Updated 11/11/17 Are you coveting anything currently available from Haus of Gloi? I am not terribly familiar with Haus of Gloi, but the bubbling scrub and pumpkin butter looks good and the Blood Orange Marshmallow scent sounds right up my alley, as do a lot of the yule scents. Are you coveting anything from the Paintbox Soapworks update that just happened? Winter Stories, O Tannenbaum - soap or scrub. Are you coveting anything from Cocoa Pink? I don't really use CP. Do you have feelings about fruitcake? We're talking whiskey soaked homemade fruitcake, not a brick in a festive tin. Personally, I love it and am happy to receive any festive fruity bread product. Any strong nail polish and/or makeup preferences? Personally the brighter and sparklier the better for all of it. Except blush. I don't wear blush at all. How do you feel about pomanders? I definitely enjoy them! How do you feel about savor soaps? I do like what I've tried - I would probably be more into the soap scrubs or whipped soap than the soap itself. Or Perfectly Posh? I know nothing about this brand at all. But if something looks like I'd like it, I'd be happy to try it! Favorite animals? Bats, owls, spiders, frogs, cats, dinosaurs, cephalopods...not the most Christmassy of critters, but I am a sucker for cute animals in santa hats. Weird question, but it's on my mind: Do you have a strong preference for consumables (soaps, candles, food, etc.) over other stuff? Not really. Would you be interested in one of the Colorpop pallets? Anything else from Colourpop? I tend to prefer shadow crayons to pressed shadow and honestly none of them really pops out at me, no pun intended. I am curious about the liquid lip color, though. Would you like any holiday music? if so, do you prefer a CD or MP3? Yes! I'd prefer CDs or Amazon music - I especially like rock and roll versions of classics. Do you like toffee or fudge? Fudge, absolutely. Not a big fan of toffee. Are you interested in anything from my etsy shop? https://www.etsy.com...winklentwilight(bags, stuffies, hats, fingerless mitts, lefse cozies...) I absolutely love all of the stuffies! I really like the geeky print project bags, but don't have a lot of use for them, unless they were modified to be more like a handbag. How do you feel about amigurumi (little crochet stuffies...animals, characters, ornaments, etc.)? I think they are adorbs! If I were to crochet you something wearable, do you have any preferences? Do you like hats, scarves, gloves, other? And would you prefer something fun and whimsical (e.g. fox face hat or owl mittens), something delicate and pretty (e.g. lacy wraps or scalloped boot cuffs), or just something like a basic, no frills beanie or cowl? Do you have a Ravelry account and a list of favorite patterns? No ravelry account. I would especially love something fun and whimsical, a shawl or really big scarf would be especially cool. What kind of hot drinks do you like, and if tea or coffee or cocoa or cider or alcohol, give specifics? Please NO cocoa. Honestly, I'd probably prefer no tea at this point as well, as I have way too much of both. Coffee would be great - I have a grinder and would be particularly interested in seasonal flavors or local roasts. And I LOVE mulled white wine and mead and cider. What kind of candles do you like, scent, etc? Candles and other home scents are among the things I really do not need more of this year, sorry. Mixes or seasonings for the kitchen? Yes please! Garlicky, spicy, are good. What is something new in your life that you wish you had more "things" for? Not that I can think of, but if I think of anything as I see other people answer, I'll update. We do a lot of baking and holiday good ridiculousness around here...house specialties include lebkuchen (flourless, they're mostly nuts, spices, candied fruit), marzipan, butter caramels (flavored or plain), shortbread crisps, and savory cheese shortbread. Any of these sound appealing? Every single one of them. *makes nommy hands* What are your top places to get a gift card from? Starbucks, Amazon, any B&B store you think I might like. Which holiday symbols/themes do you like the best (or least)? Such as Santas, snowflakes, reindeer, etc. I tend toward animals in silly Santa hats, snowmen, honestly, I like it all, but not country kitchy. Do you like puzzles? Yes! I love puzzles - jigsaw, little figity logic puzzles, all of them. Do you have a strong preference for numbered packages vs randomly picking with maybe a few hints along the way? I don't have a strong preference one way or another, so whatever your whims dictate. Are you jonesing for any particular BPAL right now? Anything you are just dying to try, even just a sniffie? My wishlist is pretty up to date, so there's nothing additional I really desperately want at the moment. How do you feel about the following flavors/ingredients: Coconut? I like it - I prefer it with creamy flavors and textures - so coconut cupcakes or coquito are amazing, not such a big fan of coconut macaroons. Mint? I love peppermint this time of year. Lavender? Yes! Rosewater? Sure - I tend to like floral flavors. Cardamom? Yes please! Candied citrus peel/marmalade? This is one of my favorite things. Unfortunately, I am on medication that forbids grapefruit, which is one of my great sorrows ( but worth it not to migraine every day, alas). Anything to absolutely avoid? Dill outside of pickles, BBQ or smoky flavors (I like actual BBQ, but I dislike it out of context and "smoke" flavor just tastes gross to me), blue/veiny/stinky cheeses. Really intensely bitter flavors (my 7 year old likes darker chocolate than I do). Would you like anything crafted for the storage or transport of the BPAL? (Travel imp containers, boxes for 5mls, bottle cozy, etc.) If so, do you prefer them to be plain or decorated? If decorated, are there any motifs or art that you'd particularly like? Not really. I don't need bottle storage, unless it comes with a magic spell that will magically organize the bottles that are all over my bedroom (I have an entire art cabinet for them, I just need to put them in there). A small imp cozy for travel wouldn't go amiss, but definitely not one of my priorities.

Questions that were added/asked in the SW Forum Post: Hibiscus seeds? No thank you. We have a hibiscus plant that has utterly taken over the backyard. Off-color needlepoint? Yes please. I have a pretty wicked sense of humor. *waggles eyebrows* What interests you from the latest (pre-Halloween) update? More than I expected! I’m very interested in all of the current Lunacy offerings: Leda, Coconut Meat SN, Starstruck: Libra From the Lilith/Motherhood update:Scents I'm curious about and want to try (decants would be excellent): "A Little More Tea" "Baby’s First Krampuslauf" "Connecting Flight" "Good Morning London" "Heavenly Spark" "Little Lady Frankenstein" "O The Joy of My Spirit!" "Stonehenge at Dusk" "Texare" Scents I'm pretty sure I want/would buy: Reapers Gonna Reap Spider Witch The Great Python Snake From the Trading Post: I'd love to try: Lilith's hair gloss Tag Upon Avon The Great London Spaghetti Hunt and i'm pretty sure I "need" The Serpentine Like beer? What kind? Booze? I used to love a good dark Stout, but unfortunately being gluten free that’s not really an option. I’ve not yet found a gluten free beer I really like, because they tend to be very light. But I am open to gluten free craft beers! Just be careful that they aren’t “gluten removed” beers. Those aren’t really gluten free and will make me sick. Most liquor is gluten free, but if there’s added colors or flavors you may want to check. This is a really handy list/guide that’s up to date: http://urbantastebud.com/gluten-free-alcohol-list/ If it’s something homemade like everclear with added herbs or flowers, it should be fine as long as barely, malt, and wheat aren’t included. Malt beverages (like wine coolers) are NOT gluten free and no good. My preferred liquor is Gin. I used to hate it, so now I love it, but I’m a bit of a snob. Hendricks is my absolutely favorite. I also love flavored liquors. I tend to prefer fruity or floral but not sweet, drinks. I have a fondness for cordials and liquers. Knitted items? Type? I love the idea of knitted stuff, but being in Florida there’s not much opportunity to wear them. Loose knit and knitted “lace” would be best. I do have a thing for fingerless gloves as most indoor venues (including my office) are kept freezing cold to combat the heat. I tend to prefer jewel tones and/or earthy colors (muted, sea-blues and greens and grays). Caramel? Love it. Salted. With Chocolate. With Marshmallow. With fancy flavorings. It’s just gotta be gluten free (it usually is). Would you be interested in home made food items? Yes, as long as they are gluten free/made in relatively gluten free area. (I know regular kitchens can’t be totally gluten free, but as long as it’s not near bread or flour or anything). Also! If something contains apple, just let me know so I don't let the significant other have it. (He can't tolerate apple) YES!!! To all of the below, especially rose petal liquor. - garlic dill pickles - blackberry jam - dried honey crisp apples - applesauce (with or without red hots) maybe no red hots - elderberry syrup (with honey and apple cider vinegar - great for immune boosting) YES! I love elderberries and elderflowers - honey from our bees - rose petal liquor (made with our own rose petals and everclear but diluted down a bit so it doesn't knock you over) - baked goods of your choice, what do you like or dislike? Baked goods are pretty much out, unless your kitchen is completely gluten free. Would you be interested in project bags/pouches? It depends on the size and shape. Drawstring pouch bags maybe not, but something like a side bag, messenger bag, purse, yes! Are you allergic to any fiber or do you know what kind of yarn you prefer? No allergies here! I’ve not had enough experience with yarns to have a preference, except all of my experience with acylic is that it’s been really itchy. I have no issue with animal fibers. Would you want a quilted pot holder? (for me no because i make them) Actually I need pot holders, of different sizes, so yes! Do you have any prefered flavour of shortbread? I have a fondness for shortbread of any flavor. Earl Grey and Lemon are favorites, but again, it's gotta be gluten free, and made in a gluten free kitchen. Is there anything you'd particularly like to get from the UK? I'm not sure. I don't think so? Maybe tea? Socks/sockdreams/etc? Yes! I've been wanting more funky socks, and some more knee highs but I'm not sure exactly what I want. Stripes are always good. I'm also on the look out/in need of "sock tape" or something that will keep knee highs and high socks from slouching. I haven't looked at the sockdreams site in years though so I don't know what I want anymore. Is there anything you would like to get from Japan? I'm not sure. I really miss Japan (I visited in 2007) but now that I'm gluten free I can't really partake in the food goodies. I like anime but there's nothing immediate that comes to mind that I'd want. Do you like things with Pumpkin (or Pumpkin Spice?) Yes!!

