Straight out of the gate, all lavender. Within less than a minute, this transitions to a very strong, sharp sugared lemon and tea. It's recognizably Dorian, but not as cozy and smooth as I'm used to. I'm hoping it just needs a chance to age as I haven't sniffed fresh bottle of Dorian in quite a while. Given enough time, the sugary vanilla of Antique Lace becomes perceptible beneath the glowing lemony lavender haze. It's definitely there but seems to stay secondary to Dorian for me. I don't pick up on any pink pepper. I think the two scents round each other out quite nicely. And the scent settles into a warm, sweet, and subtle wear. I'm not going to need any backups, but I'm happy to have a bottle. I think lovers of either Dorian or Antique Lace will find this completes their collection quite nicely.

This is a beautiful, subtle, elegant scent. At the forefront it is a wispy vanilla made light by a hint of ambergris. The moonflower is there as well as the lightest touch of the white tobacco petals. A delicate, blurred misty scent. Not over sweet. Slightly powdery and white. It is not the same as but in a similar vein to Edith for me. I would venture to say that Zorya is a touch sweeter, perhaps. I wouldn't go so far as to say she's in my list of top favorite scents but she will definitely get a lot of wear. The type of scent you could effortlessly wear inoffensively to the office or on nights out when you want to give off a hint of ghostly allure.

Yeah this is a strange one. I'm having a hard time pinning down scents in the bottle. I find if I roll or gently shake the bottle before sniffing, I will sometimes get different scents. On one cold sniff I smelled chocolate and on another something earthy like vetiver. Given how many oils are in here, it's no surprise that some of them are settling more than others. I don't find it sharp or overbearing as some people have said. On my skin wet it smells very musky and soon after settles into a musky powdery herbal incense scent. A few minutes later there is a definite fresh floral cool scent. Like mint musk and soft florals. It begins to sweeten and every time I smell it, there's something new to pick out: smoke, leather, incense, fruit....it's all there. In the end all I can say is it's a subtle musky slightly sweet scent with hints of incense, herbs, earth, and florals. It all seems to cancel out into a generally warm, pleasant, fuzzy background noise.

Snake Skin starts out with a strong in your face new black leather. For the first 10 minutes or so it is almost too much. However, it dries down into a much more balanced and lovely dark vanilla and leather blend. The leather accord here does start to head into near almond territory for me which might be where people are getting cherry. I do wonder if almond might be a part of the Lab's leather since it can have that sort of acrid feel once in a while. Regardless, what I end up with is a smooth sexy almond leather and Snake Oil experience. On full dry down hours later it smells nearly identical to regular SO's drydown. I happily grabbed a full bottle.

I get both a rich chocolate and sweet buttery shortbread cookies in nearly equal measure. Not as spicy as El Dias as it seems to lack the cinnamon. I love this rich buttery sweetness and will definitely consider a full bottle!

Sorry, not one of the requests above but couldn't help taking a little photo-shoot of my two newest scents:

A dense slice of moist yellow cake absolutely dripping with thick golden honey. This is a heavy, sweet, foodie scent. My skin chemistry turns the cake in Eat Me to powdery dry crumbs but the cake in Sharing is a surprise winner and will be happily worn especially in cooler weather. It might be a bit too much on hot days for me.

This is also primarily what I believe to be black musk on me. Black musk to me is warm, musky, sweet and almost a hint lemony. There's a definite soft dusty sandalwood and melding of vanilla. All in all a soft, sweet, musky scent that is comforting and subdued. It's quite pretty although I'm not sure I really need the full blind bottle I bought. I suspect I'll only want to wear it when I'm in the sort of mood that a cool, rainy day inspires.

And have been on the hunt for Loli.Goth. Really digging your recommendation of Delight and Consternation, the Final Darkness, and Oceanus Procellarm! Thanks! Roseus, Venus Murica sounds beautiful! I need to keep an eye open for it. And Dee has been mentioned many times with great affection on the forum so I'll definitely have to give it a go. Thank you!

Thank you! You know, try as I might, I couldn't find one for Papyrus. That's not to say there isn't a scent out there that fits him. I just haven't thought of it yet. The same could be said for Alphys, Flowey, Muffet, and "Hyperdeath" Asriel.

