Snake Oil in the Pumpkin Patch There's all manner of shenanigans in this year's pumpkin patch! Pumpkin'ized hybrids of GC BPAL scents abound! OOH fun to be first!! Wet in bottle: Mmm...there is that lovely hint of Snake Oil...and some buttery pumpkin! On Skin: First sniff, very snake oil, but then that lovely pumpkin is peeking out around the corner! This is EXACTLY what I was hoping this would smell like!! Drydown: This is AHHHmazing....anyone worried about it being a vegetable-y pumpkin, it is NOT! Very yummy....it is a great mix of Snake Oil and walking through a pumpkin patch. I detect a VERY faint hint of something "hay-like" but no worries for those of you who love SO and pumpkin!!! Get this....get it NOW!!! There is a wonderful sweetness to this as well....foody lovers will love this! Back up bottle worthy! ETA: Half an hour later.... I can't stop sniffing my wrist! Smells so good....great throw as well!!

Sin in the Pumpkin Patch There's all manner of shenanigans in this year's pumpkin patch! Pumpkin'ized hybrids of GC BPAL scents abound! This is like a pumpkin doing burlesque. The warm, creamy, comforting pumpkin appears all wholesome until it gets entangled with the blatant sensuality of Sin. Even though I tend to amp cinnamon, it behaves rather well here. The pumpkin note is lightly spiced, and I also think that the pumpkin just being present balances out the cinnamon of Sin so it smells more subtle than that of the original does on me. It warms the blend as a whole, but doesn't stomp all over it. At least on my skin, the most prominent note in Sin that dances with the pumpkin--and probably what makes this such a sexy pumpkin--is the black patchouli. Supported by the amber and sandalwood, which give it additional depth (read: even sexier) it crosses pumpkin over into territory I never thought pumpkin would go to. It's like putting that jack-o-lantern-next-door in black lace stockings that take her from pumpkin shell to bombshell.

Pumpkin with white chocolate, caramel, pomegranate, and cream. Straight up this is decadent chocolate cake and cream. Though it says it is white chocolate my nose smells dark chocolate. After putting it on my skin the pomegranate comes peeking it's little red head out from around the corner making this a chocolate caramel topped cake with a gushy red fruity center. After a few minutes the pomegranate comes out a little more. I am not getting any pumpkin out of this or any buttery notes, nor is the fruit super strong. Those who like chocolate blends will love this!

Pumpkin, mimosa, black amber, mahogany, and Madagascan saro. Pumpkin, hint of mimosa and black amber. It dries to a resinous, woody blend. Masculine, smooth, resin.

Pumpkin, mandarin, black pepper, frankincense, red sandalwood, and carnation. I got a sniffie of this free ... not something I would have ordered as I would have been scared of it! The first blast is almost pure black pepper but as it dries I keep getting wafts of pumpkin. This isn't your super sweet pie type pumpkin, this is savoury, this is moroccan-spiced pumpkin. I don't exactly get the mandarin but I get a sort of dried citrus peel smell if I sniff really hard. No sandalwood as far as I can tell, but maybe it's submerged under all that pepper, which still stays dominant. I don;t recognise any carnation either - but other people have said they find carnation spicy, and this is certainly spicy so it might just be nose fail on my part. I'm really glad I got to try this one.

Pumpkin, coffee absolute, tonka, teakwood, cedar, cypress, and patchouli. Oh, my poor bank account. This is fresh from the mailbox, but I'm too excited not to try it tonight. In the bottle it reminds me of Pumpkin Latte 2011, but with a woody undertone. Wet on my skin and when it's just barely dry, the woods come up to the same level as the pumpkin and coffee. The more it dries, the more cedar I get - and the patchouli arrives, but dressed in its most sophisticated Halloween costume. This might be the most subtle patchouli I've smelled. Pumpkin II is warm and soft with a medium throw on me. It's something I can easily imagine wearing to work, to hang out with friends, to sit around at home and enjoy all by my greedy self... I expected to love Pumpkin V more out of the two that I bought, but I underestimated how gorgeously these notes would sing together. I may need a backup bottle.