9/17/15 Pumpkin? YES. PUMPKIN. YES. If it smells, tastes, or looks like pumpkin, I'll probably like it. Booze? I don't really drink much normally, and since I'm still nursing right now, I'm choosing not to drink until she weans. Want anything from Yellowstone? Be it postcards, key chains, shot glasses, pint glasses, or huckleberry what have you? I like postcards, and I've never had huckleberry anything, but I wouldn't mind trying it. Partly just because I just love the word huckleberry. 9/18/15 I know there is a question about "decorating style", but if you're comfortable, could you should us some photos of your spaces? For those of us who like to art and craft, it can be nice to have a visual sense of decorating style! We've been living in our house for a few weeks, but the movers just brought the majority of our stuff this past weekend, so it's kind of a mess of boxes and bins right now. I'll try to post pics once things have been neatened up a bit, if you like. And of course I rambled on about our paint colors in my questionnaire. (<--Look, I spelled it right!) 9/19/15 For those of you who don't drink alcohol, can you specify if you live with any drinkers or ever have alcohol on hand for guests, vs. abstaining and preferring not to have it around at all? DH doesn't drink often. If he does, it's just a beer. And if we have anyone over, we'll buy beer or wine at that point. We just have a dusty bottle or two lurking somewhere, but they rarely see daylight. Are you a fan of the TV show Penny Dreadful? No, but I keep hearing about it and I wouldn't mind trying it at some point. I don't really know what it's about, just that a lot of people on my FB friends list love it. Ditto Welcome to Nightvale (Night Vale?) although I do know that's scary and I think maybe scary in a way that would appeal to me, i.e., Lovecrafty/existentially weird/slyly humorous. What are your coffee and tea preferences? Do you prefer one, the other, both, or neither (and if it's neither, what about things like hot cider and cocoa)? Loose leaf or bags, whole bean or ground? Is caffeine OK? Any gadgetry you're in need of? Any brands or flavors that you particularly love, loathe, or want to try? All of the above, but I love coffee most. In terms of format, I used to be mildly snobby, I would grind my beans and make a French press pot every time I wanted a mug. Then I needed something faster, so I switched back to a regular old drip coffeemaker. And recently, I decided I needed something even faster and caffeine-deprived-idiot-proof so we bought a Keurig. We also had $155 in Best Buy rewards coupons, so we got a big bells-and-whistles model for about $35 out of pocket, woohoo. But oh, how the snobby have fallen lol. But FWIW, I do love trying different things that come in K-cups. And I like black tea, white tea, herbal "tea" infusions, and blends. I'm not crazy about green tea or rooibos, or anything with more floral flavors (lavender, rose, violet) or too much fruit. Like, apple cinnamon or orange spice are good, but otherwise I prefer tea to taste like tea. What's your sense of humor like? Do you enjoy puns? Play on words? Dirty humor? Dry humor? Who are some of your favorite comedians? I'm fluent in sarcasm, but I also like somewhat silly stuff. My favorite "cheer up" movie is Hot Fuzz, which has a lot of both. (And if you've seen it, my favorite line in that movie is "Owwww. This…really…huuuurts." I crack up every time and DH shakes his head at me.) Also, when we watch The Princess Bride, "Anybody want a peanut?" makes me laugh every time. Fezzik is just so chill, but you can tell he's enjoying driving Vizzini crazy. Do you like board games? If so, which ones? Traditional or more unique? (like Settlers of Catan, Small World, Red Dragon Inn, etc) I like them, but we never play them because it's usually just me and DH. (Emma is still too young.) Is there anything that you specifically do NOT want to receive? As everyone else has said, decorations with hanging strings or swallow-able pieces are a problem because we have cats, but also because we have a little person. Plain or fun socks? OKAY. I LOVE SOCKS. I love cute socks, funny socks, plain socks, fuzzy socks, warm socks, toe socks. I love socks. Fuzzy are my favorite, but I love all socks. Name one (or as many as you would like) thing you would like to learn more about? Well, one of the reasons we bought our house is that it's on an acre of land and I have always wanted a garden. Now, of course, I'm second guessing myself like crazy because I've bought a couple of gardening books (a Better Homes & Gardens and one specific to the Midwest) and sometimes I don't even know wtf they're talking about. Also, I own a sewing machine but I have no idea how to use it, so I'd love to learn more about that. But I'm like the dumbest of the dumb when it comes to stuff like that. I may have to take a class and have someone actually point to things and tell me YOU PUT HAND HERE, PRESS BUTTON, MACHINE GO CHUGGA CHUGGA. Oh, and I like learning about history, particularly local history. Like, since we've moved to Ohio, I've wanted to learn more about the history of the state and even more specifically our town/the area where our town was established. Like, I've been trying to learn which Native tribes lived here. And I like learning about indigenous plants and wildlife, local legends, that kind of thing. Especially "unusual" legends, like the kind of stuff you would find in Weird NJ. (If you've never read that magazine, it's fantastic. I discovered it due to my love of the Jersey Devil legend.) What one thing you would like to do more of? Most of my answers boil down to needing more time, and there's nothing you can do about that. Unless you've got a Time Turner you want to lend me! What are some things that fascinate you? Or, What would you like to know more about? See above, re: legends and folk stories, "monsters" specific to a given area, ghost stories, unexplained stories. Also, psychology and psychological experiments about human nature. 9/20/15 Would you like any cookie butter (just to be clear, store-bought, not home-made, and does contain wheat since it's, y'know, cookie butter)? I've never had it, but everyone raves about it so I'd love to try it. Is there any particular piece (or pieces) of art (painting, photograph, etc) that speaks to you in some way? Honestly, you could pick just about any Van Gogh painting and it will give me all the feels, but that was his genius. I know there are other works of art that have struck me as windows into my own soul, but I can't pull any of them out of my brain at the moment. What kinds of things would you like from the Lilith BPAL or BPTP update (or are you joining a decant circle?) The only ones that grabbed me (scent-wise; they were all wonderful to read/look at) were Blood And Judgment So Well Commedled, Muddy Puddles, and especially The Worst Pillow. Do you want to received knit or crocheted items? If so, could you describe or even link to a couple of items similar to what you would like to receive? Absolutely! I've been wanting a good pair of fingerless gloves/mittens for literally years. I bought myself a pair several years ago, but they were poorly made so they ended up falling apart fairly quickly. What thing do you want to do (or get) but you keep putting off for one reason or another? Fingerless gloves/mittens. Also, I've been meaning to try BPTP Castitas bath oil for (again) years, but I never seem to catch a decant circle and I can't bring myself to spend the money on a whole bottle plus shipping in case I don't like the smell or texture. 9/21/15 Would you like anything from Lush? This was on my questionnaire, but: Rock Star, Sultana of Soaps, Ocean Salt, and Sonic Death Monkey. I know the last one (possibly the last two) is disconned, but sometimes they bring stuff back. Do you prefer hand-made or store-bought? No preference at all, I appreciate either! SPICY! Scale of 1 to 10, with 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" and 10 being "ghost pepper? scorpion pepper? I laugh at these! I love as much heat as you can throw my way!" Where are you? Let's say I'm an 8.5. I LOVE spicy food up to the point that it kind of clears your sinuses and makes you pant a bit. But if it makes me cough, I may end up in a coughing fit and I don't need that. What is your BPAL "Holy Grail"? Sadly, probably De Sade. I love original Spanked, but that's never coming back (I got a couple bottles of the resurrection, but it's definitely not the same). De Sade was the most perfect clean, rich black leather without any "chemical" smell like I get from some black leather scents. I finally got an imp, fell in ecstatic love with it, and it was promptly discontinued before I could place an order for a bottle. Analog or Digital? Or Both? Mostly digital, although for some reason I have a hard time focusing on non-fiction books in ebook format. It's so weird. But otherwise, yeah, digital. What scents from other perfume companies are you really wanting to have in your collection and or are just really wanting to test? Companies like NAVA, Arcana, Solstice Scents, Possets, Haus of Gloi etc.....? I've always meant to try Arcana's Filthy Viking, Villainess Jai Mahal, and Haus of Gloi's Blood Orange Marshmallow and Snow Wolf. I'm sure there are others that I just can't think of right now. 9/22/15 Do you have an affinity for any specific animals? Wolves, crows, polar bears, foxes, lynxes, black cats, deer. Kitchen Needs or Wants? I always need kitchen towels, either seasonal ones or just cute everyday ones. My kitchen is painted a pale silvery beige with white trim and cabinetry, but the accent colors I'm incorporating are light blues, greens, and blue-greens, with maybe tiny dashes of lavender, coral, and red. Makeup! Do you like it, would you want some? If so what brands do you like to wear? I love makeup so much, but I almost never get to wear it anymore. When I go out, I usually just slap a little powder on my face. I wear Carmex or some other lip balm way more often than I do lipstick. I've fallen into a dowdy, frumpy SAHM rut and I need to snap out of it! Chocolate fiends ahoy! What kind of chocolate do you like? Do you like any other things in it or just plain good ole chocolate? I love dark, almost bitter chocolate, and I love smooth, creamy chocolate. I love good plain chocolate, and I love chocolate that's full of yummy add-ins. I am pro-chocolate. Would you be opposed to receiving a ton of Halloween themed items? No, I LOVE Halloween stuff, and just general autumn themed stuff. Decorating for holidays and changing seasons is one of my favorite things, and autumn is my favorite season, so practically any cute or pretty decorative thing would be put to use eventually. And I'm a witch, so anything specifically witch-themed may see some use year round. 9/23/15 Would you be interested in any special little thing I might be able to pick up from the Great Lakes Bat Festival this Saturday? Both Janell Cannon (author of Stellaluna and other kids' books) and Fiona Reid (illustrator for lots of animal field guides) will be there, so would you possibly be interested in something like an autographed copy of Stellaluna or one of Cannon's or Reid's other books? Or something from the Organization for Bat Conservation, like a shirt or other swag? I love Stellaluna! So beautiful. So anything Stellaluna-related would be lovely. What items from the Weenie update interest you, should you have to option of getting anything as a gift from your Witch??? Would you be ok with decants, or bottles? In order from "definitely want" to "wouldn't mind trying": (decants, half decants, bottles, whatever) The Witches(!!!) Frosted Pumpkin Spice Cookie Pumpkin Spice Everything SN Apple Cider SN Pumpkin Cheesecake Cupcake Witchcraft Scene Le Revenant Magnificent Autumn Second Spring Sonnet d'Automne What's your favorite scary movie? I don't really like most modern scary movies because I hate seeing violence and gore. The only exception I can think of is The Company of Wolves. I love that movie. Otherwise, I prefer old fashioned suspense, like Hitchcock movies (the less violent ones, at least), and more cozy movies that are vaguely related to Halloween, like Practical Magic. I love both the book and movie versions of PM. 9/24/15 Blu-Ray or DVD? Either is fine for my player. Game systems - console or computer? Mac/PC? Which console? We have none at the moment. Are you dressing up for Halloween and if so do you need any accessories for if? I just ordered Emma's costume yesterday (the part that I'm not making) and asked DH if he wants to dress up, too, but he was kind of meh about it so we probably won't. She's going to be a little woodland fairy, so I'm not sure what we would even have been to go with that. Oh, BUT! If you come across some cute masks, the kind that only go over the eyes, we could wear those. Talk to me about bags, what kinds do you like? Sizes and styles? Finding the right bag is an ongoing project for me because what I need keeps shifting. Right now, I pretty much need something enormous to carry everything, with a few good pockets, and with really long straps (or an adjustable strap) so that I can sling it over my shoulder even when I'm wearing a heavy sweater/winter jacket. FTR, I love Vera Bradley stuff, but they're expensive and I still haven't found exactly the right thing among their offerings. What are your favorite fandoms and do you want to receive anything related to such? I have a few shows that I like a lot, but I don't really get into fandoms anymore. What are you planning to order from the Weenies update? I think I may get a bottle of The Witches because that sounds amazing. (If I had unlimited funds, I'd get the entire witches/Hecate's Inheritance line, just on witchy principle.) The Last Huzzah of the NY Renaissance Faire happens this weekend and I'm going! Is there anything you might want? (Besides a turkey leg, which won't ship well!) One of my best friends goes every year--it's the day after Pagan Pride, so it's like a whole fun weekend for her. I don't know what they have there, other than jewelry (she always ends up getting a new shiny thing every year), so unless you see something that makes you think of me, I can't think of anything. Do you like comics or graphic novels? Any issues or collections you want to read? I read the first volume of Sandman a few years ago and I wouldn't mind reading the next one. But as far as comic books: Nooooooo, thank you! We have so many comic book boxes bulging with DH's collection. He finally gave up collecting several years ago because we ran out of space. Do you like fanfic? Would you like a story written for you as part of your gift? What characters/fandoms/pairings etc do you like? No, thanks. Where do you have wishlists at? If you could please link to them or to a post that links to them. (Amazon, Etsy, Think Geek, Pinterest, Sephora, Lush, BPAL/BPTP, Soap Box Company, everywhere and anywhere!) This is why I think I'm a terrible Witchee for someone to have. I hardly ever keep up on my wishlists. I have an Amazon "Switch Witch Help" wish list which I started last time I did SW, and I updated it the other night. I always feel guilty about showing anyone my wishlists, because it feels like I'm saying, "Hey, gimme this!" But I'm not! Just consider it a window into what kind of stuff I like. I'll make a blog post with my wishlists as I make or update them, is that okay? If you want info right away, let me know! 9/25/15 Let's say you have indicated interest in receiving a hand knitted item. What colors, exactly, do you like? If you could provide