    Bat of Virtue

Many thanks to the lovely forumite who frimped me this! You know who you are! I love most berry blends (except strawberry and blueberry) and LOVE frankinscence, so I was really looking forward to trying this. Unfortuneately, the strawberry dominates, I was kind of hoping for the hucklyberry, but it was not to be. This is like extremely sweet strawberry, nothing much else. I will say that it's not fake.

    Set v3

Wet, this is a dry, dusty blend with vetiver and maybe a touch of fruit, either apple or fig. I can't tell which. The fruitiness and vetiver fades off, and we're left with a soft, dusty blend, very reminiscent of Sunbird. This does fade faster than Sunbird, however, and it's not as dry or spicy. I'm a Sunbird fan, so I do like this, although I think Sunbird is a bit better.

    Bat of Health

May thanks to Twilight Eyes for frimping me this one! It's actually fitting that I picked this one out today, as I have been having health issues of late. On to the review! This doesn't change much from wet to dry. Wet, there is some sassafras and unidentifiable herbs and a touch of fig. The sassafrass fades away, and we're left with a fresh, herbal fig. Very reminiscent of Tabella, actually. I really like this, and will guard this little gem as long as she lasts!

    Doc Constantine's Medicine Show

This is very fresh and melony to me, something I don't normally wear, but am enjoying it as a room spray. It makes the house seem very clean. I don't get rum or the resins, and don't find it masculine at all. After awhile, the melony vibe wears off, and we're left with sweet resins with a freshness to the blend. LOVE!! I'd just like to add, that this lasted ALL DAY in my living room. I'm usually not one for room scents, as I burn tarts, but this is so very yummy, I'll probably spring for a bottle on mynext TP order. If it is available of course!

    Cake Smash

Well hello Beaver'versary! I had high hopes for this one to be a non-foody foody with the Snake Oil and Dorian, but sadly all I get is something pretty similar to Beaver'versary, but with less cream cheese. I sure hope the other notes come with a bit of time. Overall, this blend is far to sweeet for me.

    Devil's Night

In the bottle, something is not sitting right with me. Almost like candied fruits, but in a bad way. Thankfully, this does not stick around on, and we have have a predominantly cinnamon blend to me. As it dries, the cinnamon is still there, but there is a 'creaminess' developing. Maybe the booze? While I love spicy blends, I have plenty of them. I sure hope some of the other notes come out a bit more with age, as the description does sound lovely.

    Boo

Boo is a very nice creamy vanilla. I get the cotton when it's wet, but that slowly fades away. This is pretty much the same vanilla as in Snow White. I do get the resemblance to Midway and Plastic Pink Flamingo, though I like PPF a bit better. This is a tad too foody to me, but I'll certainly use it when I need a nice, comforting scent.

    Mlle. Lilith, Fortune Teller

I really thought this one would be a no-brainer, as I love all of the notes. So much so, that I went searching for a back-up before even getting my order. Unfortuneately, this ends up being way too sweet on me. When I seen the references to Shango, I did do a teeny mental 'uh oh', but prompty ignored it. Shango is a pretty good comparison, another blend that just does not work for me. In summary, a sweet, fruity incense with a touch of coconut. So sad.

    Raven Moon

This one was a no-brainer bottle purchase for me, as I love all the notes. Upon getting the bottle, however, I sniffed, and it smelled quite awful. My mom is a herbalist, and makes homemade Echinacea tinctures. If anyone has taken echinacea to ward off a cold, it smells just like that wet. Thankfully, this disappears quickly when applied, and we're left with a gorgeous smoky vanilla with a touch of gentle musk. Quite amazing, actually. Like others have noted, RM is quite the morpher. At one point, after 15 minutes or so, it actually disappeared completely, but came back a few minutes later. This is not a 'strong' blend on me, it's quite a delicate, soft black 'velvet' blend. Whoever said this blend smells like black velvet would, is bang on. There is a touch of spice here, that is just enough to make it interesting. A TOTAL win, and I'm likely going to try and hunt down a back-up. Aged, this will be even better, and I'm wondering how it will layer with Snake Oil. Hmm.

    The Hell-Gate Of Ireland

Wet, this was pretty nasty on me. Overwhelming masculine smoke, it actually made me pretty nauseous. Soon, it dried down to a sweet, resin-y incense blend, reminiscent of Uncertain Horror, actually. I like this, and will probably keep the bottle. I'm hoping the initial wet phase will calm down a bit.

    Sachs

This is a very beautiful smoky vanilla with a touch of herby chamomile. Unfortuneately, I can hardly smell it after a few minutes. I sure hope it gets stronger with a bit of cellaring, because it really is quite beautiful.

    Mircalla, Countess Karnstein

I got Mircalla unsniffed, and she does not disappoint! This is one dark Vamp! I don't find the red musk overtakes as in other RM blends. Everything is so well put together here, that I'm having a tough time picking out individual notes. Just a smoky musk blend. I kind of wish the tonka and vanilla would come out a bit more, but maybe it will with age. This blend kind of reminds me of Mme Moriarty and Arachnina a bit. Maybe a 'bitten' version, so to speak. At any rate, I love her, and will keep the bottle for evening wear probably. This blend probably would burn up in the daylight. eta: After re-trying, I think this is more similar to Marianne, which I love also. Really it's almost a dead ringer to me. Rats. I wanted something a bit more different. I did 'just' get it in the mail yesterday, so maybe it needs to settle. Not that I don't like it, just that I already have two Marianne's.

