I will tell of Dionysus, the son of glorious Semele, how he appeared on a jutting headland by the shore of the fruitless sea, seeming like a stripling in the first flush of manhood: his rich, dark hair was waving about him, and on his strong shoulders he wore a purple robe. The components include master of the woods, musk seed, grape root, peppermint leaf. This post is merely a placeholder for future reviews. The components include lavender oil and herb, Australian blue cypress oil, steam-distilled spikenard oil and herb, organically-grown red rose petals, and coriander seed. [No additional description provided.] This one smells like cinnamon-dusted sugar cookies with a touch of egg nog. There is a very definite 'egg' note to this. Soft, foodie, vanilla cinnamon cookies. It's actually got a decent throw, but almost no wear length on my hair.

Snake Charmer: Sensual, sibilant, sexual and hypnotic: Arabian musk and exotic spices slinking through Egyptian amber, enticing vanilla, and a serpentine blend of black plum, labdanum, ambrette, benzoin and black coconut. A Snake Oil-based blend? In an atmo spray?? There was no way I could resist this. And though my bank account protested, I made the right choice in buying it. I have yet to experience the original perfume oil so I can't compare directly, but this is incredible. It's certainly a Snake Oil, but more like a well-aged one with extra warmth from the amber and benzoin and just the slightest touch of fruity sweetness. I only used one spritz on my bedsheets and my entire bedroom is perfectly lightly scented. It's warm and inviting and quite hypnotic indeed! I had things to do today... but maybe I'll just spend the day in bed... I went out for an hour to do some errands and it's much fainter upon my return. It's still detectable though. Just enough to make me go "oh, I should spray it again. And again. Make all the things smell like this!" But I think maybe I'll hold off until bedtime. I want this bottle to last!

A legendary Assyrian queen, often identified with Sammu-Ramat, the wife of Shamshi-Adad V, she was believed to be the daughter of the goddess Atargatis. Her youth was filled with mythic adventure, and her otherworldly beauty and voluptuous sexuality ensured her two advantageous marriages. When she took the reins of power of Empress of Assyria, she expanded her kingdom by conquering much of Mesopotamia and Asia. She beautified and revitalized Babylon, and implemented improvements in Nineveh that helped to moderate the flow of the Tigris. She was renowned for her military and political prowess, as well as her ferocious and merciless sexual appetite. Red musk, pomegranate, orange blossom, and melon. Lush and gorgeous--better than I remember. I only need an oz, since I don't usually reach for such scents, but A rich, juicy red musk scent, like (aged) Mme. Moriarty bathed in a pool of warm pomegranate. It has crazy throw--I can smell it in the bottle from a few feet away. If I crack open the bottle, I can smell it for miles. Okay, maybe not miles, but quite a while away. This is not a scent for sensitive noses.

A "warrior worth a thousand, ready to confront a demon or a god, mounted or on foot." Tomoe Gozen was a fierce, noble, and courageous samurai, first captain, as well as a renowned beauty. She was an excellent swordswoman, famed for her riding ability and her skill at archery. She fought for Minamoto no Yoshinaka at Battle of Awazu, and her forces were defeated. Legend says she was seen holding the severed head of one of her foes on the battlefield, and vanished, never to be seen again. Red currant, golden amber, blackberry, honey, and pink pepper. While creating a 4lb mother bottle of Snake Oil, I had a brain fart and accidentally dropped honey accord, extra patchouli, and dragons blood into it. While it is another Horrible Error, I figured that it might be a Horrible Error that some people might enjoy. So wet and early dry down this was sort of cola like syrupy deliciousness but now is hitting me with some heavy patchouli, but not the dirty hippy kind, with just a hint of dragons blood. A bit of perfumey sweetness that I would bet might be the honey accord over the sugared snake oil. This is patchouli forward, but it is fresh from the mail and not the long dry down. I will try to update with long drydown results. This will almost certainly age most gloriously and fans of patchouli that is not overwhelmy or head shopy should definitely try it. I myself am hoping for a bit more dragons blood! Edit: this is already drying down to a sweet mashup of patch, perfumey dragons blood and sweet snake oil. Snake oil is backdrop, not dominant, honey does not to all weird, in fact is almost undetectable to me. This has blended superbly into a fascinating and almost enchanting scent even though I *whispers* do not generally enjoy snek oil. Edit: late dry down, a well rounded almost, nutty idk hos to describe it, full patchouli non dirty, with only the lightest kiss of snake oil and dragons blood. Eta: tried my second bottle to see if there was any variation but it dried the same way, I may just amp patch (I usually actually normally avoid it in blends bc I cannot stand the dirty hippy variety, so I cannot speak to if that is normal for me.) As earlier the dry down is a so pleasant mish mash if sweet snake oilyness as a backdrop for delicious chewy patch with only the faintest breath of dragon blood.

Mod Note: This review topic is for the Etsy Small Batch release of Gainful Employment. This oil vibrates on the frequencies of both Earth and Saturn, and is a prosperity and good fortune blend that is solidly grounded: it was created to bring opportunities into your life that will help you to form a strong financial foundation. This incarnation of Gainful Employment contains juniper berry essential oil, Iron-free patchouli essential oil, extract of Job’s Tears (7 per bottle) and guinea grains (extracted in-house), Egyptian frankincense, and oakmoss absolute. Each bottle was charged over eight Thursdays, all during the Hour of Saturn. Rub this oil onto the soles of your feet and between your palms during any part of the process of job hunting. Gainful Employment should be used on brown candles when utilized in a ritual capacity, and can be used to (lightly!) dress resumes and cover letters. This only can also be employed during divinatory practices in order to help you discern the best and most responsible path to financial solvency. This review is for the small batch etsy TAL blend Gainful Employment: Earth/Saturn. Since there are no notes listed for the GC GE version, and while the description on the etsy website references "this incarnation", there is no note of actual different elements. So I am reviewing here in the meantime. Scent description from etsy: "This incarnation of Gainful Employment contains juniper berry essential oil, Iron-free patchouli essential oil, extract of Job’s Tears (7 per bottle) and guinea grains (extracted in-house), Egyptian frankincense, and oakmoss absolute." I have to say that it smells like patchouli, frankincense, and a touch of both gin and oakmoss. Overall, not unpleasant. I dabbed some on my palms to motivate me to keep an eye out on job opportunities and to keep reconnecting with my network as I try to figure out what my next step is career-wise. So far, I've found some interesting job postings and I want to keep myself thinking positively and not succumb to the anxiety that a job search can bring.
