothing, overall. The scent kind of surrounds you (or at least, me), though that may have something to do with placement: I anointed forehead and hands.

Efficacy: Probably a bit early to tell. I can tell you that I felt more focused on healthiness, prosperity, and happiness, but that may be due to using it with intent more than its contribution. I'll certainly edit when I have more to add.

I annointed a purple candle with this and meditated on my goals. I tried to meditate for around five minutes, until I felt as though I had communicated my intent. After annointing the candle, my hands were a bit damp with some of the oil, and I can still smell it.

I am getting apples and something cinnamony/spicy underneath. The smell of the still-burning candle is really pleasant and relaxing. It made me feel hopeful and also energized. This is going to be a great blend to work with just based on sensory stimulation.

I will update as to the effects this seems to produce.

just got an imp of this splendiferous oil and haven't had the pleasure of really using it but i had to review my first impression

first sniff reminded me of that almost fizzy lifting quality in voodoo, which is an oil i love and wear a lot, but this is lighter and sweeter more feminine.

yes slightly fruity and not flowery at all

yes slightly reminiscent of horn of plenty too

the intention is fabulous and it smells good enough to wear

i'm excited about this one

i see a bottle being in my posession in the near future :P

and in response to what was said in the reviews before mine, i'm noticing peeps are sharing thoughts on the effectiveness of this oil and how it may be due more to the personal focus than the oil itself, and my personal take on that is

yes

this is perhaps the case

and this is a great thing!!

i feel this way about all beth's oils

and about life in general

ritual

spells

focus . . .

believe in and create your own rules and meanings from intuition and this is more powerful than any other magic imho

i'm excited to start fresh with a shower in the am tomorrow and really get to bond all day with perpetuum bonum

yes. simply allow (not want. not wish. not hope nor dream nor wonder... just let it be.) life to shower you with good fortune, perpetually. i'm down. why bother believing in anything else?

*edited to add*

ok the next day, after a shower, i tried some pb on my wrist and got a huge whiff of patchouli that i totally didn't get the night before. and didn't get cherry almond like at all. haha weird huh!? or perhaps not. guess i will have to work it some more and review yet again in time. t b c . . .

In the bottle, I think Perpetuum Bonum smells fruity and candy-ish--it reminds me of those gummy Swedish Fish!

It is a very appealing, fruity scent. I can totally see (er, smell) the previous reviewer's comparison to the original Cherry Chapstick.

However, it changes a bit upon application. It gets less fruity and more herbal. And perhaps a little bit metallic.

I smelled what I thought was the fruit that others mentioned when this was in the bottle, and at first upon application, but now I believe that there is vetiver in the blend because my skin loves to amp that note to the nth degree. That is not my good fortune, it would seem, as I am not a fan of vetiver.

However, this is a purpose oil and not a perfume oil, so I am trying to focus on the intention and not the smell.

I put the oil on my fingertips, while concentrating on the good fortune that I seek in the career aspect of my life. I figure since I use my hands and my fingers most, that made the most sense. Instead of rubbing it in entirely, I waved my fingers over myself from the top of my head down to my toes, concentrating most on my head (in my hair) and my throat and over my heart.

I will report back later as to any results.

ETA: I focused my intentions on my career. I have been looking for a new job for a little less than a week now. I just found out that one of the companies I applied with will be contacting me for a pre-interview interview. I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, but after a week of not hearing anything and starting to fall into a funk about this job search, that little ray of sunshine is enough to give me some hope. I don't want to read too much into it, but it was definitely a little bit of good fortune, if I do say so myself.

This is going to be mainly a scent-based review, as I'm not really working with it for its intended purpose and I only have a wee imp of this that will be passed on to a new owner quite soon. I'm not really looking to attract prosperity right now, I just want to have a relaxing/healthy vacation while I'm out of school for a few months, lol. That said:

Perpetuum Bonum is sickeningly almond-y on me. It has that thick, sweet, boozy cherry smell that kind of reminds me of cherry flavored cough syrup. It is rather similar to Horn of Plenty on me, as other people have mentioned, but it doesn't have the same vanilla note that I get from Horn of Plenty. This stays very strong and cherry-ish on me though, with a powdery herbal scent coming out more in the drydown. Not a good smell for me.

