    Utrennyaya

I've gotten frimped this 3 times in quick succession, so instead of thinking this is coming to me cause I should have it ... I thought wow, everyone must hate this to be getting rid of it! I've had it in my imp pile forever... picked at random today. At first applied this smells like mint and fresh smooshed plant matter, a very fresh walking through wet vegetation smell... I dont get violets even in drydown... its more a mint and non-descript plant smell. It'll be nice for summer

    Oya

Wet: Do I even have the same Oya as everyone else? Its like a windy, dusty floral. I read the description... Yes, this fits. its very complex.. beautiful. Drydown: I'm getting some of the plum, and something I cant put my finger on. Its a dusty aquatic windswept smell. Gah its so familiar. Something from my childhood. Its driving me crazy! Verdict: I love it. I just wish I could figure out what it reminds me of!

    Blue Moon 2007

I was frimped a drop of this... I'm so suprised anyone was able to part with that one drop! This is beautiful, very watery, springy, green. Its such a light, wet fragile scent. I'm usually not big on florals... but this is a definate "thumbs up"!!

    Masquerade

I agree with the review saying this reminds of vetiver, (this is the third thing I've put on today with a vetiver smell!!) Maybe its the carnation patchouli combo... Its not good on me.

    Hurricane

Vetivert scares me so I was hesitant... Wet: This definately evokes a hurricane to me, Its all water-logged wood, bad wind and water. Not something I want to really smell like though. Drydown: There you are vetivert! Stanky ozone. Not me at all.

    Yew-Trees

Maybe I shouldnt be reviewing this today because its hot, but it was one picked at random from the imp pile, so here goes. I'm getting pine and wood and a slight bit of berry from this, but theres something almost "skunky" in it. It starts of quite strong and mellows quickly, within 5 minutes, but still the skunk remains. Not really digging it, but I'm holding on to it for colder weather.

    Wanda

omg is this sexy! I'm always impressed by the labs wine scents, So I was excited to get frimped this today and couldnt wait to try it on. Not dissapointed! Wet: The heady wine that makes me feel dizzy right off the bat. It has a juicy berry kick to it. Drydown: the musk and leather come out... but while bpal leathers usually go burning rubber on me.. this is divine. Another to add to favorites!

    Nanny Ashtoreth

My hubby has been getting very excited every time I get a package, wondering if one of the frimps are gonna be his.... This is another one. Wet: all leather and wood, I dont get any of the other notes at all. Drydown: More of the same. Its a good mens cologne scent with pretty good throw. Definately not one I can wear though. Edited to note: although I love the smell of bpal leather on him, on me it turns to burning rubber.
  9. My favorite summers are .... Akuma, Blood Lotus, Carnivale, Catherine, Delerium, Desdemona, Ellegua, Imp, Numb, Obatala, The Deep Ones, and Water of Notre Dame But I still wear the heavy ones *Sniffs November on wrist*

    November

Autumn leaves damp beneath the first snowfall. I was hesitant to try this because October wasnt so great on me, and I had decided that leaves dont go well on my skin. In the bottle I was definately hesitant, its so strong, and I smell that note that hates me.. what is it?? But on the skin, after it dries down a bit (woah this is STRONG at first) It is beautiful! At first all ozoney and leaves and then the pine comes out and all the notes just melt together. Exactly like the description. I love it.

    Earth Phoenix

This is beautiful! I cant stop sniffing my wrist! I get the most beautiful tobacco/earth/cherry blend. The dirt amps enough to be foremost on my skin, which I love, but not to overpowering that the other notes dont shine through. Very well blended. This is now amoung my favorites!

    Samhain

This review is for a decant of '03 This has the most delicious mulled cider scent... i get it straight from the imp-to the skin-to drydown. It does no morphing at all on me, a big bonus, alot of things morph badly with my chemistry. Aplle scents usually don't work on me.. I tend to turn everything into that "plastic cheap candle apple" smell... but this stays true. Its too hot to be wearing this right now.. I almost cant wait till fall!!

    Blood Kiss

Initially this smells like cinnamon snickerdoodles on me But then after a bit the wine and clove come out more, no vetiver to be seen (sniffed) thank goodness! I don't get the honey or vanilla! which is strange, I usually amp honey to high hell. It's kinda foody on me in a christmasy way, saving for the colder months.

    Hellhound on My Trail

Bay rum, bourbon vanilla, galangal, hyssop, High John the Conqueror root, tobacco, life everlasting, and brimstone. I couldnt really pick out anything in the imp, it was a sweet/smoky smell... On the skin wet: It was at first all brimstone/cinnamony. I thought I didn't like it but couldnt stop sniffing.. 2 hours later: almost all gone but the tobacco and bourbon vanilla comes out more in the process. love it!

