I'm a fan of all the notes in this scent and am excited to try it! Sniffing the bottle a hideously thick cookie batter smells goes up my nose. There'snothing foody in it, maybe the ginger is the problem? Not too sure I want to put this on myself but I'll give it a try anyway. Once on the cookies get up my nose wherever I put my arm! I can smell the ginger in the form of ginger beer, yummy but not with the cookies. as others have said it smells of buttery ginger snaps. I love eating these but am not too keen on smelling like them. I'm not letting this dry as I want to wash it off. it's giving me a headache and it's just too buttery/sugary/gingery. shame. EDIT: washing with soap and water and I can still smell it, must be long lasting haha!

I got this imp as a freebie, and wouldn't have chosen it myself but will give it a try anyway. Sniffing the bottle I grimace. Eww what is wrong with it?!! It smells like some sort of alcohol and that's all I can smell. I presume an alcohol that disagreed with me, as this smell is making me feel sick. A flavoured vodka of some sort. Once on I can smell some fruits coming through, it's more pleasant but I'm still not convinced. There's something very sweet in the background and I can almost smell the chocolate. When dry I can smell a warm and sweet scent, still a bit fruity, the wine maybe? It all seems to be merged together and it just isn't me I'm afraid, it's sweet and sickly so would suit people with a big sweet tooth!

This is my first poppy tryout. I have some incense sticks in opium and adore the scent so have high hopes for this one. Sniffing the bottle I can smell a sweet scent, not heavy, but not light either. It doesn't smell very floral, but reminds me of my Uncles' house who always has fresh flowers around. Once on I can smell my Grandparents bathroom?? I can't even explain the smell of this one! Not hideous, it's a nice smell, but I don't want to smell of it. Probably a mixture of different lotions and potions. When dry it smells a bit soapy, that slight imperial leather smell that I got with penthus. I'm dissapointed in this one, maybe I should just carry my incense stick around with me instead!

I like rose and incense and was intrigued by the salt tears aspect. Sniffing the bottle I can smell a very light floral, reminiscent of a childhood perfume. Possibly when I made my own by putting rose petals into water! I'm not sure this will have much throw or staying power on me though. Once on I can smell flowery soap, not great. There doesn't seem to be any throw and I'm still searching for the salt tears. When dry it just smells of soap, imperial leather actually. I never did find the salt tears or even a whiff on incense. I won't be wearing it again.

I adore myrrh and violet so was hopeful for this one. Sniffing the bottle I can smella bit of myrrh but mainly florals, i presume the lily. Let's hope things change when i put it on! Once on, the lily is pretty much all I can smell even when my wrist isn't against my nose! On closer inspection I can smell juniper, but only with my nose attached to my wrist. When dry it's just too floral for my nose and gives me a slight headache. I won't be wearing this again, however I think floral lovers will really really like it.

I bought an imp of Scherezade and to my nose it smells EXACTLY like Dior Hypnotic Poison which I also own.

At first sniff I'm reminded of my local New Age shop; very incensy. There's a slight fruityness about it. As it dries it smells lighter but I really like it! Once dry, my fiance commented on how it smelled like a joss stick! By the evening it smelled very similar to Dior's Hypnotic Poison; a hint of vanilla perhaps? It didn't have much throw, but I still liked it.

My first dragon's blood experience, this imp was a freebie. At first sniff a sharp, greeny smells shoots up my nose. I assumed it would be more syrupy. Once on it smells a bit floral on me. It has quite a good throw at the moment, but reminds me a teeny bit of a soap I once had, nice nonetheless. Now dry it smells like a delicate floral soap. Not really my cup of tea I'm afraid.

At first sniff it smells clean and beautiful, reminiscent of one of my mum's old Chanel perfumes. Wet it smells pretty much the same; a light and green scent. Dry it smells much lighter, is there a hint of jasmine? Not really what I was expecting, and I don't think it will have much staying power. After a few hours all the greeness has gone and I am left with a light, spicy scent. Not bad, but not worth a bottle.

At first sniff I got a punch in the face by a sweet smell with a dark and bitter edge to it. A hint of liquorice or aniseed perhaps? It should be interesting! Now on and drying; spicy and reminiscent of a Church. Now that it's dry it is deeply spicy/incensy, but nothing overly distinctive. I still like it though and may consider getting a bottle.

At first sniff it smells waem and spicy, with a slight vanilla powdryness. It smells like it could belong in the lighter end of the Snake Oil family. Once on it's not doing much for me. Now dry, there's not much throw and I don't think it likes my chemistry very much

apologies for not seeing this thread, i browsed a teeny bit but am currently on my mum's dial-up so gave up and postd a new thread. You won't believe how long it's taken me to read this entire thread!! There's a few ideas that sound good to try. I'd really like a top with a glass wand on it, but the linked webpages are in the US. I'll have to try and google some UK ones!

I have acquired my first full size bottle (of Snake Oil), but am unsure of how to apply it? It seems a bit wasteful to apply with my finger, afterall, I don't need my finger to smell and I'd probably look rather odd giving it a sniff throughout the day

My second round of imps. This is the last imp that I have left to test. I open the bottle and smell a masculine scent, reminisent of my dad's aftershave collection - a good thing! I dab it on my wrist and am again smelling that greeny peas fresh from the pod smell! I had this with Saturnalia and Delight (I think), this must be common with greeny smells. As it's drying it is softening and turning powdery, is this going to be like Saturnalia and make me love it more as it dries? I can't describe this scent, it reminds me of Delight (possibly because that is also on my arm!), in which case the smell isn't as strong as I thought it was going to be. This isn't a strong scent at all, I have to press my nose on my wrist to get anything, such a shame because I think it smells of a wet woodland but with a spicy hint to it. Perhaps one best given to the OH.