Perpetuum Bonum - First, the scent: it's fabulous! It has amazing throw, and reminds me a lot of Chakra: Sahasrara or Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo. It's pink, bubble-green sweet (but not cloying), and herbal. It also lasts on my skin for about 3 hours before starting to fade, and 6 hours until it's completely gone. Now, as for it's intended purpose -- which is to shower you with blessings of good fortune, and to attract prosperity in all areas of your life -- I'd have to say it kicks some serious butt. Since I started using this, I have had two large salary increases within two weeks of one another, was provided primo parking at my office building (as opposed to the crappy parking I've had for the past 4.5 years), was told they're hiring me an assistant, and I've been told I qualify for an even larger bonus at the end of the year. All that within three weeks (since I received the Perpetuum Bonus, needless to say)! I'd say all of that falls under good fortune, at least in my book! I'm going to keep on using it and see what blessings I'm showered with. What I'm curious about is if I can use this on behalf of someone else who needs to be showered with blessings. Please let me know if you know the answer to that question.

In Bottle: Cherry

On Skin: This is so strongly cherry I almost fall over… it’s a very artificial cherry, like cherry coke… no wait… it smells EXACTLY like cherry Chapstick. I used to be addicited to that stuff as a kid so I am 100% sure about that. How funny, I bet if I wore it out and about someone would comment and say that I must be wearing cherry Chapstick. It’s very waxy and strong. It’s a nice smell, but not really anything I’m dying to smell like. LOL! After about 15 minutes I get a slightly menthol note as well. So now it’s reminding me of that lip balm “Cherry Ice”, I used to love that stuff as well. As for it’s intended purpose, I’ve only worn it once and nothing exciting happened but I’m not giving up. I’ll update after the next time I wear it. Strong throw and long wearlength.

In the imp: sweet cherry-almond marzipan scent.

On me, wet: sweet cherry almond, fading swiftly to add a hint of a cucumbery smell behind it.

On me, dry: hmm, lots of vetiver and that watery almost-cucumber metallic scent, and only the faintest hint of cherries. It's very soft.

Verdict: Hmm. Not my style, I think. Swap pile.

This is a very powerful and reliable magical oil blend. I have been amazed at how well it has worked with just a little bit of intent and focus.

Scent wise it is heavy on vetiver. There is a sweet cherry-esque vibe to it - but you can defnitely tell that this isn't meant to be a perfume oil. It's not unpleasant at all when wearing, but I could definitely see how wearing too much could overdo it. It's interesting though.

I typically now put a little PB on the back of my neck and on a necklace I often wear at least once a week. Sometimes, I will also dab a bit to my heart and hands as well.

The latest.: I annointed my neck and necklace yesterday morning. I didn't have any real specific focus other than "a little good fortune/good luck" would be great today.

I have been thinking about how horrible my computer at work is for quite a while, but it's been months since I expressed my displeasure to the powers that be. Imagine my surprise when I saw a sexy, fire-engine red Voodoo machine with see through case sitting on our IT person's desk.

Damn this machine is sexy! Top of the line - ALL the bells and whistles. I assumed that it was the IT guy's new computer. I found out later that it is meant to be mine! One of our board members donated it to me. IT guy just has to format and move all my stuff over. That machine is going to look hot on my desk!

To give you even more info about how PB has worked for me, I am copying my first three experiences from the TAL Reports community as well - these are even bigger displays of fortune:

This was my first real experience with any of the TALs. I bought a bottle from a forumite. Who couldn't use more good fortune and prosperity? I haven't had much experience with rituals so I did a very low-level meditation deal. Basically, I just inhaled and applied the oil thinking of things that indicate prosperity to me - an influx of money, having good spirits, being able to spend some time with my husband, being stress free. I have used this 3 times now. Here are my results:

First time, I didn't have any specifics in mind. More of a general "I welcome showers of good fortune from the universe". I felt less stressed, more grounded. I also found that I had good energy at work. Mostly, I felt calm and collected. I did some good work and had a great evening with my hubby. He was supposed to work, but decided spending time with me would be better. That usually doesn't happen! I felt that everything was real subtle and could have been taken as coincidence at first.

