Crown of Success

Recommended Posts

Crown of Success: An aggressive blend, used for overcoming obstacles. Particularly effective in shoving aside those who hinder your climb to success. Used also in silencing slander and stopping gossip. This success blend has a strong protective aspect that helps shield you from the negativity generated by the jealousy and covetousness of others.

I've got a job interview in the morning, and it was a tough call choosing between Crown of Success and Come to Me. I decided I'd try this one tonight, and see what I thought of the scent for wearing tomorrow.

There's a definite non-perfume scent to Crown of Success. It's got that smooth-but-chalky characteristic in Tarot: the World, and it's got an herbal resonance similar to Horn of Plenty from the Voodoo Blends. This is very definitely made to get results, not to have the wearer tell you how good you smell.

That said, it's very empowering - and simultaneously soothing. I can see how it would encourage you to conquer any situation, and it does feel like there's a protective circle around me. I'm even more comfortable in my skin and could let a hateful comment just slide off me (as proof, my mother called tonight after I put this on; we talked for an hour and four minutes, and her usual mostly-unintentional zings didn't rile me at all - we had a very good, very productive conversation because of it).

If you're wearing this, go easy. It's like Water of Notre Dame - a little goes a very long way. I dabbed Crown of Success on my wrists, in my cleavage, under my ears, and on the back of my neck, and I have no doubt I'll have to suds up a second time in tomorrow morning's shower to remove all traces.

Reading back over the review, I said," ... made to get results, not to have the wearer tell you how good you smell." Don't let that discourage you - this may be an acquired taste, like Horn of Plenty or Water of Notre Dame, but it's beautiful in its own right. If you're open to the "different" scent of the Voodoo and Tarot series, you'll probably enjoy this one.

Wearing: Resiny-sweet in the vial and on my skin. I didn’t have a whole lot of time to sniff and analyze this, as I had a phone interview this morning and had to slather quickly... and they’ve offered to fly me to Washington for an in-person interview.

I called the other papers I've applied to in hopes of getting an interview while I'm out there, and one of them responded within a couple of hours to say "come on by."

And I managed to rearrange the flight I would have taken, extending my trip by a day to talk to the second paper and avoiding a redeye with two plane changes... AND getting into Seattle... on my guy's birthday. :P

Sure, all that might have happened anyway, but who can say? Yeah, I'll be keeping this one. :D

I was lucky enough to score an imp of this one off of ebay. It's an earthy/mossy type scent, one that seems more on the masculine side to me. I'm pretty sure I smell vetiver, and perhaps sandalwood or oakmoss. It's a dark green/brown scent, with a hint of smokiness in the base. My fiance loves it, and although it's not for me, I feel so lucky to have tried this rare TAL blend.

I've found this oil to be quite effective.
I've been using it in meditations, on candles, in the oil burner, and on my skin.

In terms of the scent...incredibly dark, and quite wearable...it reminds me of ground black pepper.

I swear I have a different Crown of Success than everyone else (which has me a tad worried, as it is a decant.) I just annointed a candle with this and meditated on career success. I need something forceful working for me! The smell of this was immediately pleasant. It's somewhat of a grassy, herbal smell in the bottle, but a very pleasant violet cream on the candle. I enjoyed sitting in the presence of this candle as it melted down, wafting this soothing smell into the air. It did make me feel empowered and energetic as I sat there. I am eager to see how this works for me and I am going to have to resist wearing it as a daily perfume :P

This scent is very dark and makes me think there’s vetiver in it for sure, and either patchouli or sandalwood (I get them confused sometimes and in this one, it’s hard to tell!) There may also be a touch of black pepper, but I’m not sure about that, either. No matter what, it’s a heavy, masculine scent, and probably not one that most people would want to wear for fragrance’s sake. I have only worn it with intent on a couple of occasions and while a multitude of good things have happened over the last several weeks, none happened while I was using this blend, so it’s hard to say if it has had an effect on my recent good fortune, or it’s been coincidental.

My boy has taken over my wee decant of Crown of Success. And that is fine with me, because it does strike me as a masculine scent (one that is actually even a bit too masculine for me to pull off).

This is earthy and dark, smells sort of like a dark vetiver with hints of black patchouli in it. I also get a bit of the peppery bite that a few other people have mentioned. On me, this stays dark and murky and kind of depresses me... on my boy, a smooth wooden note comes out in the drydown. It smells like sexy woods and earth on him.

I gave him the decant when people in his life were trying to drag him down... but he's generally pretty lucky and able to shrug off other people's negativity. Now he just smells extra sexy while doing so :P

Reviewed not for smell but for effectiveness...

VERY powerful! I interviewed for a job, using Blockbuster, with a side of STFU in ritual to make my past job references behave, and wore a bit of High John to the interview. Went pretty well, but I came in a strong third (there were two positions). THEN I ordered Crown of Success and started working with it. A month later, one of the jobs turned up AGAIN on computer search, I sent my resume in, and they contacted me, and hired me, without even interviewing anyone else. Other person had left, within weeks, to take another job. I got my original requested rate of pay with no negotiation. Yup, could be coincidence. Could be Crown of Success. You decide.

Updated: So I got the job. Didn't like the location. Kept using CoS. Person at the location I WANTED decided they wanted my spot, so we got to switch. I got the IDEAL location, (nicer office, closer to home) with more hours, too.