color swatches here or to pinterest (or something visual), that would help out a lot. Color swatches, jeez. Where do I get color swatches? Let me think. In the meantime, here's a swatch-less list of colors I like to wear, as shade-specific as I can be with just words: Rose pink That kind of warm, peachy/coral/rosy pink color (yeah, I see where a swatch would be helpful) Ivory Mossy green Teal Aqua Cornflower blue Amethyst Would you rather receive a bunch of little packages through the round, a couple of medium packages, or one big package at the end? I guess either lots of little ones or a couple of medium ones. I think I'd get jealous of everyone else getting their packages if I didn't get anything until the end lol. For those of us with out-of-country Witchees, would you be happy with receiving a few packages from local to you merchants (say, through Etsy or equivalent)? That's fine with me! If/when you go to the mall, for which store(s) do you beeline? The only stores in our mall that I really like are Bath & Body Works and Gap (for Emma, they don't sell plus sizes). We have a few big shopping strips here, though, with good stores like Books A Million, Michaels, Jo-Ann's, Yankee Candle, Target, and World Market. If we had a Sephora, I'd be there all the time, but there are none for miles, it's shocking! We do have an Ulta, but I've never been inside. Subscription Boxes? I have never tried subscription boxes. Would Witchees like something from IKEA? (Or any other not always accessible by everyone store?) We actually do need to go to Ikea, but the nearest one is in Pittsburgh so it'll be an all day trip. I can't think of anything small enough to send, though. I mean, I know they have all kinds of cute stuff like candleholders and dish towels, but I don't know what styles they've got at the moment. I love Scandinavian style, though, so I would usually find something I liked when I went. But right now the stuff we need is actual furniture (we need a second sofa and an ottoman, and that cute blue metal rolling cart) Do you like tarts/candles/incense? If so, what type of scents? I love tarts and candles, but incense makes me cough. I prefer warm stuff like vanilla, pumpkin pie, cookies, that kind of thing. But I also like woodsy scents, pine trees, and sometimes "fireplace" type scents. Is there anything you wish you could have picked up from the Dragon*Con exclusives? I don't even know what the exclusives are, so obviously not lol. I saw people talking about more peach scents, and I do love peaches, but I don't know what other notes are in them so meh. Is there a GC you've been dying to try but haven't got around to yet? I was SO EXCITED when Beth released a scent for Tlazolteotl (in Excolo) because I find her fascinating. (Tlazolteotl, not Beth, although I guess Beth is also fascinating.) But I keep forgetting to order it. The questionnaire asked about gold & silver jewelry, but how do you feel about copper jewelry? Do you like colorful jewelry, or do you prefer to keep it neutral? I love copper. As far as colorful jewelry, I like it, but usually one color at a time if that makes sense. We asked about decorating style, but are you interested in receiving decorations for your home? Are you interested in things that go on the wall or things that go on shelves? Yes, I love decorations! Decorating for the holidays and changing seasons is one of my favorite things to do, I go to the craft store and spend a stupid amount on seasonal silk flowers and cute little signs and figurines and baskets and stuff. I actually just bought more stuff yesterday in preparation for setting up our autumn/Halloween display (which, come November, I will add to and subtract from to make it an autumn/Thanksgiving display) and I can't wait! I just need DH to find where the movers put our boxes of holiday decorations. And at the moment, I'm sticking with shelf/tabletop stuff because we spent an ungodly amount of money on having the house painted and the idea of driving nails into the paint makes me wince. HOWEVER, if you see a cute little print that you think screams my name or something, that's okay with me! I can always stick it in a frame and use the little kickstand thingy until I get up the courage to take out the hammer and nails. Office supplies hound? Pens, pencils, journals, any preference, or favorites? Yes yes yes. I love pens and notebooks! I love all kinds of notebooks, from hardcover journals with fancy covers to little slim paper ones to stick in my purse. With pens, I prefer my everyday pens to be blue ink, but it's just a slight preference. And I love colored inks. One of my favorite pens recently was a clicky pen (I love clicky pens) that wrote in purple. Talk to me about socks! Is there anything, dear, dear Witchee, that I can get for you from Sock Dreams? Anything from another place? I know I've mentioned that I love socks. I mostly wear them in the house, though, because in the winter I wear Uggs and in summer I wear sandals. So I like them to be fuzzy and warm, not necessarily practical for wearing inside shoes. I like foofy chenille ones to sleep in, or long ones that go all the way up. And also mittens are nice, or fingerless gloves. I live near a huuuuge candy store. What kind of candy do you like? Gummies? Caramel? Chocolate? Sour? Sugar-free? I like chocolate and caramel, not too crazy about sour candies or gummies. Okay, sometimes I like gummies, like if it's Swedish fish. And I like Twizzlers (any color) but NOT Red Vines. 9/26/15 How do you feel about animal products? Not so much animal toys or food, but more like furs, paws, bones, etc. No. Are you interested in receiving any restaurant.com gift certificates for your area? Not really, we don't get to go out to eat very often. 9/27/15 How do you feel about "toys" - stuffed animals and the like? I like them, but they'd have to be small enough to keep on my desk or something, otherwise Emma will probably steal them. I think Squishables made a Cerberus that I wanted at one point, but I don't think they make it in the small size. 9/28/15 Did you see the eclipse last night? How do you feel about astrological events, like eclipses? Any interest in the Blood Moon Eclipse scent from BPAL? It rained all night that night, so other than one brief glimpse before the rain (but also before the eclipse began) I didn't get to see the eclipse at all. I sure felt it, though! But no on the BPAL scent. It's got red musk, so bleh. Witchee's, how tall are you? And perhaps, what's your arm span (from wrist to wrist)? I'm 5'9", and I'm sorry but there's no way for me to measure my arm span right now. How do you feel about the 4 elements? Or are you more of an Asian 5 elements person? Do you feel strongly about any of the elements, like a connection or a preference? I've always, ALWAYS been a Water girl, even though I'm a Fire sign. The Fire only comes out once in a while, and I always figured I was mostly Water, a little bit Air (because I love being up high, and I love birds and feathers). Zero Earth. And then I got pregnant, and BAM, Earth. And then we moved here and instead of being a ten minute walk from the water, I'm surrounded by trees and cornfields. And I'm in the baby steps stages of planning my first garden. So I'd say right now I'm Earth > Water > Air > Fire. (Man, if my Witch is the one who asked this question, you probably didn't think you'd get such a detailed answer.) How do you feel about bento boxes? Is it something you would use if you were to get one? Isn't that for sushi? I don't eat sushi. If it could be used for a portable altar (like, I'd fill it with a small bottle of water, packet of salt, vial of oil, etc.) then I'd definitely use it for that. Scarves, shawls or cowls? Mittens, gloves, fingerless mitts or wristlets? Scarves. Shawls are awesome, but I think that would be too much wrapping just to go from house to car to store to car to house. And I have a great cowl that I got from Etsy, but it hangs too far down so there's always a gap right by my neck, letting the air in. how do you feel about online classes? Like, say, craftsy or creativebug? Or even lynda.com? I've never heard of any of these things. But if there's a way to take a class for learning to use my sewing machine, and I could do it on my own time, I'd try that. 9/29/15 What do we want from Paintbox Soapworks? Uh. ALL THE THINGS. My favorites of the ones I've tried are Gingermilk, Pants Relief Elixir, and another one I can't remember the name of (something like sweet dreams, or sandman, or maybe blue moon, or...something to do with going to sleep). But most of them sound so good that I'd happily use soap, scrub, or even wax melts in any but the very few scents that DON'T sound good to me (Creeping Horror, Crimson & Clover, The Fusilier). A few that sound really good are Pink Sand, The Bees' Lament, and Smoky Jack. If I were to make you some art, would you prefer a frame that hangs or one that sits? And what color/style would you prefer? Sits, please! I think I already mentioned this, but we just spent a sickening amount of money on having the whole house painted, and the idea of putting nails into my beautiful paint still scares me. How do you feel about gourmet marshmallows? Like if Cookie Monster were a girl and he had PMS, how he would feel about cookies. Are you a slatherer or a dabber? I'm definitely a dabber. Talk to me, dear witchies, about tea. I know we've covered this a little, but I really need the nitty gritty here- not just companies you like and don't like (Teavana? Adagio? David's? Some tiny place?) but I also want to know the other stuff: top 3 flavors, loose or bagged, the kinds of tea accessories you use- or have always wanted. Be specific. Provide links if necessary. I'm sorry, I just don't put that much thought into tea. I like plain black (my standby is decaf Tetley because then I can have it at night) or Earl Grey when I'm feeling a little more delicate. And I like some herbal "teas" but haven't had my favorite standby (peppermint) in a couple of years(!) because I'm still nursing and peppermint can impair your supply. Villainess is putting out brand new stuff for the first time in a while (as opposed to bringing back former lines). Sooo.... who wants it? Yes! I'd be happy to try Gingerleaf or Saltleaf. Brooke is a goddess and I love her. 10/2-10/3 How does everyone feel about duct tape crafts? Any favorite patterns? I have never done crafts with fancy (or plain) duct tape, and probably never will, but if you are talented in that respect, feel free to surprise me! Are there any flowers you especially like? Yes! I love lilies, especially pink Oriental lilies, and purple or lavender roses, especially sterling roses. Also, lilacs, violets, and any flower that is black or almost black. I have great ambitions for my garden, and someday I'd like to have a section that's all black, or black and white. Doesn't that sound cool? Actually, if you want to, you can check my "garden" board on Pinterest. Would you be interested in any cozies or cases (yarn o fabric, not hard cases) for tech stuff (phone, laptop' etc) or for cups/mugs/bottles or anything else similar. I was going to say sure, but I don't think I'd actually be able to use them. My phone has to be able to fit into its designated pocket in my bag, and I don't usually carry coffee outside. And water bottles just get thrown into my purse. Would you like Halloween or Day of the Dead themed ornaments or a "bunting"? Absolutely! Halloween, though, because DdLM isn't "my" holiday, culturally. I really love the way the decorations look, but I don't want to just take them out of context. Are there witchees who would like book related gifts like a booklight, bookmark, bookseat or something for your reading gadget, like a cover or a light for example. I have a book light, don't need a cover, but now I'm curious what the heck a bookseat is. I make handmade journals, mini albums and similar items. Would my witchee be interested in something like that? Yes, I love things like that. I'm always amazed by people who can turn paper into beautiful books like that. What songs/music/artists/CD's do you like to listen to around Halloween? I don't think I have any Halloween-specific listening habits. Are you interested in leg warmers at all? No, I can't see myself wearing them. Is your Halloween style scary, cutesy, folksy, grotesque . . .? I'd definitely say folksy. In fact, I keep meaning to post my seasonal display on FB now that it's all done up for Halloween, so if you have me friended you can see it. And if you don't have me friended, I hereby give any/all of our ringleaders who have me friended to share the pics with you. I'll go post it after I finish these questions. 10/5/15 I bought the Portal board game last week & it came with a Portal 2 steam free download code. I already have the game on another console & it's one of my favorite series of all time. Soooo, would you want it? I only understand that this is about a video game. The rest is Greek to me, except I actually know a few words of Greek. (So, no, but thank you.) 10/6/15 Have you read The Martian? Or do you plan on watching the movie? No, and probably not. NaNoWriMo - Pertaining to that, how does everyone feel about such things? Will anyone be participating? How about NaNo swag, is there any you want? I've never done it, and I can say with absolute certainty that this is not the year I will be giving it a try. Now, if there were a NaNoSleepMo, I'd say sign my tired ass up. Honey or beeswax products? Discuss. I like! How do you feel about bumper stickers and car magnets? What do you like--cute, pretty, snarky, geeky/fandomy? I like car magnets as long as they're not like super huge. Geeky…let me see, like maybe if there were such a thing as a Slytherin house magnet, that would be cool. We get the short end of the stick, fandom-wise. Do you have any phobias that your Witch should be aware of? Yes, if you send me anything with cockroaches it will probably make me have a panic attack. If you want to be safe, just stay away from anything bug-related unless it's butterflies or dragonflies. Please and thank you! Trading Post Weenies are live! Anything calling to you? That was a great update! The Pumpkin Spice Everything atmo spray and The Unquiet Grave claw polish were my favorites. 10/7/15 Speaking of nail things, it that time of year and I am doing my jamberry order, Would you want some Lovely Jamberry's for your nails? I've never tried Jamberry (and I know at least one or two people who sell it, it just looks complicated to me) but I'd try it if you sent me some and told me how it works. 10/8/15 Do you like or want to try Marmite? Nope, thanks! 10/9/15 Are there any DISCONTINUED (not LE) BPAL oils that you wish you had, or had a little more of? Two for me: De Sade, because I loved that scent, the perfect leather. Antique Lace, because that was Kathy's (jarvenpa) favorite. I had an imp that I tested and passed along years ago because it just didn't grab me, but now I wish I'd kept it. If Beth is ever able to bring back Antique Lace, I'll buy a bottle and just wear it once in a while to be reminded of Kathy because I miss her. Ugh, now I'm sad. Next question. Is there anything fairly basic that you're always running out of and need to buy more of? For me, it's scrunchies. I use them to just throw my hair into a bun most days, but lately I've been using them for Emma's hair, and I swear she must have discovered a pocket dimension somewhere because they just disappear and turn up days later if I'm lucky. So yeah, those cheap scrunchies they sell in the drugstore next to the hairbrushes and barrettes.