Second time - This time I wanted a bit of good fortune in terms of work. Mainly, a bit of recognition and some much needed income for my department. I applied this and meditated before going to bed. The next morning, I was surprised to find that my department helped gain the company nearly 30K in new revenue. Considering that at least one client had already decided on someone else to develop their website, getting this deal was really surprising. They came back simply for the prospect of working with my department - and - they decided to let us do the website after all. Another client who is especially enamoured threw 3 new projects our way based on the work I'm currently doing for them. All in all, very positive. ETA: I also gained a productivity bonus and a small raise as a result of this. I consider it PB related as well since I was wearing it the days I ofund out about both.

Last time: I was all about the money. My husband does many hours of side-work each week. He has three main "clients" - but what they really are are big 'ol moochers. He helps them out doing all manner of computer things for them (setting up their entire IT infrastructures) and not one of them pays him anything. This has been a major point of argument between us. His time is valueable. There have been entire weekends when the only time I got to see him was 3-4 hours, and that was just for meals because he has to eat some time.

If your goal of side work is to bring home some extra money to help with the bills, you better bring home some money, damnit! I am quite pleased to say that after 2 years of doing work for one person, and things coming to a head about being used - my hubby brought home a $5k check last night! The funny thing is that the guy had written the check on Friday - my husband didn't even have a heart to heart with him until Monday. I was floored.

I'm already a meditator (tibetan buddhist clergy) and big into positive thinking, and one of my major goals is to have bigbig money with which to start a charitable foundation, and also to have the best clients for me (as a psychotherapist specialising in buddhist psychology), and the best health (was allegedly fatally ill a couple of months back and am now pretty much miraculously healed), and the best contacts: I have lucid dreams with folks year after year, and I want to meet the best friends and acquaintances for me, etc., including some of these people: I figure that if I heal them and help them and get along with them in dreams, we'd get along in waking life...so, I want the good stuff in the whole big picture, and then it helps me help others too...

So, I used this, a bit on a few pulse points that seemed right to me, and that first day lots of little stuff happened: I saw a new client who comes from out of town to see me, and we got along great, plus she paid very well and plans to continue coming back to see me, and another person who used to like me and then avoided me came up to me and explained why she'd avoided me for a year or more, that somebody else had been stalking her and giving her trouble which made her avoid everybody, so that situation got fixed, and then the health continues to improve, and then next day I went to see this tibetan lama that I've been wanting to meet for a long time but never got a ride to see, and I got a nice easy free ride there and back, and got along great with the people there, several of whom seem interested in either the spiritual stuff or the dreaming stuff or other things that I do or teach, and the teacher himself was great and we got along, so that is a very good connection...oh, and the day before some lady chatted with me in a bookstore for a couple of hours, and then said that she had studied buddhism etc. for years (elderly lady), and yet had never understood it for real until talking to me...so, in general, it seems very helpful in terms of social contacts, increase in the right clients, some money, and so i am just continuing my own spiritual practice and healing others etc., but also using this every day...a main thing it reinforced for me is that *when i do well, it helps everybody: when I have money, i always share, and when I'm well I use my energy and talents to help others, etc.*...to me that is crucial to remember, because otherwise we get so brainwashed about poverty equalling spirituality or noble suffering being the best, etc. etc. ... :P

I'm currently wearing PB as I'm filing out applications for jobs and sending out resumes. Before I started, I meditated thinking, 'I want to be employed. I want to find a job.'

So far, so good. I'm feeling pretty good about today's batch and hopefully, someone will contact me for an interview. :P

Scent-wise, I dabbed some on my neck. It smells like cherry chapstick. Not unpleasant, musky and warm.

I'll update this review once I see any noticeable results. :D

Review -

this is mostly a review on effectivness, and is going to be long as it is a bit hard to explain.

I have a bunch of TAL oils I keep under my (as of yet) unconsencrated altar.

A bunch of friends were over Sunday playing D&D (this is a RPG game played with dice.) Well one friend was rolling nothing but 1's. Understand we roll a 20 sided dice to see how successful you are on an action. A 20 means (usually) perfect hit/jump/shot etc... a 1 means you tripped and fell on your sword/friend/dwarf/rattlesnake etc. So basically 1's are BAD, often hilarious, but BAD.

Well she was trying to cross a rope bridge across a chasm, 5 rolls to get across. rolled a 1, fell. rolled another 1, slipped off the rope, another 1, missed grabbing the ledge on the chasm wall... you get the idea. So near the end of the night, I jumped up grabbed my PB and told her to hold out her hands, I dabbed some on the palm of each hand and told her to hold her hands together as this was suppose to bring good fortune and prosperity to all areas of your life.

