    The Queen of Hearts

in the imo: Sou and sharp with a dollop of lily- reminds me of some kind of soap from my childhood Wet: I keep smelling the lily but... wait. Is that cherry?? Oh no. Cherry and lily are doing battle for supremecy. Dry: Lily won. Now there's a plastic after-smell to this scent. Not for me.

    The Blasphemare Reliquary

I don't have the slightest idea what most of the ingredients in this fragrance even are, so I can't talk about what notes I can detect. What I can say is that this reminds me of something solemn and revered. Church incense comes to mind as a possibility of what it feels like. When it dries down, it turns a bit sweeter but still maintains that serious and pure aura.

    Marcilla

In the imp: Floral Wet: Still quite flowery, but there's something foody in the background that I do NOT like. Dry: Foody smell is gone. There's a bit of bergamot but mostly I pick up beeswax. No lilac. No lily. Just wax. All righty.

The Maltese Cross of Sanctus Germanus

No fair. Everyone gets blood orange from this. All I smell is amber. It's OK but it does not stand out.

    Ashlultum

Oh, oh, oh! Beauty in a bottle!! This starts out with musk and tobacco as the strongest notes. It dries to the most perfect lilac I have ever experienced. It is sweet without being cloying. One of my new favorites. Indeed.

    Parthenope

Starts out earthy- I pick up orris and musk and moss. Turns powdery. Soft with a hint of jasmine. Not bad. Not incredible, though, either. At least not on me.

    Muse

I have one thing to say about Muse. THIS IS THE JASMINE SHOW!!!! This is the sweetest and strongest jasmine scent I have ever tried. I can taste it. There is a hint of citrus in the background but jasmine is hamming it up so much that nothing else can really even begin to make an impression. Don't get me wrong. I LOVE jasmine... but damn. This is NOT to be slathered.

    The Grand Inquisitor's Heretic's Fork

This is all smoke, blood and vetiver. This scent is cunning and dangerous... for those Crow moods.

    Gwyneth

This is rose from start to finish. That is all.

    The Torture Queen

I normally love gardenia. I like ambergris. I am a fan of vanilla and musk. So, by all accounts, I should like this scent. But I don't. It's OK wet but when it dries down, SOMETHING sharp and brassy keeps getting in the way. Whatever it is, it is the "bugspray" sharpness that I find in a lot of commercial perfumes. Thank God I didn't slather. Torture Queen is torturing me.

    Pumpkin III (2008)

What a lovely combination. You might not think that pumpkin, mint and citrus would blend to create something fabulous... but you'd be wrong. In the imp: I definitely smell the pumpkin... the mint peeks through as well. Wet: More mint now and here comes the citrus! I smell lemon and a touch of lime. Dry: The scent settles into a lovely combination of tangy citrus, cool mint and clean parsley. What pumpkin is left stays in the background now. This was a kind and gracious gift from an anonymous source... thank you!!

    Pumpkin IV (2007)

In the bottle and wet: Buttery pumpkin with a hint of something herbal in the background. Dry: The butter fades and I am left with what fall smells like: pumpkin, wonderful sage and sweetgrass. I like this a lot.

    The Stormhold

In the imp and wet: ozone and wet something or other. Dry: Rain scented soap. Not horrible but not something I would reach for.

    Purple Phoenix

Purple Phoenix is just gorgeous. It smells purple. I get grape and plum and purple flowers. It lasts for days and is one of my favorites now.

    Schwarzer Mond

Schwarzer Mond '06 In the bottle: Gorgeous amber and musk. This is a deep resinous scent that gets up into my sinuses and does not budge. Wet: Something a bit soapy and band-aid plastic-y is present. The longer it sits, the more like band-aid it smells. Dry: Band-aids and plastic, sprinkled with spice. Bleccch.

    Gomorrah

In the imp: Gomorrah is spicy figs Wet: A hint of something sharp and herbal comes out Dry: Soft spice and fruit Verdict? Does not suck-- I like it

    Pumpkin I (2007)

In the imp: Butter and pumpkin Wet: Still very buttery but now with a hint of grape Dry: Light floral with a hint of play doh.

    Wanda

I have applied Wanda liberally to my wrists and I now smell like I dumped a bottle of red wine over my own head. There's a little bit of leather in the background and what I assume is musk. Not terribly wonderful on me.

    Sir Hugh Ockram's Winding Sheet

I wasn't too sure about this one and I am certainly glad I tried it anyway... because I like it muchly. It starts out almost a sickly sweet and dries to a soft sandalwood, which I adore. The linen smells old and dusty but is lovely. Very nice.

    Wensleydale

Wensleydale is a clean scent. Very pleasant but not remarkable. Freshly laundered cotton sheets, flapping in the breeze, is what this scent evokes for me.

    Pumpkin V (2007)

Oh, DAMN. This is so nice. If I rolled about in pumpkin pie filling, this is exactly what I would smell like. Sweet and spicy and gorgeous.

    Sloth

Alicia_Stardust hit this one on the head. Sloth is very masculine. Spicy and heavy.

    The Norns' Farmhouse

In the imp: I thought this was nothing but freshly mown lawn when it starts to sprinkle and the grass gets stuck to your shoes. Then reading the other reviews, I see bell pepper mentioned. Might have some of that, yes it might. Wet: Serious grass but with something very sweet behind it. Dry: The grass is definitely gone. The sweet is tempered by something woody/herbal. Interesting, but not something I smell myself wearing very often. A decant is sufficient.

    Pepper

Whoa! Spicy spice!! I have a noseful of ginger and pepper with a hint of cardamom in there for good measure. When it dries, gardenia comes to the fore. This is definitely a powerful scent. Good thing I like it. Muchly.

    The Dodo

I get mostly a sweet musk and sandalwood combination from this while it's wet. After it dries, a hint of spice comes through. It definitely reminds me of something from my childhood, some sort of forgotten perfume. Does NOT last very long.
