  1. Musky and fruity at first, like a fresh orange/lemon drink. After a bit, the musk recedes a bit, thank goodness, it was really dept store there for awhile. Ends up being a fresh slightly citrus and spicy blend. I'm thinking the lotus is making this blend kind of fruity. I really dislike the first phase, it is too loud. Not surprising, as white musk is not good on me. Oh well.

eta: I just assumed there was white musk! Must be the grey amber or white myrhh that is not playing nice with me.

  2. Very nice. This reminds me of Feed Me and Fill Me With Pleasure. I'm getting a slightly sweetened patch with maybe a touch of saffron. Too similar, in fact, to warrant any more.

eta: I'm liking this too much. I've got a wonderful forumite to pick me up a bottle. The saffron and sweetness bloomed after a bit, and I REALLY love it after the patch calms down. It's still there, but more like a cousin of Banshee Beat. I rarely upgrade these days, and am really excited to get a bottle:)

  3. I love Bourbon vanilla, and I've been on a cardamon kick lately, so I was looking forward to trying this. The apricot gives me pause, as I'm not into uber fruity blends. Right off, I'm getting the apricot, and it is a sweet one, and just as fruity as I feared it would be. I do smell the cardamon poking through. I don't get the vanilla, but maybe it's adding to the blend in another way. Seems like the apricot is backing off somewhat, but it is still too fruity for me. Fun to try, though!

  4. This smells like the Eight Petaled Lotus SN to me at first. This blend is lush, fresh and heady, like a jungle bloom with fruit in the background. Becomes dusty after awhile. I liked this at first, but I have my EPL that is pretty similar for some reason, and this one doesn't really smell like gardenia to me, and becomes dusty.

  5. I love the lab's almond note. It reminds me of a good quality marzipan, which I love to eat, and is probably the only foody note I like to wear. This is definitely almond blossom, as in Asp Viper, and Dana O'Shea at first. After a bit, the almond retreats somewhat and a vague floral comes out. I'm guessing the mimosa. I really like this, but it is too similar to Dana and Asp to warrant any more. I would basically say it's Asp Viper without the Snake Oil.

  6. This is like a more 'red' and unisex version of Haloes. Not the same notes, but I'm getting wood, vanilla, a touch of spice, and tobacco. Quite lovely, but I have Haloes and don't need anything else like it.

  7. This is amazing! I'm getting the dark vanilla, tobacco, and cardamon, all perfectly balanced. As with other glosses this year, it fades almost immediately. :( No upgraded because of this, but it truly is an amazing scent, and wish it could be made into a perfume. I'm not sure what it is with the glosses lately....

On second try, I'm not getting this wonderful fragrance. Maybe I should have shook it a bit. In fact, as I was doing my makeup, I wondered where the moose pee smell was coming from. It has a very distinct musky odor, and you can smell it in the woods around this country. Yeah, my head smells like moose pee. Not strong, thankfully, I will be shaking the next time.

  8. Yummy, creamy coconut. This does indeed remind me of those Ferrero Rocher white chocolate chocolates mentioned a few posts back. After a bit, this blend becomes dusty on me. Still very sweet and coconutty, but dusty. It was much to foody on me anyways.

  9. I love honey and sage, so I was looking forward to this one. I smell the sage in the bottle, and definitely the honey. On, it's more the hyssop than anything, but the air around me smells really good. Not too sweet, a mildly herbal/floral honey. I like this, I think it would be a perfect summer blend rather than autumn, though.

  10. I bought this bottle blind, as I love me some Bourbon Vanilla, tea and amber. Unfortunately, this is all jasmine tea, with emphasis on the jasmine. No amber or bourbon vanilla that I can detect. Not sure what's with the Bourbon vanilla this year, but this is another fail, along with BV bath oil. No more blind bottle purchases, it's too expensive of a mistake, especially with shipping and the USD. Very disappointed.