Autumn 2014 Switch Witch In Round Questions - in progress
skylarkza posted a blog entry in Skylark's Ramblings
1. I wonder what a potential witchee would think about being bombarded with PUMPKINS in various formats. Because my current obsession just may last long enough to be of use in spoiling.....but I know wouldn't be appreciated by everyone. Would you appreciate it?!? Pumpkin is lovely! I like pumpkin things. Except coffees, but that is because of coffee, not pumpkin. 2. I currently have a CSA and my significant other is perpetually out of town for work, so I've been doing a lot of canning and baking with my vegetables. How do people feel about canned good (pickles, salsa, etc) and vegetal baked goods (squash bread, zucchini bread). Salsas and pickles and other relishes are also all awesome. Vegetable baked goods are also wonderful - if they can survive the journey. 3. Trading Post wants? I have only just discovered the hair glosses, atmos and bath oils and have fallen hard for hair gloss. I would LOVE to try any of the RPGs series atmos (I am a huge gaming geek). I missed Tombstone Hair Gloss and am kicking myself. 4. What direct sellers do you not like and would prefer not to get things from? And also feel free to list any retail brands you really don't like. Avon, etc. I have never used them so. I don't know. I don't recognise most of the names on the list. I tend to prefer products that have relatively few chemicals, otherwise my skin freaks out. 5. How about y'alls coffee and tea preferences? I went into this a bit on my questionnaire. I despise the taste of coffee - except for coffee candies. I love the smell, but the taste is just not for me (many people have tried to convert me). I adore tea. All tea, any tea. Dearest and I have over 50 kinds of loose leaf teas at home and are always on the lookout for more. I love pure, flavoured, whatever. Bagged tea goes with me to work. We are such tea fiends that we have a temperature control kettle, teapot and strainer and multiple floating tea duck infusers. On a slight side note, One thing I don't need is more mugs. Unless it has an eeyore on it. All our mismatched mugs match because they are eeyore. (And Dearest has a Cookie Monster, but that is the only exception). Jasmine is a no-no - it makes me act all weird and paranoid and weepy when it is in a tea. 6. Do you cook? Would kitchen accessories make you happy? I love cooking. And I love useful yet quirky looking kitchen gadgets and accessories(e.g. My measure cups look like Russian stacking dolls). My favourite kitchen gadgets tend to come from jacobjacob (like my beloved mezzalune for chopping), but anything practical and colourful is awesome. I do need a kitchen timer as I could never get the last one (a penguin) to work. 7. How do people feel about creative endeavours? Would you like to receive one? Or supplies to make your own? What do you like? Drawings, stories, poems? It would be awesome to have anything made by my Witch! Love stories, poems, art - the works. 8. What culture or country (doesn’t have to be modern) do you feel an innate connection with? What about it makes it special to you? I lived and taught English in Japan for 2 years, so feel a strong connection to all things Japanese (it is one of my homes), South African culture (I am from there, so obvious) and at the moment have an obsession with all things Wild West both real and fantastical because of a game I am in. But I love discovering new cultures so anything that you would like to show or explain would be awesome. 9. Is there any sort of art commission you would like: cartoony, pin-up, fantasy, realistic, etc? If so, what subject would you like drawn (a picture of you, a character, a loved one or pet)? Anything I love art. An interpretation of my user name (skylarkza) would be awesome. Otherwise my current RPG character or any of my "regular" NPCs. I don't want to bore you, so if you want to know, poke me in an ecard. 10. What do you find yourself doing for fun in your free time? What are your main hobbies and interests? ALL the things! Reading, learning Irish and German, running table top rpgs (occaisonally playing), writing scenarios and LARPs for cons, boardgaming (Yes, I am a nerd), running a bit, baking/cooking or just vegging out on Youtube. 11. Table-top gaming? If yes, what kind, edition, etc? Gaming accessories you long for? Yes. RPGs and boardgames. Oh, Witch. I don't want to keep you here forever. I play pretty much anything (except GURPs and Pathfinder, or 80% of deck building games and CCGs). We have 3 bookshelves almost exclusively devoted to RPG books and comics, and 2 of boardgames. Gaming Accessories - I always love pretty dice! And nice cards are really handy too. 12. DVD movies or games that you wish would magically appear in your hands? Can they be used, through Amazon? I don't watch too many DVDs and pretty much play the Sims. The final expansion for Sims 3 would be awesome! (Into the future!). As for DVDs, To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything love Julie Newmar is one I can never find. I have no issues with gently used. 13. What kind of snacks or candy from other countries/states would you like to try? I am not huge on sweets, but like a few. Tart candies are the best. Or savoury snacks. 14. Do you have a favorite internet meme, character or pop culture fandom? Where do I start? Let's put it this way. The Scion game that I run contains a cat guide named Nyan (the player couldn't think of a name), a Hound of Lugh named Doge (again, player was stumped) and 3 sickle weasles named Er, Mah & Gerd (player wanted to see what I would come up with). It also contains Loki playing Tom Hiddleston. Take from that what you will. I also LOVE the Welcome To Nightvale Fandom and am a 10/11 Whovian. 15. Do you have a Facebook profile (or other social media) that you are comfortable linking to aid your witch in stalking? Please note whether you are willing to add BPALers as friends. Yip. Added in the handy spreadhsheet thingy. 16. Anybody interested in something from RCCC, whether it's con-exclusive merch or from a particularexhibitor or artist? Not sure and don't have the time right now to check it out fully. But I am such a geek - I would probably love anything. 17. How important to you is regular contact / chatter with your witch? And occasional hi is good. Especially since I have a radio-silent ninja witchee. The e-card was awesome. 18. Do you like puzzles/riddles/treasure hunts and that sort of thing? YES 19. If you were to receive music, would you want a physical CD or digital versions? Digital is probably better. I tend to break CD drives. 20. What’s a current problem/annoyance you have that could be remedied but you haven’t had time to address it? Finding a new job! OK. Seriously, other than that it is the great unboxing of the boxocalypse. Sadly not much a Witch can help with. 21. How do you feel about having some sort of trinket to carry around for good luck/wishes? i.e. a small figurine, symbol, card, coin… That's cool. 22. Are you superstitious about anything? Any things you can't have in your house for that reason--bad associations? I prefer to think of myself as spiritual rather than superstitious. Can't think of anything where I'd go no, that can't be in here, unless something happened that I started to associate with the item and didn't want to think of. 23. For the vegetarians and vegans: How do you feel about things (say, marshmallows or gummy candy) made with vegan gelatin or other typically-animal-derived-but-not-in-this-instance products? Awesome 24. Ok, so we've covered pumpkin. How do you feel about the other fall classic – apples? LOVE apples. Especially green tart ones (Granny smith...mmmm...) Not so much floury ones (pink lady) 25. Do you have any fabric or skin-contact aversions? Wool is sometimes scratchy until it gets a few washes. But, that's all i can think of. 26. How do you feel about Christmas/Yule ornaments? Eeeeeeeeeee! 27. How do you feel about Hello Kitty, and Hello Kitty accessories (including mugs, cups, etc)? Funny thing. I used to hate Hello Kitty, now I love her. So awesome (but preferably no mug) 28. If you had a week free where you could learn anything, with no financial restrictions, what would you want to study? In ONE week? Long term would be teaching. But ONE week... hmmm... My brain says intensive Irish course, to get me closer to being able to teach here. My heart says a creative writing workshop. 29. Do you enjoy poetry? Who are your favorite poets and what type of subject matter do you like? e. e. cummings, Sylvia Plath, Ted Hughes, Wordsworth and more. Almost any subject matter is fine my me. 30. Would you enjoy receiving something related to a favorite Disney character? Yip 31. How do you feel about cute things as decorations or accessories? (Example: Would you enjoy this stationery - or do you prefer elegant/creepy/neutral stuff?) I love cute and kawaii things. I like most "styles", though my last flatmate did get me a little worn down on uber goth. 32. What is something you'd really like to recieve from your witch? Please be as specific as possible - no, "Oh whatever she thinks is fine!" Hmmmmm. Something that they think is cool and relates to their hobbies. With an explanation. That would be awesome! More awesome than a specific item. If I have to go with a specific item, probably The Six-Gun Tarot (it's a book, like I said I am a liiiiitle obsessed with Western and Weird Western things at the moment) or Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy 33. Go to your music source of choice - on random or shuffle setting if possible - & share with us the 10 most recent songs/artists. As per my iTunes (shortening some soundtrack artists from 15 billion people to the soundtrack)... 1. 2500tons of Awesome - The Pacific Rim Soundtrack 2. The Trolls - Frozen 3. Kiss The Girl - The Little Mermaid 4. The One That Got Away (Acoustic) - Katy Perry 5. Overjoyed - Bastille 6. The Game of Love - Daft Punk 7. Fighting Trousers - Professor Elemental 8. Vanellope Von Schweetz - Wreck It Ralph Soundtrack 9. Paradise (Radio Edit) - Coldplay 10. Blue Collar Jane - The Strypes 34. Tarot cards, rune stones and/or other divination tools yay or nay? Yay 35. Do you have a Celeb crush? or someone who you just can't get enough of....other than your SO I may be a Hiddleston fan. Especially a Hiddlesworth fan (Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth's friendship is so adorable) 36. Glitter? are you okay with it, or hate it like the plague? Glitter! *throws it in the air* I actually have glitter body dusting powder... it was for a character, I swear! 37. If there was another time period other than now that described your style/aesthetics, what would it be? Uhhhhhh... Renaissance meet Boho 38. If you had to pick one or two quotes to live by, what would it be and why? I don't like picking quotes to live by as life is so fluid, but at the moment this one would resonate with me pretty much constantly: To thine own self be true. 39. Do you prefer physical books? CD books? eBooks? If eBooks do you have preferred format, kindle/nook/kobo/PDF/ePub/ect? eAudio? I prefer physical books, though I do have the kindle app on my ipad. 40. Smut! Yes or no? If yes, what kink, er, kind? Yes. anything consensual (no mind control kink, thanks) 41. Ebooks! Yes or no? Meh? 42. If you were to get a custom bottle from House of Gloi made for you what notes would create your perfect blend? I have no idea! I am no note mixer! Blueberry, Sweet Cream, Marshmallow & Ylang Ylang looks good - though pomegranate could sub in for the berry. 43. If your witch were to take a photograph (or paint or whatever) of something just for you, what would it be? Landscape? Flower? Critter? Something to illustrate a favorite quote? Critter! 44. What is your favorite Halloween animal or other symbol/decoration? Black cats 45. Makeup, especially of the indie variety. Nail polish, nail wraps, eyeshadow, lipstick/gloss, etc. Y/N? Specific preferences (color, finish, product, brand, etc.)? I am a huge urban decay fan and am open to trying anything. I like unusual colours - sparkly is good. Anything 2unusual" (what's a nail wrap?) would need a how to. 46. How do you feel about profanity and off-color humor? 95% fine, unless a minority group is being joked about. 47. I make hairsticks...would you like/use them? I would be curious and would need instructions. 48. Does anyone here LARP? If so, what kind of LARP? And what kind of character do you play? Yes! Mostly Theatre/Parlour LARP. I NPC in a friend's game as the most non-sterotypical Glasswalker Ahroun ever, Phoebe. She is super protective of the cubs (is Den Mother) . Sometime switched out for Eudora AKA Wikipedia - Glasswalker Ragabash/troll who believes in psychadelic rainbow stealth, no other long running characters at the moment. 49. Would you completely freak out if I sent you a chocolate covered scorpion or some other food oddity? This includes things like 'bacon powder' from thinkgeek.com. I wouldn't, as long as it was vegetarian - so no bugs or bacon! 