No one has requested Undertale, but in case anyone ever does: Toriel: Adrastea-A maternal perfume: warm, comforting, and protective. Goat’s milk accord, white honey, cacao-dusted amber, white coconut, white rose, and benzoin. Asgore: Haunted-A mournful, poignant scent, thick with foreboding. Soft golden amber darkened with a touch of murky black musk. Child Asriel: Enraged Bunny Musk-Soft cotton blossom, white musk, baby’s breath, clover and pale powder notes. Sans: Bones Trombone-Pie crust, smears of blueberry marshmallow cream and lemon meringue, and hemlock. Undyne: Fighter- Leather, musk, blood, and steel. Frisk: Love’s Philosophy- Vanilla, saffron, and cream. Chara: Burial-The scent of upturned cemetery loam mingling with floral offerings to the dead. Mettaton: Cyborg- Gleaming metal and black leather over a khus-darkened bay rum. Gaster: Mad Hatter- A gentlemen’s lavender-citron cologne unhinged by the feral pungence of black musk and a paroxysm of pennyroyal.

Dorian would have been my top pick if you hadn't already had it. It's good for sleeping, it's good for being cozy in a big warm blanket, it's good for wearing on a day when you're too worn out to put in any effort. Other favorites would be Dragon's Milk (sweet and indulgent), Obatala (tropical lazing), Sea of Glass (clean and calming), TKO (of course), Macchu Picchu (breezy tropical lazing), and Shanghai (clean and light).

Put me on the list as another person who was expecting amber and resins. This is not nearly as sweet as I was anticipating. It's definitely ceder and perhaps some woody patchouli. Lovers of ceder and woody scents in general will find this a pretty straightforward wood scent. Personally, it goes all to hamster bedding on me.

This was a frimp from the Lab. As with many others in this thread, I'm having a hard time pinpointing exactly what I'm smelling because there seems to be a lot going on. There's definitely rose and something herbal I can't identify. There's also something that smells like spice. Perhaps clove or cinnamon or something else warm and spicy. Or perhaps carnation has been thrown into the mix. The overall effect on my skin is of tea rose backed by an unidentifiable spicy herbal scent. Not really my cup of tea but perhaps someone else's?

Popping in to say that Voodoo has hints of Lord of Misrule to it. Notes are: "A deep, powerful, resonant blend of myrrh, patchouli, vetiver, lime, vanilla, pine, almond and clove." It's decidedly NOT LOM but the vanilla patch is pretty close and the spicy clove actually has a similar kick to the black pepper in LOM.

Oh no! I forgot to check in on this thread again! I'm so glad to hear it worked out for you! <3 I'm going to go ahead and do the recommend me a scent thing as well, I think. I love giving recommendations but I love getting them, too! I kept putting it off because I have a hard time objectively describing myself but I'll do my best. The quick and simple: INFJ, Leo/Cancer Cusp, Fire Rabbit, Ravenclaw. The vague and considerably more complex: I tend to be quite low energy, much more of a night owl than a morning person. I enjoy controlled and limited social interaction, and can be quite amicable and sociable when necessary. However, I'm an introvert at heart and need lots of time to myself to recuperate after social interaction as I am very empathetic and tend to take in a lot of emotions from people around me. I have a highly stressful job and covet any relaxation time I get. My sense of humor can be somewhat sharp, self-depreciating, and deadpan, however, I try to be a kind person and value kindness in another person very highly. I take comfort in surrounding myself with things I find aesthetically pleasing to all of my senses thus my love of all things scented. I fill my living space with candles and room sprays and incense and pretty things. In a similar vein, I tend to enjoy wearing particular fashions that make me feel good. My wardrobe tends to rang from Japanese Lolita to Mori Girl to Goth/Punk to many things in between. I enjoy creative writing, especially favoring fantasy-horror and urban-fairytale. However, I find it exhausting so I don't do as much of it as I did when I wasn't employed full time. I like to read but don't get around to it as much as I used to. Some of my favorite authors are Terry Pratchett, Brian Jacques, and Garth Nix. I love fantasy, of course. I occasionally play video games. Some of my favorite are Monster Hunter, Minecraft, Undertale, Pokemon, and Zelda. When I was a child, I wanted to grow up to be a dragon. As an adult, that doesn't seem like such a bad career path after all. In the light of day, I'm a realist who expects the worst. In the light of the stars, my heart feels freer to wander back to the romantic place it was born from. I love the ocean, space, rain, and deep forests. This has gotten a bit long. Oops!

