  1. To me, this smells like two separate scents battling each other for dominance. I'm getting the fizzy champagne, and the soft, powdery dragon's blood. I really do like each scent separately, but they don't seem to be meshing too well on my skin. It's drying kind of masculine too, like a dude's shower gel. So soapy, powdery and fresh champagne. Sounds nice on paper, and a little goes a long way, so maybe I shouldn't have slathered. I'm getting the cola vibe, but the men's cologne shower gel thing going on is just drowing out the cola. Sigh.

  2. I didn't get a full bottle of this because I thought it would be similar to Lush's Potion. What I'm getting is lots of spicy carnation, very delicious and realistic, though I'd say Potion was a bit of a 'cooler' scent. This really is more like to Hod, I find, but with less amber. This is so similar to Hod, I don't need anymore, but will most likely use up the decant.

  3. I'm unfamiliar with the Daphne flower scent, so I'll just go by impressions. At first, it's quite perfumey, and I'm not getting any honey. Dry, kind of like sour rose a bit with something odd, almost foody. Not liking the Daphne scent, though I may be getting a bit of honey in the background, this scent is definitely not for me.

  4. Heady flowers at first. Maybe jasmine? Dries to a slightly sour heady flower mix, which is making me think that rose is in here somewhere, as rose sometimes goes sour on me. In spite of this, It's a bit odd, and maybe it just needs to warm up.

  5. Strong banana and something alcoholic at first. The banana smells like those poofy banana marshmallows, quite candy-like. Dry, a soft banana, kind of comforting actually. I don't mind this, but probably won't wear it again.

  6. A rich, bold blend of imperial rose, carnation, lush jasmine, lily of the valley, dark musk, amber, bergamot and gilded tangerine.

Heady flower alert! Right from the start, lots of jasmine or something jasmine-like. This blend reminds me of spring, though I'm not getting any tangerine, just heady flowers of unknown variety. Nice to try, but not for me.

  7. Wet, juicy fruit gum. I get this quite often with apple scents, though. Dry, more like authentic apple cider with spices. This is very late summer/early fall type scent, and I'd be all over it if I liked these kind of apple/foody blends. Very evocative, though and nice to try!

  8. Lots of cherry at first, the delicious variety that is in Gothabilly. After a bit, I'm getting spicy musk, and the cherry is still there, but less in your face. This is an imp, and I've had it for 8 or so months from another forumite, so it is well aged. Twenty minutes in, mostly rose and very faint. This is nice, but I don't need a bottle.

  9. Christmas in a bottle. I love Midnight Mass, and I have a bottle of 08, but have a sniffie of the '11 version to test out. Lot's of incense, very resiny, and it's got a pine vibe here somewhere, but maybe it's my imagination. A classic bpal creation. :wub2:

'12 version: Maybe a touch more spice here, but still lovely as ever. I'd really like to see how a guy's chemistry will react to this.

  10. At first, predominantly dark chocolate, only it smells rather fake. :rantrave: After a bit, the fruit comes out, and the chocolate is there, but in the background. This doesn't smell very appealing on me, though I don't like fruit/chocolate combinations. I was hoping for more figgy vanilla. Blech.

  11. Wet, gritty and animalistic. Dry, more incense, less gritty and more sexy dirty. It reminds me of Smut at this stage, but without the red fruits. Dryer still, kind of soapy, but in a sexy kind of way. I like this, but not enough to upgrade.

  12. Tropical blend here, I'm getting lots of tuberose, but that's OK, I like the VERY occasional tropical blend once in awhile. It kind of reminds me of Pele, or maybe it's Chuparosa. Whatever it is, though, it does fade pretty quickly, and it is kind of dusty, like ZZ noted, and I wear these blends so seldom, it's not worth it to seek out more. Thanks to Sarah for the tester!!