50. This has kind of been covered, but, are you ok with receiving canned jam (from a veteran jammer!) and if so, what flavors would you like and not like? Yes! I love strawberry (even though I am allergic). apricot is also good. Or surprise me with something unusual (tomato jam is quite nice) 51. Let's talk nail polish. What colors do you love? Hate? Which brands are you dying to try? Have you ever used indies? Do you like glitter? Any textures to avoid (glitter, sand, etc)? Love polish though I don't wear it much. I've been building an OPI stash but am game for anything pretty. I especially love multi toned shades - the ones that change colour as the light reflects off them. And I love glitter. I have no idea about textures because I haven't tried any before. 52. How do you feel about getting a special Halloween plushie? I would love it! My birthday is in October so I have a small collection of Halloween plushies (Halloween Hello Kitty, Halloween Stetich, Halloween Chibi Cthulhu and a starbucks bear wearing an owl costume - my "Owlbear"). 53. I'm in Japan, anything specific you might want from the land of the rising sun? Uh, all of it? No seriously, I lived there for 2 years. Your local Hello Kitty phone charm would be awesome, as would melon flavoured kitkat. If you are willing to try and ship the teeny eyebrow razor-sticks, that would be cool - but I don;t know if it is legal. 54. Are there any GC scents that you know you love, but for whatever reason, keep putting off buying bottles of? Miskatonic University, Al Azif, Centzon Totochtin and Temple of Dreams are all ones I keep putting off. 55. I know not everyone likes Lush products, but if you do, which Lush items would you like to get from your Witch? I do, I especially love the bath bombs and jelly soaps - though I have 2 LUSH stores really close by. (But if you could find a sliver of Demon in the Dark soap, you would make me giddy with joy. 56. Is there anywhere (in the US) that you are dying to get away to? Also when would you be able to get away. Would this even be something you were interested in? If so, go look at the Southwest sale for routes and dates and times. I live too far away for it to be practical unless I was planning a trip anyway. Yay other countries. 57. If you are ok with receiving t-shirts, what size are you, do you prefer tissue tees, normal crew tees, babydoll etc? I normally get standard unisex/mens t-shirts. XL. I do like babydolls (and love vneck babydolls), but they have been fitting a little... snug... the last few years. Running may help that, but at the moment I am sticking with standard shirts. If you want a better idea of sizing, I normally get my XL shirts from ShirtWoot or Qwertee (and recently got 3X blouses from Holy Clothing, which are a bit loose). That should help if you want to cross reference size charts. 58. THINKGEEK! Who loves it - do you have a wishlist on there?? What are some things you are jonesing for on there for under $20? Yip - and it is mostly ice cube trays which make AWESOME chocolate molds! http://www.thinkgeek.com/brain/gimme.cgi?wid=82118dd3b&icpg=wishlist 59. Zombies, yes or no? LOVE zombies! LOVE them sooo much. Dearest first realised that he found me attractive at a zombie walk when I asked him to apply blood to a fake bite on my collar bone - while I was wearing a corset. The only zombies I don't like are the World War Z movie, because I LOVED the book and why did they have to buy the title for THAT. 60. Would you like arm warmers/fingerless gloves? If so, what length? just beyond the wrist, almost to the elbow, full sleeves? I LOVE armwarmers AND fingerless gloves. Especially the latter. They are crucial for typing in winter! I like elbow length. Also LOVe socks, but have HUGE calves. I wear XL in unisex t-shirts (most brands) 61. Do you feel a particular affinity for a specific animal/s? Cats. Owls. Octopods (it's a Cthulhu thing). 62. Anyone have any Paintbox Soapworks loves? LOVE her Sorbettos! They are AMAZING! Haven't tried much else. 63. How would you feel if your witch or a minion of your witch showed up in person at your house with goodies? Thrilled? Annoyed? Completely creeped out? If it was arranged beforehand first - fine. If it was out of the blue - totally creeped out. My psycho stalker ex looked up my address and rocked up at my house the first time we met, so people I haven't given an open invitation too suddenly appearing really freaks me out. 64. Do you have a ravelry account? Tell me about your yarn obsessions. Nope, don't really knit. Prefer to sew. 65. Sock Dreams, yay or nay? They look AMAZING! Especially the tenacle-y and stripey ones. 66. Knitted items like scarves, shawls, dishclothes....yay or nay? Favorite fibers? Favorite colors? I don't know if I could bring myself to use a lovingly knitted dishcloth. Otherwise YAY! I live red/purples and bright green/blues. 67. Is your Amazon WL up-to-date? No, but it still has tons of stuff I like on it. 68. If you were to receive handmade caramels, would it matter if they were made with raw cream (unpasteurized)? Wouldn;t bother me at all. 69. Would you enjoy getting a sampling of quality incense taken from various sources? Are there types of incense you know you don't like? Would you want a burner for loose incense and a few charcoals to get you started with that, or would you rather stick to simpler types? Sounds cool - though I would need a how to guide for anything that is not on a stick. 70. I know we already had a question about needed kitchen accessories, but what about spices? I have soooo many spices. Though pre-ground cloves! That would be amazing! Or a favourite spice mix. 71. Would you like handmade stationary or cards? How about a quill pen? All would be awesome. 72. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being "gimme that ghost pepper!" and 1 being "oh, that's a bit too much black pepper for me" Where is your heat tolerance? 9.5 73. What is your favorite type of Halloween candy? I never really grew up with Halloween candy, so I don;t know specifically. I tend to like hard sweets (like butterscotches). 74. Do you need or want any cosy footwear, like fluffy slippers, or slipper socks etc? My pikachu slippers got tossed out in the move due to holes and missing tails. I haven;t gotten round to replacing them. 75. What do you most look forward to each Fall? Drizzle! Pretty leaves that go crunch! Reading under the covers! 76. What gadgets do you use in your everyday life and would you like a cool case for them - with your favourite fandom or artwork or saying? My ipad and phone both already have cases, though the ipad's is purely functional and not "cool". 77. Are there any beauty accessories you need or would like? For example make-up brushes, facial brushes or eyelash curlers. Something to keep my eyebrows under control! They are wild and free at the moment. Otherwise, pretty much anything else would need an instruction manual. 78. Would you be disappointed to get one big box, or would you prefer a bunch of little ones? And would you be disappointed if your witch actually had it together early and sent it to you sooner than later? Whatever suits my witch. 79. Stores are putting out their halloween PJs and undies! Fave cleanser? Toner? Moisturizer? What about body lotions? Any particular brand or scent? Lip balms? Yay or nay? Lush mostly, with some Urban Decay spritzes thrown in. I prefer minimal chemicals (hence LUSH mostly) and non-harsh scents. Don;t really use body lotions (though I should) and love lip balms. 86. Is there anything you would like from Salem MA (mugs, keychains, postcards, etc.or witchy supplies like incense, candles, books)? Books? 87. Would you be interested in any of the items in LisaNut's etsy shop? The purple boa is awesome 88. Spiders (as in cute knit kind) yes or no? Love 90. Any kind of bags - big, small, medium, purse, grocery, etc? Bags that you can sling on your back or over shoulders. Not a fan of handbags or purses without shoulder straps. 91. Would something from the Tokyo Game Show (e.g. postcards, fans) possibly interest you? I still have tons of these from when I was in japan. 95. Would you enjoy any of these couple rings? Or anything from the same store's Halloween collection? The couple rings just aren't me and Dearest's kind of thing. The cuffs are cool though! 96. If you imbibe at all ... preference between: wine/beer/cocktails and then glassware and/or bar-ware? cocktail gadgetry? Books on the subject/recipes? would you want sample bottles of local/regional/small batch craft spirits if they were home decanted and labeled? I don;t drink! Mocktail recipes would be awesome though. 97. Would you like some chai, lemon, rose water or other flavored sugar cubes? Yes 98. Jamberry nail wraps? They look cute, I'd like to try them. Especially Let It Snow, Fright Night, Monster Mash, Batties, Pumpkin Spice - who am I kidding, they are all adorable! 99. Hyperbole and a Half in softcover. 100. Are there five things under $25 at Birchbox you would like? The Royal Rose Simple Syrup OPI Alpine Snow Karma Organic Spa Nail Polish Remover Minimergency Kit Kusmi Tea 101. Do you want anything from the Fatherhood update at the Post? Flying Kites 102. Street art! Into it? Not into it? Meh? Can be cool. I like cute ones rather than "icky" ones. 103. If you could only pick one note that you love (e.g. Vanilla, Orange, Lavender, Rose) & you could only wear/have perfume, etc in that note, what would it be? That's mean! Probably Vanilla. 104. What are you interested in from the NYCC exclusive list? See 93. Though anything would be appreciated. 105. Most anticipated "Weenie blends? I am curious about many of the single notes, especially fog machine, stage blood, grave dirt 106. Caffeine or no? And is this a health or preference? Not much. Except in black teas and Mates. Just tend not to like things that have it. 107. Are you interested in anything from the MAC Rocky Horror or the e.l.f. Disney Princess make up collections? The what now? That sounds AMAZING. I would love either! HUGE Disney & Rocky fan. And having just looked at them both - if it weren't weenies and I didn't have to spoil my Witchee, I would probably throw my money at them. Or at the elf villainess collection. 108. I pass this shop every day, If you were my witchee would you like a custom chocolate bar? What would you choose? Plain, white or milk and with what? Rose Petals and Sea Salt Caramel or Dark. 109. Would you like to try chocolate covered Turkish Delight or flower flavoured things (Rose and Violet chocolates)? As long as there is no gelatine, yes. 110. For those of you who like Fantasy or play Dungeons and Dragons... would you be interested in a custom painted miniature? If so, what gender, race and class? Any preferences for a theme, color scheme, preferred weapons/armor, etc? Specific character description you would want me to try to hit? Yes! Something female and rogue or rangerish. OR the foppiest male Orc fencer you can muster! (Call it a challenge - or an old character I was once fond of) 111. Are there any local or national charities that are close to your heart that you know would appreciate a donation in your name? If it doesn't go against your own personal viewpoints - ARC (Abortion Rights Campaign - includes petitioning for the right to abort in the case of fatal foetal abnormalities, rape, incest). Irish Cancer Society (2 friends of mine died from Cancer this last year) And I will be doing a run for Movember where we will get a group page eventually - just no link yet. 112. I have two partial (Backup) bottles of some scents on your wishlist, Witchee. However, the labels aren't perfect, due to a tragic imp explosion. Would you still be ok with getting them? Of course! Labels are nice but not essential. 113. Do you like incense? Or are you more of a fan of essential oil aromatherapy/fragrance oils a la Yankee Candle/B&BW? Or all of the above? What scents do you prefer for those kinds of things? Nag champa? Lemongrass EO for the house? PUMPKIN SPICE EERYTHANG. What companies do you like specifically (if any) - links? I would generally be more inclined to use essential oils and fragrant candles. But Dearest isn't fond of flames, so I have fallen in love with Atmo sprays. Not that I don;t love incense - I just got out of the habit of using it when I had a housemate with allergies. Nag champa and resin scents are wonderful. I had a pomegranate candle once that was amazing. I love linen and ocean scents - pretty much anything goes! 114. Trading Post Weenies are up!! What's everyone interested in? Pumpkin Spice Everything, everything. Boo Hairgloss. The Pumpkins of war... the whole update is amazing. 115. My mom has crocheted a bunch of little witch hats, would this be something you are interested in? If I could think of a place for the little witch hats - but it is late and I can't at the moment. 116. Are you interested in anything from my mom's Etsy shop? The bags are nice - my brain keeps thinking the knitting bags could double as giant dice bags. 117. Are you interested in dried honey crisp apples or italian prunes? Yes 118. Do you need any travel mugs, coffee mugs, tea makers, rock sugar, coffee or tea syrups, etc? I wouldn't mind trying tea syrups or rock sugar. Physical equipment we pretty much have sorted. 119. Is there anything from my shop that you might like, past or present? All of it is amazing. The Tinker's daughter is particularly nice. 120. What are 6 GC scents & 6 others that you would be interested in as imps? You have already spoiled me rotten with imps! -
