In bottle: Wow, they aren’t kidding. Dry dirt, moldering fabric, nitre…. It’s intense. Wet: The mildewy, moldering smell is… off putting. It’s maybe a little too realistic. Dry: Oddly attractive, mostly earth with something organic that is strangely sexy.

In bottle: The vetiver adds an intriguing smokiness to the blood dominent scent. The patchouli/cinnamon combination is a clever one, adding a spicey edge to the blood tinged, smokey decay. It suits it concept well. I’m not skin testing due to my history with vetiver, but I can imagine this smelling feirce on the right person.

The scent of tea - BPAL's tea note, BPAL blends like your favorite tea

I agree on the embalming fluid being light and green rather than sweet, and Kumiho is an excellent back up idea. -
Sweet scents, sugar notes & things that smell like candy

Sounds like the most recent 13. -
This phrased in a strangely hetero sexist manner, but I'll suggest Vicomte de Valmonte as something that creates insanely sexy pheromones. They seem to work on women more strongly than men, but they work on androphilic men too. It's a generally masculine scent, but it works for some lesbians too.

In bottle: Beautiful rich strawberry scent, with a touch of sugar. It really does smell like eating a bowl of strawberries on my grandmother’s lawn in early Summer. Wet: Less verisimilitude, but still very strawberry. The grass comes out more. Dry: Ah. There’s the dandelion in there with the others. It still stays sugared fresh strawberry dominant. Strawberry is hit or miss for me, and this is the strongest hit yet. It is genuinely lovely, though rather feminine.

In bottle: OMG whiskey and rum. Like really, really whiskey and rum. I can detect the marshmallow under there and something weirdly cherry, no clue what that’s from and a touch of liquorice. Wow, that’s boozey. Not nice boozey. Scary drunk off his ass guy cornering you in the bar and breathing serious alcohol breath on you boozey. Wet: The booze does calm a little on the skin, but is still scary clown strong. I’m getting more candy and greasepaint now. It is generally less alarming, but I’m not sure it’s going to work. Dry; surprisingly innocuous in a candy sort of way. Who knew.

In bottle: They aren’t kidding about the apple blossom. It’s flowers mostly. Wet: more nuanced. Sandalwood under flowers with the lily dominant. I’m not that impressed, but it’s not terrible or anything, though it does unnerve cats. Dry: mediocre floral.
-
In bottle: Rose mostly. So much rose. I do think I can catch a hint of cinnamon. I see no point in skin testing this as it wouldn’t go well.

Mostly chocolate, with something dusty underneath and caramel mostly.

In Bottle: The bay rum vanilla combo is lovely. The herbal elements work well and add interest. I’m not having the trouble I usually do with high john the conqueror, which is a pleasant surprise. The whole thing is lighter than I expected, but still androgynously sexy. Wet: yum. The rum/bourbon vanilla is really working well with the other elements, while still staying dominant. I’m now really sorry I didn’t buy this.new. It’s a more viscously herbal cousin to Mad Sweeny. Dry: Fades fast, innofensive vanilla mostly.

BAH! 2008 (LE, Goblins of Yuletide Storytime Inquisition: Bah Humbug) In bottle: Dark chocolate espresso beans with a shot of whiskey. O.o Wet: It really does smell like fresh roasted beans. The chocolate is less pronounced on the skin, but oh boy does the whiskey come out. I didn’t like MU, which smells like coffee breath to me, but Bah is compelling on my skin; sweet, but not too sweet, bracing and a touch dissolute. I used to think I didn’t like coffee colognes, but I think this may just have changed my mind. I still likely wouldn’t buy one as I think this would be too strong for daily wear, but I’m not at all sorry I traded for this. The whiskey/espresso combo really does work beautifully. Dry: OMG. Chocolate and whiskey with the espresso degrading to something between coconut and skin musk. Yum!

In bottle: Yep, that’s chocolate with buttercream underneath. Wet: chocolate is dominant, but the sweet creamy center really works with this. The whole thing blends insanely well with my natural musk, making it rather sexier than one would expect. Dry: mostly buttercream with a hint of chocolate. My skin loves this, which is sad as I only have a partial imp.

In bottle: Shoe polish, mullien, and myrrh. Wet: Separators into mullien myrrh vs vetiver and musk at which point they have a sharks vs. jets style knife fight on my skin. Dry: the aftermath of burned hair and insulation.

