  1. This one is an odd duck to be sure.... Spice at first, strong nutmeg, allspice, or something to that effect. After a bit, a sharp freshness, like mint, or could be the herbs. It seems to be staying that way for now, it seems like a rather mismatched placement of notes. Geez.

  2. I find the Lab's dirt note very comforting, like I'm working in the garden with warm soil and the smell of plants around me. I can't seem to differentiate, though, and they all smell the same to me, which is OK! I doubt I would ever invest in a bottle, but I get enough testers and imps to fuel my craving. Death Cap is another that I get the dirt note from, and I have a few imps of those to keep me going:)

  3. Very fresh, musky, a bit of a citrus vibe, but mostly a clear, clean white musk. This may be a cousin to Embalming Fluid, a MALE cousin, which means I can't wear it:( It is quite lovely though, and I'd like to smell it on an elf like male. Legolas?? :)

  4. Hmmm, I thought there'd be white musk in here, it just has that 'feel' of it. A bit sharp, cologne, citrusy with a touch of wood. Amazingly, not getting rose here. This may be OK for summer on the right person, but it's not working for me.

  5. I usually like incense blends, but this one is just not sitting right with me. At first, I'm getting the combination of sweet spices with the incense. Mostly the cassia. After a bit, the spices totally take over and it becomes more wearable. This is OK for me, but it is not an upgrade by any means, even to an imp. I agree that it would be a good room scent for the cooler months, but this one just didn't make the cut.

  6. There's this certain foody cake note that the lab puts out that I just don't like. And here it is. Again. There is something fake about it, like packaged cake. This only lasts for a bit, though, and then something uber fruity comes out along with a touch of cake. The lavender makes a brief appearance at the beginning, but disappears quickly, drowned out by the black currant. Definitely not for me.

  7. Whaaat?! Coconut and a touch of apples. I guess the cake could be translating as coconut, but it pretty much smells like it to me:) Ends up smelling kind of like Egg Nog, the bpal blend, but with whiskey rather than rum. It's quite yummy, but too foody for me to wear.

  8. Gelt

I love Gelt. It's the richest, most expensive cocoa along with warm, inviting amber. That being said, it is too foody for me to wear, but I like smelling and trying out the sniffies once a year. I wish I didn't give up my bottle way back in the day. It may layer well with Snake Oil, a more Belgium chocolate version of Boomslang.

  9. Echo echo:) I love Dragon's Milk. It's honeyed vanilla goodness that is pretty much spot on with this hairgloss. I have a decant, and will use it sparingly probably more in the summer months. BTW, I am still waiting for my bottle of perfume to become the amazingness of an imp of very aged Dragon's Milk that some lovely forumite gifted me. I'm patient:)

  10. Whhaaa? This smells like fruit on me. Very christmassy, there's a bit of a evergreen vibe, definitely sweet, but it really smells like there is red berries in here. Zero resins, it doesn't smell evil at all, in fact, more fruity and happy. OK, more pine now, but still sweeeeeeet!! There's a note here that I'm not fond of, but it was fun to try.

  11. Quite festive with the boozy notes. I'm rediscovering red musk after being tired of it for a few years. I'm wishing I didn't get rid of Infernal Lover and others, heck I wish I could've afforded to keep all my bpals, just to revisit:) So, this one has the added wine note, with the red musk. Kind of bitter. It dries down to basically a SN red musk, though I find that it does seem to dominate a blend. Nice to try...I may invest in a great red musk blend soon, but not this one.

  12. Pretty much like roses, only stronger. Like a beautiful red rose, but amplified. I'm starting to enjoy rose blends more and more, and wishing that I kept some of the rose perfumes that I bought over the years. Perfect for this time of year!

  13. Wet, yup, this is Sin. Spicy, patch goodness. I never really get amber, from the gloss or the perfume. Dry, mild spice and a touch of patch. Hmm, another fast fader...Glad I just have a decant. Another note. Even decants last FOREVER. The only decant I ran out of was that popular luper one from a couple of years ago, and only because my daughter loved it, and used it frequently too.

  14. Hmm, I could have sworn there was a citrus in here, it smells almost lemony at first. Dry, sweet snow, much the same as Wintertime. Not getting the sandalwood. I was expecting more from this one, but alas, it's just another snow blend. Pretty, kind of like Ice Queen without the berries, kind of like Go To Sleep Darlings with more snow. Yeah, not very original.

  15. I wasn't a huuuuge fan of the Silkybat hair gloss. I like it well enough, but it wasn't what I was expecting. The frost note here makes this gloss uber masculine. I *really* like it, but probably more on a guy. As this scent is right now, I would never wear it being as masculine as it is. On the positive, I can't smell it when it's dry anyways.

  16. Eeks, this is not the Faunalia I remember. :( I'm getting soap, and acrid pine soap gone bad. I am glad I didn't get more than a sniffie. From what I remember, I really liked this from another year. Not this time...

  17. Dry sandalwood and dried flowers. This is too dry to be an Antique Lace dupe, but I do see the similarities. If it were sweeter, maybe it would be a bit closer, without as much sandalwood, a lot closer. So yes, more sweet vanilla and less sandalwood. I'm going to put a touch of Madagascan Vanilla Rum on here to see what happens....

eta: OK, so I couldn't find my MVR, but a little dab of Morocco on Claircognizance equals Antique Lace!

  18. I'm not too big on rose or rose blends, but every once in awhile I crave to have the scent of rose around me. Rose Red is an amazing perfume, and the gloss fulfills my desire to have rose around my face. I get the very realistic smell of roses every time I swish my hair, and I'm thinking this rose phase of mine isn't just a passing fancy. I feel feminine, pretty, and pretty much adore roses right now in the dead of winter. Very nice! This one seems to last into dry hair as well, which is a BIG bonus.