NEW QUESTIONS ADDED 11.21 3:30 ish Milk or dark chocolate: Yes please! I like to think that I prefer dark, but really, secretly, I think I like milk just a little better, and I prefer bits in (crispies, caramel, fruit, etc). White is nice too. Sooo. Yules. Those just happened. What are you interested in, Bunny? I ordered everything that I'm seriously interested in and have updated my wishlist with what I didn't order. Coin purses: I think I already answered this one, but I probably wouldn't get much use out of one. If your fox were to knit something for you, would it be a lacy shawl or a pair of socks? Yes please! I really truly would love either. Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that? I don't really have a use (or a place) for one, honestly. Are you a Harry Potter fan? If so, which house do you identify with, and why? Would you want knitted things/replicas/accessories in your house colours? YES! I'm mostly Ravenclaw, with a side of either Gryffindor or Slytherin, depending on who's sorting. I would love a house scarf, as I think I already mentioned. Are there any Yules from *PAST* years that you're interested in trying? Including past winter inquisitions? There's nothing that screams at me, but what I want to try is in my wishlist. Let's talk about fruit! Do you like dried fruit or h ate it? Like some but not others? I'm not opposed to it, but dried fruit is not something I'd ever actively seek out unless I'm making fruitcake. I do LOVE fruitcake. How do you feel about cherries? Prefer the sweet or tart versions? Dried? Jam? Salsa? Hot sauce? BBQ sauce? All your cherries are belong to me. I'm not so into hot sauce, though. Bunnies! What is your general philosophy about patterns for accessories such as socks, scarves, and tights? Do you like solids? Stripes? Polka dots? Weird patterns like harlequin-type stuff? Any of the above? Patterns are love. Random not-so-patterns are also love. Bunny, are you interested in anything from Geek Chic Cosmetics? I've never heard of them. I do wear makeup, but other than a nice blue-black mascara, I'm pretty set at the moment. Chile, yay or nay? Herm. Neither? I like a little heat, but I'm set for spicy chocolate and it's not a flavor I actively seek out otherwise. Would you rather have an early reveal, or would you prefer one close to the end of the round? I do love me a surprise, but so long as you reveal at some point, I'm good either way. Stuffed microbes from Think Geek LOVE THEM! Every year I covet the Christmas boxes. Baking supplies? I think I've covered this pretty well? Anniversary Update! Does anything interest you, Bunny? The only one I didn't order was Midnight, since the jasmine has the potential to be fatal. I'd love a sniffie of that one, otherwise, I'm set. Cthulhu, yes or no? Of course! NEW QUESTIONS ADDED 11.7 @ 2:00ish A question: reveal, yes or no? Please yes! I hate not knowing who to thank! I do love the suspense of wondering who is sending to me, though. I usually reveal in the last shipment. Any favorite cuddly characters? I used to be really into Sanrio, but not so much anymore. I love Uglydolls. And Kermit. But mostly I just like soft cuddly things. I don't really collect anything anymore. Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? Sure. Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? Wow, those look amazing. I'd be interested in trying tarts or candles of any of the following: Insomniac, Tease, Teatime With Mary Pickford, Innocence, Bombshell, ANY of the autumn or winter seasonals, Exp 3 or 5, Sex Kitten, Pornography Do you need any holiday recipes? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things? I don't *need* any holiday recipes, but I'd love any you'd like to share, along with just about any baked goods. I like savories as well as sweets, but there's *no* need to avoid sugar. Speaking about candles, how much do you look forward to the BPTP candles that will be launched on Etsy? I don't know if there will be other scents than the Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie one, but is there a specific one you are longing for? Both Samhain and Pumpkin Cookie sound amazing. Does anyone have issues with gently used things like books, etc.? Not at all! Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? Not really. The book post I linked below probably answers this best. I am sort of into Harry Potter fandom, but not madly. Probably my nerdiest passion is Shakespearian adaptations, like Kurasawa's Ran and Throne of Blood, Rosencranz and Gildenstern are Dead and the like. Bunnies, how do you feel about lemon-flavored items, like lemon marmalade, lemon curd, lemon pound cake, or lemon cookies? All your lemon are belong to me. Fingerless mittens or full mitts? Er...I've never had fingerless, so I have no idea! Although reading some of the comments to this one, it would seem that I need some fingerless gloves for those days when it's frakkin cold in my office and I can no longer use my space heater because it keeps tripping the breaker. Not that I'm bitter about that or anything. Pink? I don't hate pink, especially if it veers toward raspberry/purply, but it's definitely not a fave. Thematic scarves? Extrapolating from the Tom Baker scarf discussion, I am not enough of a Doctor Who fan to covet this particular scarf, but I would love a Hogwarts house scarf! Ravenclaw or Slytherin, or Slytherclaw (which would work well with the movie colors). What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. I'm not sure my love for anise and cardamom can be adequately conveyed through the written word. BRING THEM ON!!!!! Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? Very much. I have rather a surplus of EVOO at the moment though. I keep meaning to make my own infused oils and can never gather the right supplies (bottles and such). In terms of vinegars, I love love love them. Any crafty pursuits you’ve been dying to experiment with? Would you like a little kit of something you’ve never tried? Do you need any particular items for your new or existing stash? I would love to learn to knit, but I fail miserably at any yarncraft I try. I have done needlepoint in the past and am pretty good at it, but I haven't done it in years. 2012 calendar? Not really. We get really nice freebies through our zoo membership, so I'm set for my wall calendar. A page a day calendar could be fun if my Fox sees something that just screams my name, otherwise, I'm good, calendar wise. NEW QUESTIONS ADDED 11.4 @ 3:00ish Stealing coldandsleepy's idea to put the new ones first: What was the best holiday present you ever got? Oh wow. A couple of years ago my husband managed to completely and utterly surprise me with a stained glass window that is the perfect complement to one we already had hanging in our living room, which is awesome, both in terms of how well he knows me, how hard it was to find, and the fact that I had ABSOLUTELY no idea. And last year he managed to shock both my son and I with a piano. Also, our daughter was arguably conceived on/around our 13th wedding anniversary. Bunny, what scent are you desperately wanting to be resurrected this year with the Anniversary update? Hrm. I hadn't really thought about it, but I guess, in terms of wishes, I'd go with King of Spades. Or the original Lugnasadah or Mabon. Groupon for Moxie Nouveau! Dear Bunneh, is this something that would interest you? Honestly, I'm pretty much a BPAL loyalist. I've tried half a dozen or so other companies and just never like them as much as I do my BPAL. Bun-bun, what's your favourite colour? Purple! (Real purple, not lavender) Your favourite gemstone? Honestly, as long as it's sparkly and has pretty colors, I don't really have a favorite, per se. I love big chunky rocks of just about any sort. Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? Dragons! And spiders and bats and squids and frogs and lizards and penguins and...oh hell. I'm the mom who continues to buy her kid the 1000th stuffed animal because we don't have that species of buffalo yet. In terms of animals to live with, definitely cats and fish and frogs and lizards. And do you have any intense phobias? Not really. I'm not fond of bees or wasps or other stingy things in my immediate presense, but I love representations of bees. Facebook/twitter: I use my real name on facbook and pretty much only friend people I actually know and/or have had an extensive online relationship with. I'm emandink on twitter. Are you Nano-ing this month, bunny? If so, how would you feel about merch/donations to the cause? Not this year, sadly. Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I like them perhaps a little too much - I actually have some extra boxes, as I moved my BPAL to a cabinet a few years ago. Coffee or tea? With caffine or without? Flavors (if so, what?) or no? Whole bean/ground/loose leaf/bags? Yes please! Coffee must have caffiene, tea can go whichever way it chooses. Love flavored coffee (vanilla/fruity/caramel/spicy), but only if ground, otherwise, love wholebean dark roasts with fruity/caramel notes. Flavored tea strongly preferred - similar likes + chocolate! Coffee grinding preferences as noted, tea bags are more convenient, but I am fully equiped for a wonderful loose leaf tea. Do you have a strong preference for any sort of bath and body product brands (i.e. etailer/etsy type cos, department store/specialty brands like Lush) or are you cool with anything that doesn't smell like Bunnybane? I try to stick with small/woman owned companies where I can, but if you find something that seems right up my alley at Target, I will be thrilled no matter what. ______________________________________________ Good golly y'all! I'm going to throw this out up front because I totally forgot to mention it in my survey - please do not send me anything with artificial sweeteners. I can sometimes tolerate stevia, but a lot of them give me migraines and I just don't like them. I try to avoid HFCS as well, but I'd rather have something loaded with that than sucrolose or acesulfame. 1. $20 from Walgreens... I'd surely start in the makeup/nail polish aisle and would probably pick up some sort of totally impractical color(s) in one or both areas. Then, if I take it seriously and stay with the fun (as opposed to picking up one of the vitamin supplements I'm low on or something), then I'd probably grab some fun sparkly markers or pens (I love brightly colored sharpies), and then hit the chocolate aisle - depending on what I have left over and my mood, I'd either grab a Cadbury fruit and nut, some Lindt truffles, a marshmallow santa or whatever new strange chocolate caramel concoction is on sale. Or maybe HoHos. 2. I live near a brick and morter location for a really, really good spice store. Would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (It's Penzey's if you want to Google it.) I got the giant bakers gift crate for Christmas last year. So, er, nothing from that one, I guess. In general, except for curries, I tend to prefer solo herbs and spices to blends, and I have pretty good coverage at the moment for the basics, but I do love the idea. (And for starfish, I think? Their cinnamons are, indeed, amazing.) 3. Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivites or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? Do you prefer machine washable materials? Do you not care?)? Absolutely love knitted goods. Strongly prefer machine washable and soft, but I'm not allergic to wool or anything. I am all about dark colors and jewel tones - black, grey, purple, green, blue, red. Not so much orange, yellow or pink...or white or brown. 4. Hey swap partner... could you use a new mug? I can always use a new mug, size large. 5. Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? I love flavored/varietal honeys and those maple sugar leaves. Are those regional? Also, Indian and British sweets. In general, I would love to try anything that my Fox considers her regional specialties. 6. Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? We do do a tree and it is a total mishmash of things from my childhood, ornaments gifted to the kids (lots of snowmen and alligators, and snowgators...long story) and just pretty things we've purchased over the years. 7. Would you like a special ornament? Sure! We tend to do cute, but not "country", fwiw. 8. Tim Tams. Yay or nay? Yes please! 9. I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I would love homemade goodies. Maybe not deep fried cookies, though. 10. Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? Sure! I host Thanksgiving every year and Christmas Eve dinner and love holiday themed dishes. 