In bottle: It smells sweet and spicy. It’s a much more decadent cousin to Tombstone. It’s mostly cedar and tobacco, with something strange, yet exciting, I’m guessing is tumble weed. Wet: I’m surprised there is no sarsaparilla here. It also reminds me rather of spice cookies. I love the tobacco/cedar combo. It’s delicious. Dry: Mostly cedar, but still lovely.

In bottle: Wow! It really does smell like vegetable garden. The bruised tomato leaves, the snapped squash vines, the damp, fresh turned Earth. I’ve never smelled anything in a bottle remotely like this. Wet: On skin, it’s sweeter, with more herb garden elements mingling with the three dominant elements. Garden in the sun, glorious. I’m in love. It shifts, revealing different nuances as it wears. Dry: delicate, yet still lovely. I am suspecting a sandalwood component here.

DLXXIII In bottle: Whoa…. This is strange and fascinating and hard to pin down. I think it’s raspberry. I’m also guessing extra musk and patchouli. Possibly tea. It’s rich and sweet and summery. The Snake oil is very fresh, but mostly overwhelmed by the fruit. Wet: I just found the snake oil! I thought this wouldn’t work in the bottle, but the berry is doing a happy, happy thing with the dragon’s blood and vanilla. Is that Opium? It’s way more androgynous on my skin. It’s also crazy sniffable. Dry: It’s made of win, really. Rich, fruity, Summery, sexy. It’s rather more ripe womanly, than I would pick for myself but it’s so insanely good I have to keep it.
-
DCXXI In bottle: Very sweet red fruit with incense. It’s weirdly familiar. It’s got a berry thing going on. It’s nothing I’d normally pick, but utterly fascinating I’m guessing sandalwood and/or patchouli on the insense end. I want to eat this it’s so richly red ansd summery. Wet: The fruit element has something in common with marshmallow Poof, I think. It’s strongly cherry on my skin which eats up most of the insense, alas, alas. The spicey edge holds though. Curses Cherry, my nemesis! After a while, I can pick out some strawberry too and the sandalwood comes back out. It’s heartbreaking as I really could almost wear it. Dry: Mostly strawberry. So close, so close. Previously reviewed by LittleGreyKitten.

In bottle: I’m guessing dragon’s blood and anise. Wet: Oh! That’s different. Nix the anise. It’s doing something spicy and floral/jasmine with something interesting and dry underneath. Dry: Dragon’s blood with an herbal edge.

In bottle: Almond and fig, mostly, with the other notes swirling around underneath. This is very pleasing indeed, richer than Eden and more foody, but along the same lines. I like the way the spices blend with the almond particularly. Wet: Mmmm… Almond fig goodness. The incense and florals come out more here. The patchouli is understated and working and playing well with others. It’s definitely a floral from about five minutes in one, but a delightful one with shimmering depths and heady heights.Dry: faes very fast to a hint of fig and saffron/cinnimon.
-
In bottle: This is pretty much as described. The three notes are distinct in the bottle. The rose is soft enough to let the other two elements take the lead. I’m not sure jazmine and myrrh are a good pairing. Wet: Typical rose/jazmine blend with a hint of myrrh. The myrrh does work better on skin, I think because when warmed the whole blend smoothes out. Dry: Jazmine
-
In bottle: Rose, rose, rose, over some lilies and narcissus. Boring. Wet: I can smell the other flowers better over the rose. It does smell rather like Mother’s garden in early Spring, and I do like it better now that the rose is letting the other poor flowers breath a little. Dry: Ah, there’s the opium in amongst the flowers.
-
In bottle: Ah, oleander and magnolia. This is a lovely and unusual floral blend I do like the spicey edge to the well blended elements. I know my skin chemistry will unbalance it, but in the bottle it is stunning. Wet: flower chewing gum. Good flower chewing gum. Pleasant spiciness. Dry: Tang.
-
In bottle: It smells weirdly dirty. I think it’s coconut husks mating with patchouli. They are not kidding with the benzoin. Wet: That dirty dry husk smell really comes out. Give it time, and one does get unsweetened coconut. This is not something I’d pick for myself, but it is genuinely interesting. Honestly, the husk scent is really growing on me as my skin warms and deepens the effect. Dry: Almost gone. Very faint soft husks.

This would explain why i can't stand the mall. All that chremical stick from cheap perfume/cologne.
