In the imp, it has quite a bite- very sharp. Might that be the wine note? On application, I get sandalwood and ambergris, primarily. Dry, no changes. Sandalwood and ambergris. I think this will be lovely for the fall.
-
Carnation and sandalwood FTW. I can't describe this blend beyond this except that it is mildly powdery but gorgeous. I have a feeling that amber is contributing to the gorgeosity but I can't specifically pinpoint it. The longer it stays on, the more powdery it turns. I would LOVE to have a dusting powder that smelled like this. YUM.

Ick. On application, I smell like I have been dunked in a vat of molasses. Dry, the fragrance goes straight to patchouli. Nothing else. A little vanilla might have softened this up but it got off the bus before the Lawn Gnome arrived at my door.

Dragon's blood + amber = sweet love The only problem with this is that I need to reduce the application by about half. It is very powerful and is so strong, it is making me slightly woozy. I think a bottle is in order and it'll probably last the rest of my natural life.

Green? No. Herbs? No. Leather? Maybe. I don't know. What I detect is ambergris and incense. The scent starts out warm and becomes more and more sultry. Four hours later it is still as strong as when I applied it.

Ah, yes... the smell of bell pepper. On me? I think not.
-
Oh, wow. Super-ripe fruit, full to bursting with sugar. I see where some get the bubblegum description, but on me, it has a bit of a sharp tang, almost but not quite sour. After it dries, it turns bright and sweetly clean. LOVE.

Mmmm. Fruit. Honey. Lots of honey. On drydown, a bit of sandalwood pokes its head in. The combination is lovely.
-
Pretty! Wasn't sure what to expect with the combination but it dries down to a sultry and sexy fragrance.

If, on an average day, you asked me what ozone smelled like, I'd say "Dunno." Today, if you ask, I will thrust my imp (thanks again to the wonderful Ahania!!) under your nose and tell you to breathe deeply. I didn't know that I knew but now I know that I knew! On drydown, the ozone is still present, but the scent of well worn leather is right up there too. There's a little bit of an incense-ish note too (is that the myrrh? I don't have the slightest idea what the other notes are, much less what they smell like). The overall effect is lovely. I can easily see this being worn by a man, but I wouldn't think twice about wearing it myself.

CXXVI Apple. This blend has a strong apple note. Yum. -
This is a weird chemical combo while wet. After it dries, it turns into a combo of Bit-o-Honey candy (Stellans, you nailed this one) and lilac. When I take a whiff, I get the candy and then the flower. I am interested in seeing how this ages and which scent will preside. ETA: 10/23/09... a honeyed and resined lilac wins the election--- I LOVE this.

XI Wet, this blend is sharp vetiver with a plank of wood smacking me in the nose. On application, it stays sharp and the wood gets smackier. Ow? Fortunately, this dries down to a resin-y incense. The vetiver is still there but happliy it is now i nthe background. This imp has a home for life. -

CXXIII Dorian and Tobacco in a bake shop. Sweet. -
I thought I would like this. Unfortunately, while wet it just smells like rose soap. On drydown, it smells like old rose soap. If I take a very deep breath with my nose pressed to my wrist, I detect the faintest bit of jasmine. *sigh*

This was a frimp from the delightful scarletgenesis... thank you!! I wanted to try this because it contains 2 of my favorite scents- gardenia and jasmine. I'm still waiting for them to show their faces. Highwayman is industrial strength vetiver and leather. On drydown, it's losing some of the smokiness and picking up a bit of sweetness, but it's not the strong heady white floral fragrance I was hoping for. I do find that the jasmine and gardenia are getting a bit stronger as the vetiver continues to fade. I need to try this again...

I really was not certain at all that I would like this since I have decided that pumpkin and I are not friends. But Jack is more than just pulp and shell. He's wonderful spice. I am amping the clove and nutmeg, which is just fine for me. I smell edible. Yum.

This is a fun scent... very sweet and fruity and all candy-like. It calms down a bit for me on drydown and reminds me of the burnt sugar of a good creme brulee.
-
I looked at the description of this fragrance and thought that I would probably leave it on my wrist for 4.5 minutes before I washed it off. WRONG. If I thought it would never fade, I wouldn't wash my arm again. EVER. It starts out with a tartness. I could have sworn I smelled apple but I think that it is the dandelion greenery. I wouldn't know what hops or hemps smell like but if they are what makes this scent turn sweet, then I want them in everything I wear from this moment forward. The tobacco is what I smell at the very end here- and it reminds me of cherry pipe tobacco. Whatever. I really like this fragrance.

Accck! This started out all bright florals and freshness and turned to the soap from hell. It is making my sinuses block, my nose wants to run for the hills and somewhere in my head is one hell of a sneeze waiting to be released.

Ooooh, this is neat! It starts out reminding me of these wafers from the 60s called Fizzys that you dropped into water and Voila! you had pseudo-carbonated drink. When ti dries, the juniper comes out strong. The combination of the fizz and evergreen is just... well... NEAT. I like this a lot. -
Verrrrrrrry interesting fragrance, this. It starts out as dirt. I dabbed some on, sniffed and thought "great. I smell like I've been digging in the garden." I figured I'd wash it off when I got to work. Fortunately, I got busy and forgot about it for a few hours. When I sniffed my arm after several hours had passed, it had turned to sweet floral. I am not crazy about its start, but I certainly am happy with what I ended up with.

I think Black Opal is going up there in the top 5. It reminds me of Antique Lace (which is up there too) but deeply musky. It is warm and sexy and simply gorgeous. I put some on at 6 this morning and after 10pm, I can STILL detect the vanilla musk. Super thanks to Seismogenic for the gift of this imp!!