Joyleaf, hello! I'm going to base these on your personality rather than necessarily the notes in the scents you like. Although I would have definitely mentioned Madame Moriarty if you hadn't already! Hope you don't mind. Will stay away from your nope scents though. How about: Bewitched: Deep, luscious green and berry scents that evoke images of woodland witchcraft and the raw power of nature: blackberry, sage, green tea, wild berries and dark musk. (For power through nature and witchcraft) Leo: Egyptian amber, walnut bark, chamomile, frankincense, and saffron. (Lioness!) Titania: A nocturnal bounty of fae dew-kissed petals and pale fruits: white grape, white peach, iced pear, musk rose, sweet pea, moonflower and snapdragon. (For a fairy queen!) Anne Bonny: Wicked, cruel, beautiful, intelligent, resourceful and dangerous: a true role model. A blend of Indonesian red patchouli, red sandalwood, and frankincense. (For a strong-hearted and headstrong woman if you identify as such.) The Lights of Men's Lives: The wax and smoke of millions upon millions of candles illuminating the walls of Death’s shadowy cave: some tall, straight, and strong, blazing with the fire of life, others dim and guttering. (Uh, candles basically.) Snake Oil: Magnetic, mysterious, and exceedingly sexual in nature. A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla. (For a Slytherian! Consider also any of the new Snake Pit release or Snake Charmer.) The Caterpillar: Heavy incense notes waft lazily through a mix of carnation, jasmine, bergamot, and neroli over a lush bed of dark mosses, iris blossom, deep patchouli and indolent vetiver. (Incense and dark flowers!)

Unfortunately Host of Air is LE and no longer available but you might have luck in the forum sales or on the BPAL Facebook! I should have mentioned it, sorry! But you should be able to get Coraline and Fairy Wine from the GC catalog! I forgot that Edith is now out of stock as well but lots of people are still gaga over the Crimson Peak scents so you might be able to find her floating around in the sales as well!

Definitely gonna recommend Coraline Jones: “No,” said Coraline. “I don't want to do those things. I want to explore.” Dry grass, clean skin, and a little bit of mossy berry. Squirting Cucumber: Yikes! A spurt of wet, grassy greenness. Hopeless romantic in love that gets vengeful? How about Edith Cushing: Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind: pearlescent vanilla musk with white sandalwood, grey amber, white patchouli, ambrette seed, and oudh. Fairy Wine: An ethereal vintage, steeped with dandelion, honey, and red currants. Host of Air: Peat and rolling grass-covered hills, with wine-dappled heather, white clover, cloudberry, juniper berry, bluebell, dandelion, and cross-leaved heath. Depending on how stereotypically hippie you are, you can't get much more hipppie than Ask the Nearest Hippie haha!: patchouli, hemp, smoky vanilla bean, and cannabis accord.

Hidden Pearls is strongly iris and orris. Orris to me smells like a less in your face violet. There's a good smack of coconut and vanilla here as well. This is sweet, verging on tropical in a lush wet florals and coconut sort of way. I like it a lot at the get-go but find it starts to try to turn to your average cake-scented plastic doll after about half an hour. Really a shame as it's a great scent! Would still recommend to those of you without my pesky skin chemistry.

This is a very nice powdery candied violet with a slightly woody undertone. I would heartily recommend it to fans of sugary florals, especially sugary violets. I don't personally feel the need to purchase a full size but I'm going to wear the heck out of this decant!

Here comes The Bride and she's BEAUTIFUL. This is a lovely ethereal honey musk interwoven with a soft fluffy cloud of faded vanilla. The magnolia settles just below these two scents, adding just the right amount of texture and sweetness to bolster the scent without overtaking it. Warm, smooth, gently sweet, and lightly musky. I adore this scent. It's definitely not overbearing, but it does persist for about 3-4 hours after application on my skin, especially if applied to my throat/neck. Regardless, I don't mind reapplying so that I can be constantly engulfed.

Sea of glass and white rabbit sound lovely! I was intimidated by sea of glass' abstract description on the bpal site, but clean aquatics are always nice. I like food sweet scents!! Most florals tend to go rancid on me The BPAL catalog is very intimidating, even for me and I've been buying BPAL for years haha! More recent scents have come with better and clearer descriptions on their notes, I've found. If you're unsure it's definitely worth doing a search in the forum's Review section as generally many people with talented noses can pick out which key scent notes are likely involved. I've found it easiest to do a Google search rather than a forum search by typing in the name of the scent and then just "BPAL." The reviews for the scent are generally the first or second result! Although admittedly for Sea of Glass no one seems to really agree on anything other than it's an aquatic with potentially fruit and some sort of bright light floral haha. I find florals can give me headaches but Sea of Glass is something special in my personal opinion. Your milage may vary, of course! Lizzie has given you a much more comprehensive list of foody scents than I could. Another vote for Eldritch Drunken Constellations. It is such a beautiful smooth bright yet almost creamy scent. I was lucky enough to score it from one of TTP's decant clean outs on ebay and I am so glad I did. Has anyone tried the retail only Peacocks from Pretty Indulgent? It looks to have ambergris and I have been eying it for a while.

For sweet and clean I would recommend: Sea of Glass--Clean clear aquatic floral White Rabbit--Clean linens, milk, honey Shanghai--Green tea and light floral Agree on Alice which is milk, honey, spicy floral and Dorian which is warm sweet vanilla tea and citrus.