I do have to report that after a year of aging, this blend has done a 360. The Bourbon vanilla and amber are now in the front, and the jasmine tea is just a whisper. I'm so glad I stuck it out.

  11. I ordered right away, as I love my previous incarnation. This is nothing like it, and I am soooo disappointed. I'm used to the amazing non foody vanilla amazingness of the previous BVBO, this has none that I can detect. What I'm getting is very faint resins, kind of planty, then nothing. I am really upset about this, and will think twice about ordering a large bottle of anything that I considered my favourite from now on. If the blend is going to be that different, change the name already. I will check in a few days, as this just arrived yesterday, but I have my doubts.

  12. Fruity floral indeed! At first, this really smells like Juicy Fruit gum, but like the gum it loses it's flavor (scent) quickly. It's still quite fruity, but the sandalwood and champaca pokes out. I wish it poked out more, as well as the tea, which I don't smell at all. This blend is much too fruity on me. I'm trying to get the Lush comparison, and was quite excited when I heard that a few posts up, but I don't get that at all, at least the Lush store that is in my city. Disappointed.

eta: Another 10 minutes, aaaand, OK, the peach has calmed down, and it's a powdery sandalwood/champaca. More like Lush now. Hmm, I quite like this.

  13. Yes, Yes, YES!!! I love Vixen, and to have it in a hair gloss form is bonus. In the bottle, Vixen at it's best. I don't know how it can smell even better than the oil, but it does. It's like super aged Vixen, with the smooth patch and sweet orange blossom. Not sure what happened, but it fades into nothing in my hair:( I will still keep and use my bottle, but I wish it had a bit more 'oomph'.

  14. I'm an orange blossom fan, so I was quite interested to try this one. Right away, I recognize the orange blossom in the bottle. On my skin, strange things seem to happen. The resins dominate, and the orange blossom is in the background. I wish the vanilla flower and orange blossom came out more, and the resins less. The whole effect is not sweet, but a rather reedy, planty smelling orange blossom blend. Not a fan, and glad I only got a decant of this one.

  15. I was really looking forward to this one, but alas, the coconut is not behaving on me. At first, it's pretty coconut and honey, and lovely saffron. It kind of reminds me of Celeste at this point. After a bit, the coconut dominates, and it becomes rather dusty on me as coconut can do. Becomes more dusty, and this one becomes a 'no go'.

  16. Bright, cologney and metallic. Resin's are poking through a bit, but it is being overpowered by the blood note. This is much too loud and aggressive for me, and I don't like the musky cologne.

  17. This is basically the lab's pumpkin spice and a touch of a sharp wood, which I'm guessing is the rosewood. Not as sweet as the other pumpkins, and it seems more clove heavy. I think there is a bit of overkill on all the pumpkin spice blends.

  18. Rather strong and resinous. It becomes sour after awhile, which I'm assuming is the 'bad sour rose', that bpal puts out. Morphs between something like a resinous sour rose, and something savoury/foody, like bbq sauce made out of some kind of syrup. I love a resinous rose once in awhile, but this one is got that weird foody note, and the rose is just a bit too sour.

  19. I could hardly smell this one at first, and wrote it off as one of those 'disappearing bpal ones'. :) After a bit, I'm wondering what smelled so good, and realized it was me. I'm getting the red musk and leather and just a touch of red ginger. I don't mind the ginger, though red ginger can be an overpowering note, it is very subtle here. Not getting any patchouli, which is kind of odd...I'm on a red musk kick lately, and this one satisfies my need for the time being. I think I'm going to have to find a nice red musk luper. Suggestions? :) I like this one, but I bet I'm too late to find a bottle.

  20. Soft floral at first. It doesn't smell like rose, so it must be the lilac. Dry, well, the dried roses dominate now, along with the wood, and a cologne vibe. There's a bit of a metallic twang that morphs back and forth between the roses. I like the dried roses, but not that fond of the cologne. This is nice to try, but no need for more.
