The Whirler! She is the Muse of Dance and the Dramatic Chorus. She holds both a lyre and a plectrum. Terpsichore is the mother of the Sirens by Achelous, the River God. Bright, joyful and expressive, her scent is kinetically charged, graceful, and an inspiration to all dancers: vanilla and carnation with neroli, iris, stephanotis, sweet pea, apple blossom and palmarosa.

This is bright and joyful, and buoyant floral with a warm spice to it. The vanilla adds a nice warmth as well. The other florals kind of rotate into a medley of fragrance. This is light and sweet, not cloying, and I find it to be almost powder-soft after it dries. The sweet pea becomes prominent toward the end. Overall, this is really pretty and fitting for the concept. I'm sad that it was discontinued.

In the bottle: Kinda spicy - the carnation I think. Sweet and floral. A bit sharp, some greenness.

 

Wet: More, wayyyy more pungent floral - surprise, surprise. Yeah, my skin DEFINITELY amps floral notes. Less sweet, or else it's overpowered by the now stronger floral. I can't smell the vanilla distinctly, which is good bc I don't usually like vanilla in fragrance. But there is a warmth here. This is a strong bpal - a little goes a long way! Hints of soapiness, probably from the neroli - which I otherwise can't smell, sigh.

 

Dry: It's gotten alot soapier, and the floral notes are still really pungent and for me, overwhelming. I'm not familiar with the individual notes beyond carnation, but they are not delicate notes. Too acrid? And the combo of intense soapiness and intense floral is gross, and the sweetness is now making me think of old ladies.

 

Summary: My least favourite BPAL so far. Too strong, too sweet, too pungent, too soapy. Yech. I had to wash it off - and even after vigorous scrubbing, it still lingers!

When it's wet it's quite sharp and I get neroli...love love love neroli so..

 

Ok dry , erm...this one is another one that baffles me a bit. Neroli is gone.. I detect it at all, this to me is very very sweet. Almost candy sweet and it's gonna sound extremley strange but it smells like banana, not real banana, the fake sweet banana, like milkshake or a candy one. There's also a hint of the apple blossom there and it's stuck between wanting to be a fruity or a floral.

 

On my skin the sweet always takes over everything so..at the moment it's staying a candy sweet smell..it's like I said before. It's slightly artificial smelling. But I still like it. It's nothing like the crazy floral some people are getting..

 

I like it!!! Glad I got a bottle before it went away!

I love the description, but sadly, this one didn't work for me. Possibly because it's an old imp (although I *have* kept it cool and dark)?

 

Pretty and bright and floral in the bottle -- salt and playdoh on my skin. Too bad. I haven't played with perfumes enough to know what exactly the component that self-destructs for me is...

Yum, dancing carnation, sweet pea and orange blossom. The vanilla keeps it from becoming sharp. It would have been a great trick if you could apply Terpsichore on your wrist and have it waltz up to your earlobe ... but why look a gift horse in the mouth?

Wish I could dance like a muse and smell this good.

In the bottle: Pale, well-blended florals; cannot pick out the carnation (which usually jumps out due to its spiciness) or the neroli; not detecting any vanilla either

 

Wet on skin: Very sweet, very strongly floral, but still with a light, spring-like quality. The vanilla is starting to bloom as the oil dries.

 

Dry on skin: Much better dry than wet, as the vanilla appears and seems like the same cotton-sugary note that I so love in Antique Lace. Lasts about eight hours on me.

 

This blend is like a coloratura soprano: ethereal, agile, strong and delicately beautiful.

This is really extremely beautiful. Another one that started out yucky in the imp and transformed into something very pretty on the skin. This is really floral, and perhaps a bit too much so for my tastes, though I do really like it! I get the spicy carnation, vanilla, iris, and neroli over a bouquet of indistinguishable wildflowers. Nice!

In the Imp: Holy crap, how did I end up with a discontinued scent? Must've been during the circular swap... I staunchly avoid LE's and DC'ed scents because I'm terrified I'll end up liking them and will never be able to get my hands on them again. Okay, breathe the imp, breathe - it's a little alcoholic and musky smelling. Not too pleasant, but hard to tell what will happen from the imp only.

 

Wet: Oof, lots of neroli. Not at all a favorite note of mine so perhaps not much to worry about here. Very sharp and dry, making my nose "tingly".

 

Dry: The apple blossom has come out to play, just a hint of sweetness behind neroli's bite. I also vaguely get the fullness of the carnation, which ickily does not make this more tolerable but more like baby powder. Still far too caustic.

 

Overall: Neroli fail for me. If you like neroli and think you'd like it even more with a few candy sweet scents mixed in, you'll be a fan.

I love vanilla, carnation, and apple blossom so I am pretty excited to try this. I like neroli but sometimes it can be overpowering, and sweet pea is hit or miss on me.

 

In the imp this is sort of a sweet candy floral scent. I can't really but my finger on any note specifically, but this sweet and light and fun.

 

Yes, on my skin this is a sweet candy floral. A bit powdery, a bit creamy-very yummy! I definitely get the vanilla and carnation and they go great together. Same with the apple blossom-I forgot how much I love this note! So pretty!

 

This was a wonderful sweet fruity/candy floral blend. Loved the vanilla, carnation, and apple blossom. If this was a regular gc I could see myself having picked up a bottle. I'm not sure I would go crazy looking for this, but I may keep an eye out for a bottle one day.

I'm sad; this used to be light and lovely and delightfully soft on me. I had some body chemistry changes, and now it's primarily soapy.