My second round of imps. This is actually a replacement for Asp Viper, so I have no idea what this will be like. I open the bottle and smell alcohol mixed with the smell of my mum's hair just after she's washed and dried it! I am used to deep scents, this one is much lighter than I like to try but I'll see what it's like once applied. It's smelling a bit artificial on me and I can't seem to smell anything natural. As it dries I am beginning to smell some sort of plant/flower, now I think the jasmine is coming through. Once dried I can definately smell the jasmine, but still some shampoo coming through! This isn't a sexy scent like I was after, but I think it will make a DELIGHTful summer scent!

My second round of imps. I open the bottle and get a whiff of ylang ylang and some myrrh, thi smells sweet and fresh at the same time. Once applied it's smell remind me of my first whiff of saturnalia, that greeny smell of peas fresh from their pod. Now that it's drying it's turning back to the first whiff - sweet/fresh. As it dries further it is turning into a more sexy scent. I have a product with a mix of ylang ylang and patchouli which I adore it's fresh sexy, but LUST is mixed with my beloved myrrh (which always turns to pure sex on me!) This is a fab scent and I can't wait to entrap my OH with it

My second round of imps. I open the bottle and get a heavy whiff of sweet myrrh. This instantly reminds me of snake oil and I am in heaven!! I dab a bit on my arm and can smell it very strongly when it's by my side; a heady mix of cherries and myrrh. As it dries the sweetness fades and is starting to smell slightly floral - please NO this was so good to start with! The mix has now turned incensey and I am enjoying it more, it almost has a powdery smell to it. The cherries are no longer at the front and all the smells have mixed together. I can't describe the combined scent, I do like it though, but am a little dissapointed at how much it has changed from when it was wet.

My second round of imps. As I open the bottle and take a whiff I can smell green, raw peas from their pod, eek! Perhaps it smells better on? The green isn't as strong and violet is trying to peek through, but am still not keen, hoping it's better after it has dried! Now that is has dried I can smell a nice powdry smell when my arm is by my side. At closer sniff I am getting fresh violets after a heavy rain that are surrounded by herbally grasses. The vertivert has calmed down and is hiding behind the scenes cutting away at the sweet scent. I think I will like this more as it develops over time as I can't stop sniffing my arm!

My second round of imps. As I open the bottle I can smell a deep resin/herbal scent, my mouth waters as I am reminded of bitter chocolate. As I dab it on my arm I can't smell any myrrh so presume I am smelling the frankincense. Now that is has dried it has mellowed out a bit, but still smells mainly of frankincense. This is my first try of greener smells, I am finding it quite masculine and am surprised at how much I like this! I have a feeling the OH may try and steal this one, good luck!

My second round of imps. This is the first bottle I open to sniff and I can smell the rose quite heavily, thankfully I have just recently gotten into rose scents! I dab a bit on my arm, and can smell it even when it's by my side! It's smelling very strongly and reminds me of some sort of candle! I think I am smelling the musk in it now, as it dries this musk smell gets stronger. It's now dried and still smells quite heavily of musk (and as someone else mentioned; a floral soap), unfortunately I am not too keen on this scent so doubt I will be wearing this very often.

My boyfriend loves me in Armani Night, and I get complemented whenever I wear it. I know it has myrrh notes. Also, my two most fave insense sticks are Myrrh! My fave bpal blend so far is Snake Oil (I've only tried 6 imps). Does anyone have any recommendations for me please? Thank you

Another major fan here! My first buy under high recommendation for my Lushforum friends. I was after a sexy scent, and boy did I get it! At first sniff I can smell a deep and spicy scent, almost slighlty herbal. Once I put it on the vanilla comes out and mixes in with the spices. It's a strong, deep, and warm smell that makes you feel very womanly and sexy. It makes me feel like swanning around in a long velvet dress while men drop at my feet (if only!). It does mellow and fade a bit towards the evening, but is my favourite scent

One of my first buys, I was searching for a violet scent. When I first sniff it the violets leap out up my nose! When I put it on, the patchouli is the main runner when it is wet. As it dries the violets come out more, leaving a clean smelling mix of violets and patchouli. This is one of my favourite blends! Although I would prefer it to be stronger on my skin, and last a little longer.

Another first buy, recommended as a nice jasmine scent. At first sniff it smells like alcohol, slightly gin and tonic like (not necessarily a bad thing!) Once on I can smell the jasmine, and a slight ginger smell. It's warm and spicy. The jasmine comes out more as it dries, as does the honeysuckle. Leaving me with a slight sweet and spicy smell that I can't tell whether I love or not! Definately an interesting mix.

One of my first buys, I was searching for a jasmine scent. At first sniff I smell a sweet, sharp, flowery scent. Once on I am reminded of a clean and sophisticated perfume (one my mother wore). It softens and deepens on my skin as it's drying. And finally fades into a slight jasmine scent. A lovely light fragrance for summer, but does not last any time on my skin.