    Thanatopsis

Powerful at first, this dries down to a nice piney musk. I also smell something sweet (?) in the background, its so background that I thought it may have been something in my house.. but its definately there. While its nice, I'm giving this one to hubs, whom I put Jersey Devil on today, as far as pines go I think I would like this better on him. (P.s. I think the sweet might be the 1 - 2 combo punch of Water of Notre Dame and Thanatopsis. I have WoND on my wrists and Thanatopsis on elbow creases, and while I smell nothing sweet in either, its wafting up from the combine, strange!)

    Water of Notre Dame

Brings peace to the spirit, a sense of calm and fulfillment, and attracts the aid of beneficial spirits. oh oh oh... this is so nice! I had a horrid night last night and my impulse in the morning is to usually try an imp from random in my "havent tried" pile, but I grabbed for WoND instead because of the calm-inducing reviews. I must say it is indeed, very calming. I do smell rose water, I always associate this with my grandmothers bathroom since she used rose water, but this has even more grandma associations for me... When I was young, we were poor, and my grandmother was "comfortable" I always thought she was rich because she had HBO and a pool, now I know she really wasn't. The best parts of my childhood were spent in her big lush tree covered back yard and in her pool.. Rose water, aquatics of the smooth kind and greenery. This is my childhood in an imp and whats more calming than that??

    Blood Lotus

Ooo pretty... juicy red, very berry-ish.. strawberry? cherry? no... a not yet invented berry Kind of reminiscent of cherry koolaide powder. This has a good throw, but not a strangling one. Will definately be a good one to wear this summer!

    The House

This smelled promising in the bottle, I could smell the rotting wood and roses, it did remind me of zombi till it hit my skin, then it was all downhill... it turns masculine on me. Not just masculine, I can wear things that are considered masculine, but like "old mens church smell" masculine. I want to give this to hubby to try, but I waver, because if his chemistry turns it the same way mine did, I'm not going to want him anywhere near me. maybe I should stay away from the wood scents.

    Bat's Blood

dragons blood, faintly... but why do I get ylang ylang?? like so strong it could be a single note. ylang ylang has happy memories for me... so would it suit its purpose? nah... but it smells pretty

    Catherine

The notes of this one didn't really fascinate me, so I left it in my "imps to try" pile and passed it up time and time again, till today when i picked one at random.... Dumb me! This is a beautiful orange blossom/rose, I don't get the rosemary. This will be GREAT for summer when my heavier ones will just make me feel... heavy. Its very airy and light, pretty!

    Death on a Pale Horse

the vetiver throws me off on this one, its almost a good dirt smell... then the vetiver just kinda kills it, I'm not too keen on the heaviness of the florals either... I get too excited by the names sometimes Edited to say: that while this smells not too great on me, it is very nice on the hubby. He warms it up and it smells of sandalwood, lavender and a subtle warm patchouli. On him, more cool skinned, it brings out all the notes I wanted it to bring out on me.

    Lilith

Special to me... this is my daughters name. I got the bottle to hold on to her for when shes older (shes 1 now, who knows what the oil will smell like then) I pretty much HAVE to like it. But it comes so eaaaasy! In the bottle: Boozy to me, strong, heady... thought I would get drunk sniffing this. Wet: Still boozy but a delicious boozy. drydown: what a morpher, this turns sweet! not at all what I would expect from the notes. A sweet luxurious blend. I really love the wine scents from bpal. I think its the rose and wine I pick up most, stunningly beautiful! Just like my daughter Lilith, strong and evil... but sweet in the end

    Baobhan Sith

This scent definately fits the descript! Its wispy, ghostly, it just seems .... white. I get mostly grapefruit and tea, but to say grapefruit and tea doesn't do justice to it.. very unique. Needs more!
  24. tragedy

    Black Phoenix

In the imp: I for the life of me cant figure out what this reminds me of, something from my deep past... it drove me crazy trying to think of it wet: I do smell almonds and that same familiar scent.. argh! what IS it!!!??? drydown: Stays strong, turns slightly powdery. This is sexy is in ultrafemme way, like a dress up, lingerie way... I'm not really a dress up lingerie girl, but I could see wearing it at times Omigosh! I just remembered what it smells like.. a strong version of Jergens Original lotion which is cherry/almond. I always loved that lotion. Its sexy Jergens heh!!
  25. tragedy

    Les Bijoux

Tried this from an imp, upon smelling the imp I wasn't too sure I would like it because it smelled pretty floral... but omigosh on the skin the honey and the rose comes out and its a delightfully sexy blend! Not a heavy sexy blend, but a light playful one. I amp rose and honey and thats what I'm getting mostly, with a touch of musk. Need bottle!
