jj_j Report post Posted April 5, 2004 According to the internet, galangal is a cousin of ginger and used a lot in Thai cooking. This definitely has a milder spicy note that's similar to ginger, but leaves me with a much more heated, and less crisp and biting, feeling than regular ginger. Ina Garten Davita Report post Posted July 22, 2004 I got this in swap, from guess who!! First Impression: Smells like booze. Second Impression: Imagine a shot glass full-up with overproof rum and you've had one too many. And just the smell is enough to make you spew. That's what this smells like. Final Analysis: No, don't want to smell like this.
Blood onmy hands Report post Posted April 14, 2007 I was a little afraid to try this on after reading the reviews, but I *love* Galangal single note. This is one of the best spicy scents I've ever tried. On me it smells like a sweet, creamy chai and hints of a dry, spicy wood (sort of like cedar chips). Really warm, comforting, and lovely. I'd buy more of this if it were available.
