    Helpful Crone

Something about this blend reminds me of Bat of Longevity, it's got that same tobacco thing going that is amping up on me. After awhile, it becomes more herbal, and less tobacco-y. I quite like this, it more smells like a sexy dude to me though. Sooo, Helpful Dude?? on me anyways:)

    Knight in Shiny Armor

Dude cologne alert! Quite masculine, but fresh, like a guy out of the shower. There's something akin to tobacco here, which lends a nice touch. I kind of like metallic scents once in awhile, especially on a guy, they're fresh and crisp. I'll try to save this one to test on a guy sometime, I quite like this one, but will probably never wear it, so the 1/2 decant will suffice.

    Pits and Galleries of Panic

Sharp and resinous with the opoponax. After a bit, it kind of smells like tart berries and resins. This really isn't my thing, it smells kind of moldy.

    Herodotus' Phoenix

Resin Heaven!! Lot's of myrhh and frankincense here, folks, and with a touch of vanilla, though that's probably the honey. Some resin's remind me of Christmas, and though there is lots here, this one more reminds me of a cross between Le Lugugre Gondola and Schwarzer Mond. I like this, but I rarely wear the frank and myrhh scents that I have, and more around Christmas. This is quite nice, but a little goes a long way.

    Disco Snowballs

Wet, bright, fruity and tart, all at the same time, with a bit of effervescence thrown in. Dry, the snow note comes out, along with the fruit, though the fizziness has disappeared. I'm getting that weird fungus note that seems to be par with my skin chemistry with some snow notes, citrus and pom. So, this is not for me, but I do like the citrusy aspect of this blend, it's my skin that doesn't like it.

    Hesiod's Phoenix

This is a pretty amber vanilla, but nothing really spectacular, or is knocking my socks off. Just a pretty blend that fades rather quickly. Maybe I'm just getting picky in my old age:) It kind of reminds me of the Harp blend, a few years back. I love amber, but this is really kind of blah. I'll retest later. Maybe I'm just in a weird non amber mood today. OK, a couple of months later, and this is quite spectacular. I don't even want to use it to fear it will be gone too soon! Warm amber and vanilla, kind of sweet. Nothing like the Harp now. Full bodied, sexy amber. I bet this would be amazing layered with Snake Oil...

The Putrescent Juice of Earth's Inner Horrors

Maybe it's just the title, but this really does smell putrid to me. Definite vetiver, and something else that translates as medicinal. I sure hope it fades quickly on me, as it's a pretty awful mesh with my skin chemistry. I'm not getting the patch or pom, and usually those notes like my skin.

    Sampaguita

From wet to dry, this is extreme heady of floral of the sickly cloying variety. I dislike the lab's jasmine note, I find it too sour and perfumey. This to me, this sampaguita floral is of the cat pee territory. I was wishing it would be like the lab's gardenia note, which I love, but it is not to be. I will pass this on to someone who will appreciate it.

    skekNa the Slave-Master

Spice and something fruity at first. It reminds me of a spicy bubblegum. Dry, more spice. Not getting the cake at all, just a slightly fruity berry-like spice. Not really my thing.

    Opiate Southern Gardens of Orchids

Lot's of incense here, I'm suspecting the poppy is the culprit here. This ends up being very perfumey on me, a little too much incense along with a strong musk. I'm getting an odd fungus funk here, and a bit of aquatic greenness, which actually saves this blend somewhat on me. Still, it's not enough, and this will not be an upgrade.

    skekZok the Ritual Master

Lovely incense, resins. It reminds me of another bpal incense blend, but I can't think of which one atm. Nice, but The Witch Dance and Midnight on the Midway are my faves and it's gotta be REALLY good to top those.

    Wicked Matriarch

Voluptuous, haughty red rose and resins. I tend to like resiny rose more than a delicate or sour rose, and this one fits the bill, and the patch really adds a nice touch too. This kind of reminds me of Red Rose, from the Post's Unity set a few years back. Though I like these types of rose blends, I rarely wear them, so my decant is more than enough.