    Lilith vs. the Giant Crab

To think I almost passed this one by because of the ambergris! I really do love this blend. It is a creamy, orange and vanilla when wet, and dries to pretty much Lush's American Cream, a perfume I love. Only this one has no alcohol and I find the staying power is better than the solid that Lush sells. A very pretty, femine musky vanilla, with a touch of orange. Me loves and must hunt some more down!

    Tanuki

Wow, plum blossom sure likes me! This is very reminiscent of Lover's In a Ricefield to me, only not as sweet, which is a good thing. I get a bit of fruity musk here as well. I'm quite surprised this is wearablee to me, as plum blossom is usually a big no-no. I'll certainly enjoy the imp, (probably more in the spring/summer), but I don't need to track a bottle down.
  15. Wow I really did not expect to like this as much as I do, being a non-foody person. Wet, this is boozy chocolate. As it dries, the chocolate fades away, and we're left with a boozy vanilla with a touch of musk. This actually reminds me a lot of Snake Oil, but without the resin's and spices. Whoever said Underpants, it is pretty close to that too. Sooo, we're left with a Snake (Oil) wearing Underpants. If you liked the vanilla in Snake Oil, but not the spices and resins, you may like this. I think MAYBE a bottle purchase is in order, I love the whisper of musky booziness along with the warm vanilla. The only minor complaint that I have, is that it is a tad too sweet, hence the MAYBE for a potential purchase, but otherwise, a win. I love surprises!

    The Brides of Dracula

Unquenchable desire, seething lust, malevolent sexuality, and voracious hunger lurking beneath a shimmering veil of unearthly beauty: gleaming skin musk, honey and white amber, plum blossom, osmanthus, sandalwood, calla lily, and a light, sensual blend of Eastern spices. Wet, this is quite pretty with a fresh lily-like vibe. As it dries, the scent becomes more like jasmine, which is not listed. It becomes quite powdery, which jasmine does to me, but I'm thinking it's probably the lily. I don't get much else but a powdery lily (jasmine). Ah well.

    Perle von Mauren

I love heliotrope, and this one does not disappoint. A very 'true' heliotrope, the best I've smelled in any blend from wet to dry. I don't get any blood or dirt at all. Heliotrope kind of smells like vanilla to me with a touch of soft floral. This one is a warm, friendly vampire.

    Joyeux Noel

This is all pine and mint to me. I could swear there is cranberries as well. It dries to a creamy, fruit, very reminiscent of Lambs Wool, only a Christmas version. I like this, but will stick with Midnight Mass for my bpal Christmas scent.

    Hua Mulan

This is a fresh, citrussy floral. The jasmine is behaving, and not amping on my skin. The blend is reminding me a lot of Embalming Fluid, but a bit more florally and a touch powdery. Overall, a beautiful blend for the summer months, and will definitely be using up my imps then. eta: I forgot to mention that I don't get any leather at all. I do love leather, but I'm not so sure it would even 'go' with this blend.

    High-Strung Daisies

Whoa, this one is SWEET! Dry, it is quite reminiscent of a blend I've smelled before, but I can't think of what. Quite candy-like. Maybe Candy Phoenix? If that's the one, this one is better in my opinion. Dry, there is a bit of odd floral happening. Kind of citrussy somehow, maybe it's the pink pepper? At any rate, this blend is much too sweet for me, but I can see why it could be very popular. Much better than other sweet candy blends, as it's sweet but not fake. There is a vague resemblance to Hope here, but distant. This is much more sweet and citrussy/peppery. Off to swaps with ya!

    Leaf-Strewn Couch

Wet, and in the imp, this smells like strong, wet rotting leaves. Thankfully, it dries to a soft leaf scent with a bit of concrete. I think I get a bit of vetiver here, which is making the blend slightly powdery. LSC truly fit's it's description, and I can indeed imagine a couch sitting outside in the fall with leaves all over it. Quite pleasant, but I don't think I need a bottle.

    Blood Lotus

I really used to find dragon's blood too floral and cloying. Now, there is a nice spiciness to the sweet floral, and I'm starting to wish I didn't get rid of my DBR frimps from the lab. On to the review. This is quite candy-like with the lotus, and balanced off with the spicy of the dragon's blood. Although I generally don't like candy blends, for some reason I like lotus. This is definitely an interesting blend, not sure if it is me, but I'll definitely use the imp when I want a sweet, spicy kick to my day!

    Unexpected Golf Hazard

Hmm, another bitter WKAP scent. Like the Typewriter one, this one has a strong bitterness to it. It's more of a 'weedy' grass, rather than fresh untouched, no weeds grass. It's like you've mowed nettles and dandelions, various wildflowers and of course, grass. I liked the smell of this in the imp, but on, it is just wrong. So far, my skin just doesn't like these Amanda Palmer blends.

Manus Dei (or the Typewriter Incident)

I better review this one before it fades away! Yes, it disappears fairly quickly. At first, there is a bitterness that kind of reminds me of orange blossom, but it the bitter doesn't fade like orange blossom. Instead it sticks around, and is more like, say, stinging nettle or that really poky plant with the purple flowers on top. Thistle, that's the name!! This fades, and it smells like sewing machine oil, or perhaps the typewriter oil. My mom had an old typewriter from the 40's/50's, and it doesn't smell like that at all to me. Not really something I'd wear, and thankfully, it fades quickly, as it doesn't meld with my chemistry very well. Very glad to have tried this, though!!

    Siren

At first, this blend was too much everything to me. Too much spice, floral, and there is a fruity quality as well. It gradually died down to a 'rough' ginger, kind of reminiscent of War. I guess I don't like this particular ginger, as this blend is just plain awful on me, as War was. I do like the ginger of Opuhi, but this is definitely not the same ginger. Quite nauseating, actually. Off to swaps with ya.