Well her night improved to the point she didn't die, which is always good.

But that isn't the point.

Monday she received a call from her mother whom she has been borderline wanting to strangle over disagreements about her wedding on 4-13 (yes two weeks away). Dreading the call she answers.

It is her mom in a good mood saying " said if you didn't do the big wedding we'd give you money, so which account would you like it in?" (direct quote)

The same mom who has pouted, sulked and threatened for the last month. So she is getting a LARGE check written to her AND "she proceeded to tell me she's covering the wedding cake as well as lunch, my aunt wants to give a tea for me at the college in our hometown, and my grandmother has even decided she wants to pitch in on my dress. "

so.... while it might not have helped in rolling dice, that was a lot of good fortune to drop on her door step.

Weird but true.

This is my first TAL bottle. I got it in a swap. I've used a few imps ears of other blends and had some positive results, but so far I am most impressed with Perpetuum Bonum.

Wet: Sweet, sweet cherry wax! Mmmm. Like cherry soda syrup. Tangy.

There is a softer undertone which is slightly sweet herbal. For some reason it reminds me of the way paper money smells. I can't figure out in what way.

It is amazing how alive with energy this oil is. If Beth were starting a cult of her own, I'd be obliged to join it so that I could learn the secrets of her energy work.

Drydown: The softer dusty note is becoming more pronounced, although the cherry is still tangy and dominant.

I'm having trouble remembering the specific instances of good luck that have come to me since starting to use this oil. But I do remember that it has worked for me in appreciated ways.

The scent itself is unique and fun, not something I'd wear as a perfume, but that's not the point. It is very effective at evocing a certain feeling.

Effectiveness Verdict: Potent!

ETA: Every time I've worn this out of the apartment I've found money on the ground, only coins so far, but I've also found lost valuables I had been looking for, gotten great shopping deals, and I've found close parking spaces quickly in crowded parking lots. I've taken to wearing it any time I go shopping or have some activity planned out.

I put this on the morning after I had a major meltdown about my financial situation. The morning after, things didn't seem so dire but I was still in desperate need of money.

I got a gift certificate at work for Administrative Professional's Day, which was sorely needed. :P

I think this works quite well; I didn't have any specific thoughts when I put it on beyond 'please more money.' I should probably give it another go when I have a more specific goal in mind.

The smell of this is very odd. Very strong cherries. It reminds me of a super-concentrated version of Dana O'Shee. Sort of. I don't really like the way it smells, and I'd never wear it as a perfume.

But damn, does it work. I wore this to my finals this semester (hey, a little luck can't hurt), and I ended up with a 4.0 GPA for the semester!

It works-- buy it, use it, ignore the smell.

I also posted this in the general TAL chatter section.

I bought an imp of Perpetuum Bonum last fall, and hadn't had a chance to use it. I've been looking for a job for nearly a full year without any luck. I finally got a call for an interview last week, and used some before my first interview. I used the tiniest smidgen on the edge of my resume, and on a piece of hematite I'm very attached to. It's always been my good luck/strength piece that I carry with me if I'm worried about something. I took a few minutes to ask the universe for help, and that if this was going to be a good position for me, to help me do well at the interview. I put the hematite and the imp in my purse, and took the resume with me. I got a call for a second interview two days later. I did the ritual with the hematite again, and the second interview went very well. And I got the job offer today. I'm pretty impressed. Whether it was the oil, or the fact that it gave me extra confidence, it definitely worked well. I got the results I was hoping for.

Even more unexpectedly, the same night as my first interview, I sold 20 of the photo greeting cards I make. I hadn't even been putting them out there to be sold, but someone from another forum asked for crafts to use in her custom gift baskets, and wanted some of my cards. If they sell well, she'll order more, and I have my email address and web address on the back of the cards so if people like them they can order them directly. I think I may do a small ritual for the sale of the cards to go well too. Although I don't want to be too greedy.

I am not thrilled with the smell, cherry is not my thing, but it is certainly effective. I think I will probably mostly use it for anointing objects, and not on myself.

Bottle: Fake cherries

Wet: Cherries, almond and plastic smoke! Better than I thought it was going to be, but not something I would ever wear without needing to.