Pumpkin, hay, champaca, and leather accord. Wow. This is a really interesting scent. I've never tried a blend with a hay note before but I love the smell of hay. The pumpkin is really subtle in this blend and not foody at all. There's a slighty spicy note and I definitely get the hay note. The leather is very soft and not at all obvious as it is in Western Diamondback or Quincy Morris. I'm getting a bit of something that reminds me of Luctor et Emergo by POTL and I wonder if that's the champaca or the hay. I'll need to wear this a few times to be sure. Right now it's a definite winner for me. Edit: I wore this today and was sure there must be cinnamon in it. But I didn't get a skin reaction like cinnamon usually gives me. Today I also didn't get the PotL note as strongly. ETA: Another wearing and the spicy note is stronger. Now it reminds me of super strong potpourri like you buy at a craft store. It's making my sinuses unhappy

Pumpkin with tobacco, champa flower, carnation, and tonka. In the bottle, this is pumpkin with a touch of spice. On the skin, it's pumpkin with a touch of something fruity and almost juicy. There's still a bit of spice there so that must be the carnation, but it's blending well with the rest of the notes -- just adding a spicy warmth to the blend. The longer it wears the less pumpkin it is -- when it was first applied, in the first few seconds it was PUMPKIN. Now, it's much quieter and blending with the rest of notes. This is reminding me a lot of Pumpkin Queen which is fantastic as I adore Pumpkin Queen. It sticks close and doesn't have a lot of throw. Sniffing my wrist from a bit farther away the tobacco and carnation are more apparent, whereas if I have my nose plastered against my arm it is all spicy warmth and I can smell the pumpkin. The longer it wears, the more the spice is coming out on me. It just smells damn good! Not super foody, just spicy and warm - delicious. I have to get another bottle of this.

PUMPKIN I Pumpkin, almond, brown musk, and honey. The Almond seems to combine with the Brown Musk & Honey for something of a skin scent with a slight earthy tone. It's quite a bit more laid back then many of BPAL's other Pumpkin scents.

PUMPKIN II Pumpkin, rosewood, red sandalwood, and tea rose. This is a very elegant, Victorian pumpkin. The tea rose balances the inherent pumpkin buttery-ness, and the rosewood and sandalwood give it a refreshing, slightly dry coolness.

There's all manner of shenanigans in this year's pumpkin patch! Pumpkin'ized hybrids of GC BPAL scents abound! As if Samhain couldn't get any better, along comes this. I die. Samhain already has a pumpkin note, but this is Samhain meets the Great Pumpkin meets ultimate autumnal-scent bliss. Like the other 'Patch blends, the pumpkin note is warm, creamy and lightly spiced enough so it adds some warmth but doesn't amp to the high heavens on my notoriously spice-amping skin. Because the original does have spices of its own, this one is slightly spicier than the other pumpkins but not insanely so. Samhain's patchouli, apple and woods are still very much pleasant, just subtler. If the original Samhain is Halloween after nightfall, I'd say this is Halloween during the day. Maybe it's the golden quality of the pumpkin, or maybe the additional sweetness added by it (though it doesn't get anywhere near cloying). Kind of like Samhain with a slice of pumpkin pie on the side. I love them both to death.

PUMPKIN V Pumpkin with cranberry, strawberry, red musk, red rose, rosehip, frankincense, fig, jasmine, and carnation. I was worried about the rose, and all I can say is if the rose is as quiet in the rest of the Halloween blends as it is in this one I will be a very VERY happy sniffer. Ten minutes in and no rose screaming. No jasmine screaming either. What I have on my skin after ten minutes is a well behaved whiff of berries, frankincense, and just a little rose. I think I may even be able to smell the carnation. I can't seem to find the pumpkin, but, I don't mind. This is a rule breaker scent on my skin, as I should NOT be able to wear this and it seems to be behaving. So far. *crosses fingers* This is a very nice, subtle, mostly berry and fruit scent. Light to moderate throw. I can't say what it reminds me of because I don't have anything like it...or nothing like it that I could wear. =)

Dorian in the Pumpkin Patch There's all manner of shenanigans in this year's pumpkin patch! Pumpkin'ized hybrids of GC BPAL scents abound! Of course, first thing I thought when the update went live and I saw this: Puddin' in the pumpkin patch. References aside, who knew Dorian would go so well with pumpkin? Then again, pumpkin is a natural with tea. Take your favorite pumpkin tea, make it that much better than you could imagine and you've got this. It's all pumpkin wet, and then Dorian quickly comes through until they balance each other harmoniously on the drydown. The pumpkin is that same delicious baked pumpkin note I recognize from Theme in Yellow, dusted with just enough spice. The spice here really plays well with the rest of the blend, doesn't even amp on me and I can amp spice something fierce. It's warm, creamy pumpkin steeped in the aromatic vanilla tea of Dorian, with a hint of Dorian's characteristic fougere swirling in the background. Need I say more?