    Corrupt Chancellor

Not getting a lot of vetiver here, surprisingly, as it normally seems to take over a blend. Yes, it's a cologne, but a GOOD dude one. I'm having a hard time picking out notes, but there's the cologne along with dry sandalwood, smoke and citrus. This is a sophisticated, rich dude blend, the kind worn on Wall Street. I really like this, and would like to smell it on a guy, though I would never wear it.

The Boundless Vista of an Inner World

Sour and salty indeed! This one is a bit odd, and not something that I care to smell like. Kind of masculine. It may be quite nice with the right skin chemistry on a guy, but on me, this is rather distasteful.

    Old Keturah Zadok's Cranberry Cider

Sweet, juicy cranberry at first. As it dries, the spices come out, so it's a sweet, spicy cranberry cider scent. This is just a little bit too sweet on me, and I wish the cranberry were a bit more tart.

    The Memory of Primal Secrets

At first, I'm getting the incense, but as it dries, it turns more of a green scented aquatic, like rain in a tropical forest. Quite similar to other aquatic blends from this years Yules. Hmm.

The Spell of the Eastern Sea

Kind of a sharp aquatic of the salt water variety. It's really quite odd at first. I could swear there was some kind of cookie note, but that fades pretty fast.

    Whispers of Monstrous Things

Smells like yellowish decay, really not pleasant. Softens up a bit, and the cucumber comes out, but this is a definite pass.

    All Hallow's Apple

I'm not big on apple scents. They somehow remind me of shampoo in the worst possible way, namely Pert Plus. I thought maybe this one would be different, but no, same shampoo smell, but with added dirt to it. Not my thing, but if you like apple scents, I'd give this one a try.

    Titan Toadstools and Leprous Fire

Green, green, green and more green:) I'm getting green grass, lime, celery, kelp and moss. I actually quite like this, it reminds me of a spring breeze in a meadow with lots of lakes and a mountain with snow nearby. I do wish the celery was a bit less dominant, though, and that would make this blend perfect.

    Horror Unthinkable and Unexpected

Pretty yucky at first. The vetiver is dominating, and it is not combining nicely with something kind of sour. Maybe that's the oakmoss? Dry, rather pretty. No vetiver, just a soft, clean musk. Nice, but no upgrade necessary.

    Three Impossible Errands Bath Oil

I love geranium. It reminds me of Aura Suavis shower gel from Lush, which reminds me of my son, who happens to love that shower gel. He used it in really hot weather, so it reminds me of summer and my son. I wish it was still available. So, this is geranium dominant at first, really smelling a lot of the aforementioned shower gel. It dries to a soft, creamy vanilla scent with a touch of floral, which must be the vanilla orchid coming out. So even though the geranium didn't stick around, this is still very pretty, and I like the dry down as much as the earlier stages. Win, but I'll probably enjoy this more in warmer months.

    A Low Candle-Lit Room

This is definitely a beeswax heavy blend, with a slight hint of smoke and honey. It reminds me very much of Hanerot Halalue (sp), another beeswax blend from a few years back. Hmm, it seems like the names are just changing with some of these Yule blends throughout the years, but maybe it's just me. Nice to try, but this really doesn't seem like a perfume to me, more like an atmosphere blend.

    Chocolate Espresso Gingerbread Bath Oil

I was really looking forward to trying this, as it smells so YUM in the bottle. Sadly, it ends up being musty dusty chocolate that fell into a pot of coffee that was sitting all day. Glad I didn't go for a bottle, because I did like the perfume version, I think.

    skekTek the Scientist

At first, lots of currant and a touch of myrhh. I love the sharpness of black currant, and this is quite pretty. Dries down much the same, but fades pretty fast, though this could be because I have a slight cold. I don't think I need anymore.