Drydown: Fake plastic and smoky cherries. So far, no prosperity, but it's only been on for ten minutes.

Okay, I get the initial cherry rush when wet, but it dries down almost immediatly to something soft and whispery. But it works most wonderfully well. Put some on Friday and had a really good day of business and won $50. on a scratch off lotto, put some on today and had a good day business wise and won another $20. on a scratch off.

I'll admit that I didn't quite pay attention to the scent itself, so this is mostly just effect.

The first time I wore it, I didn't see much luck, good or bad, or any difference in the way my day went, so I decided to wait it out until I felt a need to use it.

Well, yesterday, something told me to pull it out, so I put a little dab over my heart, and a tiny dot on my forehead, and wished for some good luck for the day, in a very general sense. At work, the member of the group that causes the most trouble left early, the rest of the group was very lighthearted [when usually they are not at all], and things just went great.

Today, I had the same feeling, and did the same little ritual. The one thing we had been begging for months for, lack of work, was finally offered, the payroll came in early for everyone [that was luck for others, not me], my doctor visit went very nice and smooth, and when I checked my bank account a few minutes ago, I found out that my paycheck had been direct deposited in a day earlier than it usually does, which cushioned my dwindling account after paying my rent.

So far, so good. Now if only I could get some other blends to work this well...

I had a tiny amount of this obtained in a swap so used the whole thing in my scent locket this a.m. for a meeting with my accountant.

Well, it turns out he was recommending I make a big quarterly tax payment based on my projected income for this year. Thoughout this meeting I kept getting whiffs of the cherry/almond scent from my locket.

It felt like a caution to me of the responsibilities that come with good fortune. It's not all just rivers of milk and honey.

Then I came in to my office and discovered that one of my customers had made the first payment on her account in a year-and-a-half (true, I had to sue her for nonpayment).

I suspect this should be considered a longer-term and not a short-acting oil. I don't know if this oil or Wealthy Business is really more what I am after.

ETA: Forgot to add. I kept wearing the scent locket with Perpetuum Bonum until I couldn't smell the oil any more. Maybe the day after the meeting with the accountant I was offered a paid gig dancing (I perform a lot, but usually not for pay), which was unusual and very nice.

Ok, I'm a PB believer. Got a new job that I am a total fit for, a 9% raise, two bonuses one for $1500 the other for $3000. I want to say I own PB for about 10 months.

The ultamite test... went to vegas and got an upgrade to a spa suite for a really good deal. Hit the slots and $100 a couple of times...of course if you don't know when to leave...you can't take it with you. Lost most of it, but it did take me 4 hours of non stop playing to finally lose it around 2 am. Got too tired to want to gamble anymore.

Not jackpot luck, but luck nevertheless, the kind that trickles like spurts of rain.

I received a small vial of Perpetuum Bonum as a freebie in a swap, and I was so happy! I needed some good luck - I had to go to the RMV for the 5th time to attempt registration of my car....and I am a thorough, methodical person, so having to go more than once was infuriating, and having to go 4 times was unreal.

The day before, I anointed my forehead, heart chakra, and wrists with the oil. It smells like strawberries and a hint of vanilla or some other sugared sweetness. It's delicious!

I repeated the ritual the next morning, and headed out on my journey. The wait was over an hour, but I got my car registered!!

:wub2:

The strawberry candy scent is lovely enough, but this oil gave me the luck I was hoping for as well!

This is mainly about Road Opener, but I did use some Perpetuum Bonum so will write this up.

Here is the ritual I used for house hunting:

I have a candle which I carve a picture of a house into. I then place it in a green glass bottle which I p uton a plate with salt, sage and rosemary on it. I tie a blue ribbon around the candle and anoint with Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab's TAL Road Opener and Perpetuum Bonum before lighting. I ask the angel Chamuel to help find me a house that I can afford and list the specifications that I want.

I performed this every night.

When talking to estate agents or viewing houses I anoint my heart and crown chakra with Road Opener. Then when finding the house I wanted I also anointed it's paper work.

The night I put an offer in for the house I performed the same ritual but this time I played music and anointed my third eye and crown chakras with Road Opener and meditated on my wishes.

Our first offer was rejected but our second offer was accepted and was still a couple of thousand below our budget!

Result: SUCCESS!