11. My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a body scrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? Ooh, absolutely. I love scrubs (oily/moist sugar typically, although I wouldn't say no to a citrussy salt scrub). I think I covered my general scent preferences pretty well in my questionaire, but holiday scents I particularly like are grapefruit + pine/spruce or sweet/cookie type scents with pine/spruce. 12. Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? If yes, then what kind? Scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? Love candles, especially this time of year (holiday cookie/christmas tree/spicy are alwaus good, although not so much cinnamon). I tend to prefer jar candles or votives, since I have kids and need to keep them out of the way. 13. Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores.... Love them! 14. Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? Love socks (generally not more than knee highs, though, and generally in the colors I listed above or holiday. Holiday socks are love!), love Sock Dreams (especially BBella). I do wear slippers, but I'm pretty particular about them, so that could be tough. 15. Would you wear something like http://www.ravelry.c...astic-cowl]this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? Hrm. That's not really my style, to be honest, unless it were big enough to use as a shawl instead. 16. New question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? Whole bean dark roast or flavored ground. Whole caff. (We have a grind and brew combo where you can't just switch out beans.) Locally, I like Beanetics, but I'm really not that picky. Tea is love and I'm all about the seasonal flavors and chocolate blends here, bags or loose. 17. Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? I've never heard of them. 18. Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? I haven't. I'm not really that into hair stuff, as it's short and pretty low maintainance. 19. Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? I like painting my toenails (my fingers never last long enough to make it worthwhile, to be honest), but I'm not "into" it, per se. I'd love a cool sparkly blue or green (and I do covet the Muppet colors that someone's supposed to be coming out with soonish), but it's not something anyone should go out of their way for. 20. If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) Hmmmm. That's a tough one. Probably Tattered Lace and Ein Kuss Von Krampus from Dark Delacacies. 21. Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? Nothing jumps to mind, as we tend to buy/tivo stuff as we get the itch for it. 22. How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? Generally I tend to be more of a Vertigo (Sandman/Hellblazer/Preacher/that sort) of gal. So, DC, I guess. I'm not so much into superheroes as I am darker graphic novel type comics. 23. would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? That looks awesome, but I try to avoid glycerine soaps. 24. Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? 2 kids (8 year old boy, 18 month old girl, he tends to inherit all wee toys, stickers and to share in appropriate snacky things). Also 2 cats, but they tend to stick to themselves and actually don't really do the treat thing. Same with the fish/snails and the hermit crab. 25. Lush? I love the Buche de Noel cleanser, Lemony Flutter and I tend to like a lot of the holiday bubble bar scents, so long as they aren't floral (I haven't had a chance to go through this year's offerings though). I don't like their soaps at all, which makes me sad, since they tend to sound delightful. 26. Honey/Beeswax? Honey is an absolute yes. Not sure what I'd do with beeswax, but if it came with suggestions, I'd be game, I guess. 27. TJs - we have them around here but they are always horribly crowded on the weekends and I can just never be bothered. I do really like their crumpets, though. 28. Paintbox Yulies? - So, while I'm not up for the soaps, scrubs and lotion are always good. Snoggin sounds devine, as does Comfort and Joy. White Snow, Bright Snow and the Victorious Sun sound nice too...For that matter, looking at the rest of the LEs, Avast, Guy Faukes, Indian Summer and Smiling Jack all sound lovely. 29. If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? (presuming that is that the order can get here in time, bites nails)? I did a pretty good job on this year's Weenies on my on. The stuff on my wishlist is pretty much stuff I just want to sniff. This is prolly as good a place as any to mention that I know my WL is pretty heavy on harder to find/LE type stuff. While I always love BPAL, I totally don't expect it. Will you be away for any part of the round? Nope. Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Nope. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? I adore books. I keep a running list of everything I've read throughout the year here in my .org blog - it goes back to 2007, I think. Yeep. I may just make a new post with my answers to the Bookworm swap, to be honest, since that's prolly the easiest way to keep track of things (here!. But I do love interesting, not too sappy, holiday stories. And I'm jonsing for some Authurian legends at the moment for some reason (not MZB, as I've either read or have on my to read shelves many of her books). Also, I love a Kindle, if that matters. ;-) If you like Christmas music (or anyother holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? I love Christmas and holiday music and I'm a sucker for modern/indie compilations. I have a lot of holiday music though (I wanna say 300+ songs on my iPod), but I haven't gotten anything in the past couple of years. Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I do! Lavender as well. I don't really chew gum though. Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you would prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun, the raw resin itself, anything?) I don't think I've ever tried it, but I'm always up for new experiences. I live in the city of the chickenwing. If I were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter)? I like things spicy, but not necessarily hot, if that makes any sense? Nothing more than a "medium", basically. I do love sweet-spicy combos (chili chocolate, baked goods, etc, but mostly if I can actually taste the flavors). That being said, I'm really not a huge fan of the chickenwing. If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a giftcard from anywhere, as in any store food wise, music wise etc. what giftcard would you like? Amazon is always good, as is Starbucks, since I do like to treat myself there ocassionally. Other online only options would be Sock Dreams, Soap Box, Villainess, someplace similar that my Fox wants to surprise me with. I'm always up for discovering new places. Lego would be fun too. If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? I'm not real nuts about nuts (HA!), unless there's lots of dried fruit and other stuff (e.g., the aforementioned fruit & nut bar). I love caramel, marshmallow, cherries, other fruity bits. Also, despite not being a huge fan of nuts, I do love marzipan. One thing I've learned about myself recently is that while I do love high quality chocolate (or moderate, even) with bits in, I don't like things that are too outlandish, like curry or fennel. My love affair with Vosges is suffering for this fact, as I like their caramels and truffles, but not so much the candy bars. In terms of holiday faves, divinity, fudge, peppermint chocolates, marzipan and I love me a marshmallow santa. Does anything from FusionSweets interest you? The caramel marshmallows sound AMAZEBALLS. As do the chocolate orange marshmallows. If I were to do a pick 4, I'd choose the chocolate marshmallow, grasshopper, lavender and vanilla. For caramels, the apple cider, lemon ginger, star anice etc, and French lavender honey all sound fabulous. But I have alot of caramels about right now, so the marshmallows would definitely be my first choice. Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? I almost bought these yesterday. Everything else I wanted is long gone. Mulling spices? I love mulling spices, but unless my Fox likes to make their own amazing blend, I have a jar of Penzy's on hand for this season.

Thank you for being my Fox! Here are my answers to the questions so far. If there's anything else you'd like to know that I'm not answering here, please ask! So... someone has gifted you a $20 gift card from Walgreen's to ONLY use on things for yourself. No necessities here. What do you buy? A Yes to Carrots Body Butter, a bag of Snickers (the fun size, not the wimpy itty-bitty square things), and a Milani Liquif'Eye eye pencil in Black. I live near a brick and mortar location for a really, really good spice store. Would you use cooking spices and if you would, what would you need? (It's Penzey's if you want to Google it.) I live near another really good spice place, so I usually get my stuff there, but thanks! Do you like knitted goods? If so, what would you like, what colors, and do you have any sensitivities or preference when it comes to type of yarn (ex: wool: yay or nay? Do you prefer machine washable materials? Do you not care?)? I knit myself, so I love knitted goods! I adore alpaca, but I love any kind of wool. I tend to hand wash everything and not send much to the laundry, so hand washable or machine washable is fine! Hey swap partner... could you use a new mug? No, I don't use mugs very often. Is there any sort of regional food/drink/treat you miss or have always wanted to try? Nothing that can be shipped, really. Do you do a Christmas tree? If yes is it themed or specially colored or do you just have all different ornaments and such? I actually don't do a tree, mostly because I'm too lazy but also because I was raised Jewish and just never really felt a huge need to have one. Tim Tams. Yay or nay? Love them! Now, a question of my own: I know some people are squicked out at the idea of eating things that other people make, or the thought of deep fried cookies sends them into cardiac arrest. If you were my fox, would you like to receive some homemade goodies, or would you prefer that your goodies came from the store? I love getting homemade goods! But I certainly don't insist on it -- if you're not a cook or baker, that's fine! Would any Bunny like to receive Holiday serving bowls, trays, platters etc...? Winter/Christmas or Thanksgiving/Fall themed? Honestly, I don't think anything like that would get much use in my house, but thanks! My lovely fluffy Snow Bunny, would you like a body scrub made by me? If so, what scent(s) would you like, if you had to think along the lines of essential oils? And would you prefer sugar or salt? A dryer scrub or one that's more oily/moist? Sure, I'd love that! I love lavender and vanilla scents for bath products, and I prefer sugar (easier on the skin). I'd also prefer drier to moister, as my skin is oily-ish. Dear snow bunny, do you like candles? If yes, then what kind? Scented (what scents), unscented, what colors, do you like them plain/painted on the outside/with decorations attached to the surface/sculpted? I do like candles. My favorite one right now is an opoponax scented one, and it's just white in a glass container. Also what do you think of little soaps? I know most people don't use soaps nowadays but I love the chocolate/vanilla/cocoa/butter/sugar combo scents that I see at beauty stores.... As I said in the thread, I use them! I love fancy hand soaps, and actually, I haven't used plain soap in years. I love cocoa butter anything, and I also have a geranium soap I'm very fond of (I don't recall the brand -- I think I got it at Whole Foods). Socks! Slippers! Do you love them or not really wear them? If you love them, do you also love Sock Dreams? I love slippers, but am too lazy to buy them for myself. I also love fuzzy socks to pad around the house in when it gets cold. I've never ordered from Sock Dreams, but their stuff looks fab. Would you wear something like this if your Fox were to knit you one? If so, what color? Totally! I love deep reds, very dark greens, dark grey, black. New question: talk to me of coffee. Whole bean? Ground? Flavored, not flavored? Decaf, whole caff? Favorite roasters? Drip, french press, keurig? BRING ON THE TEA? Oddly, I don't really like hot drinks. I almost never drink coffee, and I drink tea really only when I'm not feeling well. I will drink almost any flavor of tea, although I don't care much for fruity ones. Who else here loves or would like to try Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics? If so, what would you like? Love them so much! I like any of the lip tars in the red/pink range. Have you tried anything from Cocoa Pink and if so, what products and scents do you like or would like to try? I have not, but some of their scents look very nice. Almost anything foodie appeals to me, except coffee and generally apple, although there are exceptions