Moroccan Pumpkin Patch There's all manner of shenanigans in this year's pumpkin patch! Pumpkin'ized hybrids of GC BPAL scents abound! Pumpkin makes an amazing pairing with Morocco. These two were just meant to be. Both are warm scents that amount to double deliciousness when they come together. No doubt that the incensey notes of Morocco make this something of an exotic pumpkin, not the burlesque pumpkin of Sin in the Pumpkin Patch but more of a belly-dancing pumpkin with a sheer red veil (from the red sandalwood of course). The light spice of Morocco, including that from the carnation, also blends perfectly with the pumpkin note, since pumpkin and spice are just a natural pairing to begin with. The spice is present enough to contribute warmth and sensuality but not dominant enough to amp to infinity. I love how the warm musk in Morocco adds something to the pumpkin that's hard to put my finger on but makes it even more warm and inviting. Belly-dancing jack-o-lantern indeed.

There's all manner of shenanigans in this year's pumpkin patch! Pumpkin'ized hybrids of GC BPAL scents abound! This one makes me think of a pumpkin centerpiece at Alice's tea party. It's surrounded by flowers, and alongside a pitcher of milk and a jar of honey. The creamy milk and golden honey are a natural match for the warm, sweet pumpkin, and the milk note works to make the already smooth pumpkin even creamier. There's just a hint of spice that warms up the scent as a whole but doesn't amp even on my notoriously spice-amping skin. As is its nature, the carnation adds a tiny bit of spice as well, but it's very subtle. The interplay of the foody and floral elements here is actually very pleasant. The florals of Alice, as in the original scent, are not overbearing here either (even the rose I swear). They add a feminine element to the whole thing, and I swear that "feminine" and "pumpkin actually can belong in the same sentence. Somewhere in the background there is just a bit of bergamot tea. This is more of a daytime pumpkin, the pumpkin you wear when you're going to meet the parents, perfectly nice and sweet with nothing scandalous about it. I can almost see it wearing Alice's bow and pinafore.

Lightly spiced pumpkin pulp swirled with bourbon vanilla, French vanilla, and raw vanilla bean. I have a BUNCH of BPAL pumpkin scents and this is right up there with my favorite one. In fact, I think I've got enough of a sampling that I won't ever need another BPAL pumpkin scent again. They all share the same pumpkin note (which is not a squashy pumpkin smell but a spiced pumpkin smell that is a bit sharp). This particular blend is very "smooth". I can't really pick out the vanillas but I do like this alot and it's one of the more wearable scents for me.

Pumpkin with cocoa, hazelnut and walnut. Pumpkin with cocoa is such a delicious combination! The cocoa in this blend is not milky sweet like Bliss or Velvet but rather more subdued like fine baking chocolate. A good thing as the pumpkin is sweet enough in my opinion. I can't really smell the hazelnut or walnut outright but they add a bit of something underneath that make this a well rounded oil. This also strikes me as a gourmand scent as opposed to something foody. The combination enhances the notes but is well balanced so it's not cloying in the least. Simply wonderful!

PUMPKIN III Pumpkin with pink grapefruit, lemon verbena, yuzu, lime, parsley, and mint. In the bottle it smells tart. On me, wet, the pink grapefruit shows up first. Oh, yummy citrus! My mouth is watering. Lemon, lime, and grapefruit, with the lemon verbena backing it up. I can't smell any pumpkin yet, or parsley, or mint, and I have no idea what Yuzu is...*goes to look it up* Ah, another citrus, similar to a grapefruit with overtones of mandarin. So far this is all citrus on me, but, very tasty citrus. Moderate to strong throw.

