  1. Quite perfumey, but under the perfume, there is a creamy, waxy sweetness, like creme brulee. Up close, I get the yucky perfume, but the creamy goodness seems to be wafting around me. It's nice to have the decant, as this one is an 'almost', but I think it's the blackberry that is ruining this one for me. It's very sharp and biting.

  2. Sensuous honey and something lush and sexy. This is reminding me of Womb Furie, with orange blossom which always seems Snake Oil-like and sexy on me. LOVE me some orange blossom! Unfortunately, this is a fast fade, and is barely a whisper after half an hour.

  3. Fresh, watery citrus at first. There's almost an effervescent quality here, or a glass of fresh pressed citrus juice. However, it's that dratted lab's citrus note that turns dusty on me. I'm still getting a lovely freshness in the background, but this is mostly dust on me, kind of dusty coconut actually.

  4. Kind of smoky and earthy at first, probably the cedar. Dry, a heady floral, probably the night blooming jasmine. After a bit, this morphs again, and I'm getting a perfumey earthiness, kind of leatherlike in a way. This blend is not for me, but the jasmine is reminding me of my mom, who liked to wear a tropical perfume back in the seventies.

  5. This to me is fresh, spicy fruit with a touch of mint. Although it's spicy, it has an aura of spring about it. This smells a lot like a Snake Oil chaos I had that I thought was raspberry and mint, only there is no snake oil here. I really think the currant is dominant on me, and after a bit, pom comes along and makes everything dusty and musty. Boo.

  6. Scentwise, strong lavender. I love lavender, so this is good. I'm a notoriously poor sleeper, and wanted to try this for the benefits. I normally toss around for an hour or so, but I can't even recall myself thinking of anything, I was just out like a light. During the night, I woke up, concerned that I couldn't get back to sleep, dabbed a bit more, and out for the count again. Granted it's hockey season, and it could have been the few beer, (hee hee), but beer doesn't knock me out like this. I do have a bottle coming, and may get more.

  7. Strong lavender at first, then it becomes more sweet, and not medicinal. Weird, this fades after 20 minutes, but I can still smell it in my room. Not an upgrade because of the fast fade, but lovely while it lasted. No memorable dreams out of this.

  8. Lots of fresh grapefruit to me, but it smells more like the white variety more than the pink. Fades quickly to a earthy fungus smell, which makes me wonder if there is white musk here. I wish it stayed true to the wet stage, but sometimes citrus or musks go wonky on me, especially yuzu and white musk. Not a keeper, it fun to try.

  9. Fresh and airy at first, and I'm definitely getting the salty spray. After a bit, the honeysuckle starts to amp, so it's mainly a fresh aquatic floral. This is 'OK', but I like other aquatics better, like Ded Moroz and The Golden Cloth. I'll certainly enjoy the imp when I want something a touch more florally.

  10. The Ides marked an auspicious time in the Roman calendar. Depending on the month in question, the Ides fell on the thirteenth or fifteenth, and usually marked the Full Moon. As we all know, it was not an auspicious day for Julius Caesar, nor was it fortuitous for H.P. Lovecraft, who also met his maker on this infamous day. Tu quoque, Brute, fili mi!

A mixture of springtime greenery and classical Roman cologne: rosemary, bergamot, lemon rind and vervain with costus, benzoin, coriander, rosewood, gray amber, cardamom, white narcissus, dark musk, and iris.

This is the 2012 version. I'm getting a TAL vibe, kind of a sour floral. After a bit, LOTS of lemon with herbs. Actually this is basically herbal tea with lemon. Not my style, still very TAL like.

  11. This starts out to be a fresh, airy floral with a touch of greenery. Dries quickly to a sugared floral on me, kind of in the likes of High Strung Daisies or Faith/Hope, though the florals are different of course. It morphs again on me and finally end up as a sweet, gardenia-like scent. This is definitely not me, ends up being tropical and heady. Skin chemistry issues at work here, I think.

  12. I love a few of these notes, so I thought that this would be at least somewhat good on me. I'm getting sourness and a touch of frankincense. No Egyptian amber or chrysanthemum. This fades to almost nothing in half an hour.

  13. Soft buttery leather and outdoors greenery and musk at first. More musky when dry with a touch of evergreen and wet leather. This is a masculine blend, so I'll never wear it, and the wet leather is really off putting. Not for me, but I wouldn't mind trying this on a guy.

  14. I like lavender, and this one is chock full of it! This is an aggressive, dark lavender, however and maybe it's just the name, but I am feeling a bit uneasy. (Probably because nightmares scare the bejeezus out of me). This is Almost a dead ringer to 'On Darkness'. I'll have to report any ill effects, I don't mind the scent, but the decant will suffice.

  15. First off, medicinal lemon cleaner, but in a good way, if that makes sense. The medicinal vibe fades quickly, and we're left with hard, tart lemon lifesaver with a touch of something peppery and rubbery in the background. Very unsettling now, I'd probably enjoy this blend otherwise, it's just too odd.

  16. Getting some incense here at first. I accidently spilled half an imps worth on me, and it's still not all that strong. After a bit, a muted woody rose comes out. This is nice, but it borders along sour pickle juice territory. It reminds me of a clean freshly showered guy.

  17. At first, I'm getting something harsh and biting, like vetiver. This fades pretty quickly, and now it's a fresh black tea with something creamy and waxy. I like the tea, but the waxiness is bothering me. An almost win here, but doesn't quite make the cut.