to the latter. Anybody into nail polish? Any color or formula preferences? Love nail polish SO MUCH. My favorites are OPI and Butter London, and I like Essie, Sally Hansen, and Zoya too. Colors: anything red or blue, and some dark, blackened greens. If you found a $50 bill on the ground and were to place a Lab order, what would be in it? (And shipping is free through the magical BPAL unicorn!) One bottle each of Halloween Las Vegas and Black Apple of Saturn. That leaves me $10, right? So that would go toward a bottle of Aizen-Myoo. Is there any particular holiday DVD that you don't have that you would like to own? Nope, I have my two favorites: A Christmas Story and Bad Santa. How do you feel about superheros? Are you a Marvel or DC fan? Do you have a favorite hero? I used to be a big Marvel fangirl, but haven't been for many years now. When I was, though, I loved Daredevil. Yeah, I know, pretty weird, but at least it wasn't The Silver Surfer. Would my bunny like anything in particular from Lush? I do have access to an actual Lush store, and also wouldn't mind ordering retro items online. Not a big fan of Lush, actually. I don't mind Lemony Flutter, but that's about it. Would you like a Paintbox from Paintbox Soapworks? If so, which scents? I didn’t even know about that shop before Switch Witch, so thanks to whoever pointed it out! I just added a bunch of stuff from there to my etsy wishlist. Do you have kids (or kid-like pets) who your fox may want to take into account, either in terms of a little extra goody or simple safety? I have two cats, but they're good for stuff right now. How do you feel about honey/beeswax? Would you like any? I love honey, especially the lighter, more flowery varieties. I also like beeswax in many forms, such as the hand lotion that's basically a lump of beeswax. Are you a Trader Joe's fan, who either doesn't have a store nearby or just loves their stuff and has a wishlist? Love Trader Joe's, but it's right near my office so I don't need anything from there. The Paintbox Soapworks Yules are up, or at least round one is (updates coming throughout the week). Interested in anything? Yes, and I've put them on my etsy wishlist! (Victorious Sun and Comfort and Joy stuff, if you don't feel like looking at etsy at the moment.) If I were to place ONE LAST Weenie order, (uh, which I will) what would you want me to include for you? Halloween Las Vegas, Nothing but Death, and Boo 2011. I've ordered a bottle of the first two but not the last one. Will you be away for any part of the round? I'm not planning to be. Anyone else with an Etsy store and a member of Tradeaholics (or you could join) and interested in bartering for gifts for their bunny? Everything in my shop is up for trade. Alas, I have no Etsy store, as most of the stuff I make tends to come out either bent or six months behind schedule, or both. What type of books do you like? Dying to read anything? I generally like literary fiction. If you're a member of Goodreads, you can stalk me, here. Right now, I'm reading "The Marriage Plot" by Jeffrey Eugenides. If you like Christmas music (or any other holiday music, for that matter), what kind of style do you like? Traditional? Modern and poppy? Indie? I'm kind of eh on Christmas music. I blame this on my in-laws, who never stop blaring the stuff from about October 1 onwards. Do you enjoy things that taste like roses? For example chewing gum, turkish delight, delicious goo that you eat by the spoonful out of a glass jar (and they all taste of rose. Yes, we have all these in Greece.) I LOVE LOVE LOVE rose flavor! In fact, just last night I had a rose macaron that was to die for. And delicious goo that you eat out of a glass jar!! Also, same question about mastic. Would you be interested in trying it out? (If yes, any preferences? for example you wold prefer to try the chewing gum, the turkish delight, an Easter bun (I can go hunting, some companies make them all year round although it's not the same as the bakery Easter ones), the raw resin itself, anything?) Never heard of it before now, but I'd definitely like to try it. I live in the city of the chicken wing. If I were to send you something savory, what's your heat tolerance (or sweet and heat for that matter)? My heat tolerance is quite high. Like, on a scale of 1 to 10, I'd put it at an 8.5 or so. If your fox/bunny were to gift you with a gift card from anywhere, as in any store food-wise, music wise etc., what gift card would you like? iTunes, Amazon, or Powells.com. If I were to send you chocolate is there anything I should avoid as in nuts, cherries etc.? Also, what are some of your favorite holiday candies? I love nuts in my chocolate, especially almonds or hazelnuts. I actually don't care very much for dark chocolate, oddly enough. Does anything from Fusion Sweets interest you? Just about anything from there EXCEPT anything coffee-flavored. Yuck yuck yuck. Interested in anything from the Elements and Artifacts Yule update? Not so much, no -- they're very pretty but not all that much my style. What was the best holiday present you ever got? A pair of earrings from my husband -- white gold with teeny diamonds. Bunny, what scent are you desperately wanting to be resurrected this year with the Anniversary update? I haven't been into BPAL for long enough to have an answer for this one! I guess I'd love to see what Gluttony smelled like. Groupon for Moxie Nouveau! Dear Bunneh, is this something that would interest you? Their stuff looks great, so sure! Bun-bun, what's your favourite colour? Your favourite gemstone? Your favourite animal (real or imaginary)? And do you have any intense phobias? Color: Anything in the red and pink range. Gemstone: Hard to pick one, but I'd say pink tourmaline or blue topaz. I also love garnet. Animal: Fox! I love foxys. I also love wombats (truly). I love most cats and all dogs. Ok, most dogs. Phobia: Clowns. Seriously, they make my stomach hurt. Reveal, yes or no? I would prefer my Fox to reveal, but will be cool if she doesn't want to. I plan to reveal, as I think that's part of the fun. Nano'ing? No, I'm more of a reader than a writer. Do you like/need boxes for perfume/knicknacks? I do, in fact! The only kind I'd sort of prefer not to receive is plain, unfinished wood, as I'm not crafty in that way and I think I'd feel guilty every time I looked at it that I hadn't done something to it yet. Charity gifts? Either fair-trade type stuff, or virtual type gifts, like vaccinations or school supplies being bought on your behalf, or something along those lines? I'm pretty particular about the charities I'll support. A couple that come to mind are Heifer International and Puppies Behind Bars. Bunny, are you interested in tarts from Two Timing Tart? What scents, if any, are you interested in? Her stuff sounds great! Peacock Plumes, Innocence, Silk Sheets, and Mae West's Diamonds all sound very nice. Do you need any holiday recipes? Is there something in particular that you'd like baked or made for you? And for those of you doing the no sugar/low sugar, etc. thing these days, how about savory things? I'm a baker, so I'm good for holiday recipes. I do not believe in low/no sugar, since I have a raging sweet tooth. And I can't think of anything in particular I'd like to have baked -- anything my Fox wants to make me would be great! Are you a big ol' nerd for any particular subject? Science, math, linguistics, etc? Or particular authors/fandoms? Don't know if this counts, but I'm a big true crime geek. I not only read books of that genre, but I also like more scholarly treatments of crime and criminal justice. Examples of the former are Fatal Vision by Joe McGuinness; examples of the later are The Collapse of American Criminal Justice by William Stuntz. Lemon? Yes, I LURVE anything lemon! I'd probably eat lemon-flavored bacon and I'm not kidding. Pink? Happens to be my favorite color! Well, that and red. Do you like artisan oils and vinegars? You know, I actually am very picky about the olive oils I'll use, and I'm not incredibly crazy about most artisan vinegars. But thanks! What are your opinions on traditional holiday cookie flavorings? I'm thinking anise and cardamom in particular. I love both those flavors, particularly anise. Any crafty pursuits you’ve been dying to experiment with? Would you like a little kit of something you’ve never tried? Do you need any particular items for your new or existing stash? Only about a million. I'd love to learn how to make soaps. Also, I really am a very poor seamstress, so I'd love to learn how to sew better (needle and thread, not a machine -- no room for a machine, alas), and I'd love to brush up my embroidery skills which um what's the word I'm looking for oh yes SUCK. I'm always open to receiving Lion Brand Vanna's Choice yarns -- it's acrylic, but it comes in an amazing range of colors and I use them to make amigurumi, so I really can use just about any color at all, including ones I normally don't care for like tan and olive green. Bunny, could you use a 2012 calendar, and, if so, do you like big monthly ones or the page-a-day type? Funny question for me, because I'm totally disorganized and spent literally years trying to train myself to use calendars. I tried cute ones, arty ones, expensive ones -- I'd buy the damn things and never use them. What finally did it for me: the iPhone. That's the only calendar I've ever actually been able to use in a way that works for me. So that's a long way of saying, No, I don't think calendars would really be useful for me, but thanks! Let's talk about fruit! Do you like dried fruit or hate it? Like some but not others? I love pretty much any dried fruit, with the possible exception of papaya. How do you feel about cherries? Prefer the sweet or tart versions? Dried? Jam? Salsa? Hot sauce? BBQ sauce? I love all the cherries! I do prefer tart, though. I love them in just about any form, although I do confess to being slightly dubious about cherry salsa. What is your general philosophy about patterns for accessories such as socks, scarves, and tights? Do you like solids? Stripes? Polka dots? Weird patterns like harlequin-type stuff? Any of the above? I prefer solid or ribbed tights. I'm a little less conservative with socks, and I love polka dots in general. Weird patterns don't suit me very well. I also would prefer solid scarves, although I'd be fine with a self-striping yarn in a pretty color. Would anyone else be interested in a soap dish or something like that? I'm good for those, but thanks! Sooo. Yules. Those just happened. What are you interested in, Bunny? I ordered about a thousand decants (17, to be exact). I'm really looking forward to trying Pink Snowballs, Beautiful and Adored, and The Deepest Mysteries of Creation, among others, but those are the ones that come to mind. Do you like coin purses? I have nothing against them, but I really wouldn't use one. Do you prefer dark or milk chocolate? Milk. Milk milk milk. I don't care very much for dark chocolate, actually. fingerless mittens or full mitts? Definitely fingerless. Chile, yay or nay? Definitely yay chiles!! I love hot anything. Would you rather have an early reveal, or would you prefer one close to the end of the round? Whatever my witch wants to do will be cool, but honestly my preference is for a late reveal.

backthatelfup posted a blog entry in trisj, aka The Elven Fascist
Hey Witch I'm hoping this blog entry finds you well. I'm still wondering who you are! Do you actually live in Portland or are you just very sneaky? Hmm. We are having a good autumn! Sopi and I are going to be picking pumpkins here pretty soon. We made silly paper ones, heh. I don't think we'll cut them open. I hear that a cut pumpkin outside turns into e bug hotel here in the South. *wretches* KETCHUP! Lotion: I usually use coconut oil for moisturizing though I do like Villainess' Whippeds. I have bought Quick or Dead, Mall Santa and Ennui (for my spouse). But I shower at night and like to go to bed not smelling like stuff generally, though I have worn a few cozy NA scents to bed. It's not a daily thing by any means. The Reveal! If you don't want me to have an anuerysm, please, for the love of Hermes, reveal yourself. It might actually cause blood vessels in my brain to explode. How you reveal yourself? I have no preference. But honestly, please, reveal yourself. Costumes for pets: My cats are very mellow and might actually wear costumes for a few minutes. But they hate stuff around their neck, so...probably a bad idea. Starbucks Bear: I hate starbucks coffee and I don't need stuffed animals. I like werewolves though. Tartchef's New Soap: I haven't tried any of her soaps. Sandalwood Vanilla? This is it, right? Since I dont use a lot of scented soaps, I dunno how. When it comes to perfume, Sandalwood can go powdery on me (though I have a really nice Sandalwood EO) and Vanilla has to be...pretty remarkable. I like the vanilla in Crowley and Eternal Ankh, as well as vanilla musk. *shrug* Your call. More with the pickiness Sorry, Witch! I'm a jerk today. I you for being my Witch!