Pumpkin with benzoin, bourbon vanilla, lemon peel, neroli, blood orange, and red ginger. Hooo boy I like this one a lot! Straight up it is pumpkin and red ginger. I *love* red ginger and this is the same as the ginger in Pumpkin Queen which is one of my favorites. Actually, this is very similar to Pumpkin Queen but maybe a little less fruity and bit more spicy/pumkiny. Yum!

PUMPKIN II Pumpkin with black musk, leather accord, tonka, teak, orange wood, and opoponax. I think I could sum this up with: Pumpkin Perversion. Well, minus the wine. Perversion is the closest general catalog scent to this, though. On my skin, this is a rich, decadent, smooth, tasty scent. Even with the wood and leather, it smells like my arm should taste excellent. I adore it! My only problem is that it doesn't last as long as Pumpkin I. That lasted over 12 hours on me, and this one only lasts 4 or so...but, mmmm. I do smell the pumpkin as well as the leather and woods. On me, the black musk and the tonka are sweetening and giving the scent a lovely rich layer. On me, medium to strong throw. Rich and sweet, bordering on foody, even though the only edible ingredient is the pumpkin.

Pumpkin with pear, white wine grapes, and jasmine-laced tea. In the bottle all buttery pumpkin, with a light note of something sweet behind it. Wet, pumpkin butter. As it dries the butter diaappears, pear and wine grapes appear. Not grapey like candy. Like I'm on a picnic in a vineyard. Having tea and pumpkin tarts. Delish!

PUMPKIN IV Pumpkin with white sage, cherry tobacco, honey, smoky vanilla, cedar, and pine. In the bottle, honey. On me, honey at first. Then the pine and cedar take over and it becomes very pine for a second. The trees settle down, though, as the rest of the notes come forward and blend. This is very different and interesting. None of the listed notes are missing. I can smell them all, but, they are blended into something new and unlike anything else I've sniffed so far. The result is moderately sweet and sort of earthy and leafy. The throw is moderate.

Pumpkin Patch III Pumpkin, fir needle, pitch, rosemary, and tomato. In bottle: Whoa! This is the most pumpkin pumpkin patch I’ve ever smelled. The fir and tomato complement the pumpkin beautifully. It smells like early autumn garden. Nice. Wet: Even richer on the skin The sweet pumpkin does lovely things with the tomato/rosemary/fir. I think I’m in love. I was hoping for a pumpkin cousin to planting moon and the gamble paid off. Dry: Almost apple cidery pumpkin with tomato dominant garden. The elements shift some, but it remains fascinating

Pumpkin, black musk, tobacco, myrrh, and clove in the bottle bog standard BPAL pumpkin, a little reminiscent of pumpkin V from 2007 and pumpkin queen: swarthy, buttery pumpkin but not quite as buttery as, say, jack wet on skin i'm getting the richness of the tobacco and just a little resin from the myrrh. no clove to be found yet, which is good, as i love the concept of clove, but generally find it doesn't work in any way on my skin dry on skin a little clove, yeah? just enough to spice it up and make it swing a little toward foody. this reminds me very much of pumpkin V '07, only not as bright. it's a wearable foody pumpin that's just a little bit dark and resinous. a surprise winner from my haul and this will most likely keep me happily in pumpkin for a long while. highly recommended if you liked any of the above pumpkin blends.

Pumpkin, chocolate, coffee bean, vanilla bean, and hazelnut. This is my first time making a topic so hopefully I did this right. >>; As soon as I saw the description I knew I had to order it and I'm really glad I did. In the bottle: It smells just like the Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks from Fall last year. Wet: For about 10 minutes I got an odd dirt note with a really strong coffee scent. The dirt note vanished and then it became mostly coffee until slowly fading to a warmer pumpkin spice scent with a slight creaminess from the hazelnut. Dry: I'm not getting a lot of coffee anymore. It is mostly just a pumpkin with the a hazelnut after note with occasional wifts of vanilla. It still sort of smells like a Starbucks drink. I didn't really ever get the chocolate. EDIT I still get occasional wafts of this scent and if I hold my wrist up to my nose the scent is quite strong still, though I put it on 8+ hours ago. It definitely is reminiscent of a Startbucks Pumpkin Latte. I think I want a back-up bottle.