  13. Bitter, acrid and pungent. More so wet, but it's still pretty strong and perfumey even after it dries. I'm thinking the leaves are the main culprit, and the flowers just seem to be sharp and overbearing. My eyes even sting a little. Not for me.

  14. Quite medicinal at first, then gradually the citrus comes out, so it's kind of a citrussy/herbal/medicinal blend. This is not me at all, but may be a good utility blend. I'm not getting any lavender here at all, and that's a note that loves me.

  15. I'm a citrus fiend, though it has to be a 'good' citrus, one that doesn't go dusty or fade quickly, and be true to the scent. This one starts out as fresh, white grapefruit and tangerine, very nice and crisp. Dryer, less citrus, kind of creamy. At this point, it reminds me of Lilith vs the Giant Crab, only the citrus is different, and there's no musk. Further on, I get the Underpants comparison, only with a touch of citrus, this almost reminds me of, dare I say it, Jingo Kogo, though I'd have to do a side by side just to see. Though this doesn't stay a crisp citrus, I still REALLY like it, it's not candy-like (on me anyways), I'm going to test side by sides comparisons with Jingo and Lilith, to see if they are as similar as I think they are. Even so, I'm pretty sure this will be an upgrade!! :wub2:

eta: Did side by sides with Jingo Kogo and Lilith vs. Lilith is more musky ambergris, and the citrus in Jingo Kogo is less subdued than Gobo. Gobo is very bright at first, but fades extremely fast, however, and is gone within a couple of hours. For this reason, I think Gobo will will not be upgraded. I'll certainly enjoy the imp, though!

  16. Kind of dry and musky at first, then turns into a fresh, spicy floral. Almost fruity in a way. It reminds me of something, but I can't just think of what right now. At any rate, it's nice to try, but not my kind of blend.

  17. Back when I first started getting into Bpal, berry blends were a big thing for me. Now, not so much, but I still have my fave, Australian Copperhead, and do enjoy a well blended berry. This one fits the bill rather nicely. Juicy blackberry, no cat pee here, along with a bit of musk and sage. This is sophisticated and elegant for a berry blend, and seems far to nice to be a gc. There's a slight similarity to Hellion, and A Couple Consulting an Enpon, though the fruit is different, and Couple has more mintiness. I really like this, and will most likely use up the imp, though nothing can replace AC for an amazing berry blend.

  18. At first, this smells exactly like Juicy Fruit gum, which some fruity scents sometimes interpret on me. Dry, no more gum, but spices, mostly ginger with a bit of cinnamon and a touch of juicy fruit. Twenty minutes in, a bland, slightly spicy scent, no trace of apple, and it's almost gone on me. For something that started out so strong, I'm surprised that it disappeared so quickly. Not for me.

  19. Fresh floral and lavender at first, quite nice, but nothing to write home about. Dry, this fades into almost nothing. I'd like this if it didn't fade so fast, as I do love a fresh kind of lavender. Oh well.

  20. I'm getting roses and spice. I do get a bit of musk on the throw, but not up close. This is 'OK', but I'm not a big rose fan, even though this one does not go sour at all. It is an interesting blend, however, though a bit perfumey. Maybe this is the musk? At any rate, not for me, but nice to try!

  21. I was looking forward to trying this, as I love Night's Bridge. This one however, smells watery and aggressive, like 'angry' stone if there were such a thing. I get a touch of leather here to, but it's a masculine, dry leather. This is not me, it's kind of bitter and masculine, definitely dark and watery cold. Blech.

  22. Sweet, kind of heady, like a tropical floral. It's a bit overly sweet, actually, not what I was expecting at all. I do get some resins after a bit, but it really doesn't save this blend.

  23. I love Death Cap, so I had high hopes for this! At first, strong and astringent, and strong vetiver-like ginger. Not good so far...Dry, pretty much Death Cap on me, so I am a happy girl! Soft, brown dirty and soft, I love this, though I do have two imps of Death Cap, so I probably don't need any more.