Bottom line, I highly recommend this TAL. The scent, well, I don't really care much for it, but who cares when it works this well. The method I use, if anyone is interested, is to dot a tiny bit on each chakra point every day before work. A little goes a long way.

Scent in the vial:

It's masculine, earthy, wet, and oddly warm. Like sun-warmed moist dirt. There's something herbal and “stingy” in there as well. A spice, perhaps? And there might be vetiver in there, too. Interesting and complex, this.

Scent “in use”:

I dabbed this onto my Eye of Horus pendant – I found a protective symbol belonging to a very masculine deity very suitable for this purpose. It's almost all vetiver now – strong and demanding. Even though this isn't strictly speaking in the description, I'm hoping it'll help me overcome any anxiety I feel during my exam tomorrow. A confidence boost, if you will – aim for success!

Effect:

And a confidence boost it was! I was very no-nonsense and get-things-done all day, and my nerves were made of steel – something that never happens otherwise. Oil or not, this is a keeper for me. :P Works for me!

I've had a series of difficult days at work--negotiations that went all over the place--and I found myself using this daily for about five days.

It doesn't smell very good--kind of woody. Things did settle down after a couple of days and I liked the notion that I had the oil "in my corner." I anointed my head with it, which I think is the traditional way to use Crown of Success.

Crown of Success smells very hoodoo. It is strong stuff. I anoint my feet up t my crown with this and also put it on a purple candle and on occasion I put a dab of it on a dryer sheet and in the laundry with my clothes. A few people I came in contact with said it reeked something awful but I enjoy the scent of it. It is a thick scent, adn I apply very little but I guess my body heat amps it up. (the folks that commented may just be the folks intent on keeping me down I think)

I got this just before my fall finals. I had been worried about passing a certain class and tests arent my best area. Also for other areas of my personal life. Becoming a priestess and dealing with the stress of a more than full class schedual. etc etc.

So I got a B in the class I thought I would fail and A s in the rest. My final for one class didnt go so well but everyone else did alot worse than I did so My grade was adjusted to reflect me being in the higher score area. Win!

Also I have am nearing my ordination for becoming a priestess, and it is all comign together nicely. ( I also employed Middle Pillar with cos)

and for those folks that don't like the smell... Well they have been proved wrong (makes no sense to you Im sure but I wont be getting into too many details)

Nearing one of my favorite TALs!

I treasure my decant and will replace it with a bottle asap. I wore it when I had my qualifying exam to become a Ph.D. candidate and although I was stuttering from fear earlier that day and thought for sure I was going to cry at the exam, I remained calm and confident throughout. I have been applying for jobs and fellowships and using it on candles. I have high hopes!

Okay, so I've been wearing this everyday, a little on the back of my neck. I noticed immediately that it made a huge difference. It helped me de-cord from multiple psychic vampires in my life, which alone is worth a lot. But it also seems to shield me from jealousy-negativity. I love my other protection oils, but none of them seem to be as effective at dealing with this specific type of negativity, and this is the type of negativity that I most need help in dealing with.

Crown of Success is powerful and potent! I knew when I smelled it, it meant business. I don't know how to describe the smell. My husband says it smells like myrrh. I think he sort of likes it, but I wouldn't wear it to smell good. It doesn't smell bad, not at all. But it's obviously serious, something that's not to be trifled with.

Since I started wearing it, I feel like I have my mojo back. I have a lot more energy and I seem to have a much easier time doing the things that I have always loved, like painting, writing, etc. I think that before I was being bombarded by psychic attack from multiple sources.

I have been pairing it with different TALs on different days. Some days I wear it with a creativity oil like Hymn to Pan or Nine Muses. Sometimes Anthelion, Power, or a luck or joy oil. I don't know if I'll always have to keep wearing it everyday. I do feel like I have to re-apply after I bathe. But it takes such a tiny amount to work, I'm not going to stress about it.

I am so glad I bought a bottle of this!

So this is a two-fold review. Years ago, I got Crown of Success because I was in a very negative work environment and really used it for the silencing of gossip/slander. This time I used it for the "overcoming of obstacles".

It smells very vetiver heavy (think 13 Horizons), with myrrh and some other resins. It's a thick scent, and a little goes along way.

The feel of it on the other hand is very dual natured - on one hand you feel free to do what you need to do, and on the other you feel very safe and protected. It's very enabling to feel secure enough to do what you need to do, know that you kickass, know that you deserve that compliment, and take it from there.

I had a very productive meeting this morning, and we have identified what we think we need to do. It feels very good.

Initial scent from this is primarily vetiver. Early on, I also thought there was patchouli in here, but patchouli is long-lasting on me and this note disappears, so I don't think it's patchouli. Something kind of herbal and headshoppy, anyway. There is also a golden, incensey, kind of sweet note that I think is frankincense but may also be amber. It's not a super perfumey/"nice" scent but I also don't seem to amp it much; it stays close to the skin and is subtle.

I've used it twice. Once was in a combination with other oils (Jupiter and Steady Work) in a long-term working to save my job from possibly being cut by the state government. This is still up in the air and I won't know the results for some time, but I can report that the cuts are under heavy debate and opposition, and getting thoroughly dragged out over many months.

Then i wore it for my annual review and got a great review! :joy:
