After about five minutes, Kubla Khan smells like a lighter throw version of Green Tree Viper on my skin. Perhaps it's the icy spices.

Kumiho's fresh ginger cousin.

It smells like fresh grated ginger, ever so slightly softened with something creamy. When comparing this to Kumiho, it is a stronger scent on me-- and Kumiho makes this smell like ginger ale. But really, this is just gingery ginger. I wonder if wearing this would have the same effect on car sickness as ginger chews?

Sudha Segara is a bright, clean, gingery unisex scent to beat the summer heat(and possibly carsickness). Very nice.

Imp: rose and sandalwood

Wet: rose and something fizzy; slightly powdery. Is that jasmine?

Dry: jasmine and rose, but in a wearable way-- with just a hint of sandalwood in the background.

This is a little too regal for me. Nonetheless, Obsidian Widow is a lovely scent.

Enchanted Wood Florist starts off as a really sharp, perfumey floral-- slightly green, but not in a real things way. As it dries, it becomes softer, and I swear there's some kind of bubblegum/tropical hard candy scent underneath.

Very much later-- around eight hours-- it's gone extremely faint, but if I huff my wrists, I smell a soft musk very reminiscent of the Girl. It has a slightly warmer feel than the Girl.

This has a lot of staying power on me. Throw for the better part of wear is medium. I find it very nice, leaning towards a more traditional perfume scent.

My only qualm is the sharpness at the outset. I'm hoping that calms down a bit with aging, since this bottle is only a month old.

In the bottle and on wet, for me, this is OAKMOSS honey. A very sweet honey, tinged with the bitterish sap smell of oakmoss. Interesting.

Once it dries, I still huff oakmoss on my skin, but the throw is straight, light golden, sparkling honey in the summer. It reminds me of the honey in Honey Moon or Hetairae. The throw is pretty strong(I amp honey, though), but not in any way offensive or cloying. I think I like Honey Moon better, because the thyme scent in that just seems to complement the honey more, but I'm looking forward to see how Ronin ages.

So, basically, if you were out in the summer, under a mighty oak where bees had built a hive, looking up and getting drizzled in sunwarmed honey.

If you love honey, this is definitely something to give a shot. It's not really gender particular, and, I would say, subtly sexy.

Sexy, clove incense floral that dries down to subtle, incense floral. Beautiful.

Imp: sticky, wet candycane; sweet.minty goodness

Wet: sweeter,creamier mint; you can feel it on the skin-- not exactly colling but it definitely has a presence. almost a hint of sweet chocolate.

Dry: creamy, delicious mint candycane with a hint of chocolate.

This is so dead on. Someone earlier mentioned After-Eights. I agree. Maybe that's where I'm getting the chocolate; a nice sensory memory. Definitely mint candy as opposed to mint plant, or medicinal mint salves. Lick It Again is what I was hoping Lick It Like You Mean It would be. It took a long time for the vanilla in this to decide it hated me, and that made me happy. So, as long as I reply frequently, this is the ultimate candycane scent. It will be worn in December, oh yes.

Scent stays very close to the skin, and is sweet and delicious. Yea!

Imp: woodsy neroli, and something floral

wet: spicy(as in spices, not heat) herbal, slightly sweet(smells good)

dry:tangy perfume with clean undertones, slight powderiness from the honey and amber. Nice.

I find Anactoria has a long lasting time, and a medium throw. The scent is very complex, like high-end perfume, but smells more natural. After about an hour, the amber has taken over, and--unfortunately-- amber likes to mimic baby powder on my skin.

Imp: nuts and watermelon? some kind of fruit

Wet: fruity nuts

Dry: fruit; maybe berries. Fades out quickly. much later it gets a little woody and smells of the burnt candle vanilla that my skin chemistry just does not love.

This went through some interesting scent changes, but, due to the vanilla finish, I just don't see myself wearing it. I will find it a better home.

Imp: cassia, jasmine, various hot spices

Wet:sweet, dry, smells like spices, and tingles my nose.

Dry: spices have mellowed a little, allowing a hint of citrus and barely there floral, finishing up with tea.

Apparently, my caravan on the Silk Road is heading East. This is very nice, both exotic and familiar in turns, and I really enjoyed the finish of spiced tea.

Imp:slightly fruity floral perfume; rose

Wet:rose and something else that is slightly sharp

Dry:scented handsoap. I think get a little bit of violet in the throw, kind of sweet and warm

Imp: women's perfume and fruity bubblegum

Wet: bubblegum and talcum; very soft

Dry: sweet, light perfume-- kind of a similar note to Fae-- white musk, maybe? Much later it has most faded, but if I put my nose to my wrist, it seems as though the scent has gotten warmer, and added soft spiciness.

Imp: jasmine, and either violet or lily.

Wet: More like ylang-ylang than regular jasmine; muted-- as though someone took the highs and lows out of the scent.

Dry: Really light ylang-ylang.

Not for me, but definitely try if you are a floral or jasmine fan.

Imp: Citrusy floral; round; a late spring/early summer garden filled with sunshine; light sweetness.

Wet: Flowering bulbs; hysacinth, lily, maybe freesia. Feels cool on the skin. So nice.

Dry:flowering bulbs, slightly like a GC Flower Moon '05; or the next in succession after Flower Moon, if I were making a seasonal line-up.

I was leery of the jasmine/honeysuckle combo, which migrained me to death in New Orleans. However, neither of these notes were present and this blend is beautiful; very soft and feminine.

Imp: Smells like a Christmas shop; cinnamon and other warm spices over heady florals and bath product.

Wet: I mainly smell cinnamon, and perhaps allspice.

Dry: Spices with something creamy underneath, that smells vaguely of coconut.

I'm so glad I tested this before the Holidays really kick in. This will be a wonderful winter scent.

I did not really get any of the listed notes the way they usually smell on me. This one was very strange, and something in it is unpleasantly similar to what happened in Chant d'Automne.

Imp: smokey wood, and citrus

Wet: Beef Jerky?! yep, teriyaki beef jerky...

Dry: I'm being tormented by sticky smoked wood reminiscent of bacos/beef jerky. So weird.

I don't know what went wrong here, but I think this is the third scent I've had go trail ration on me, so it's time to check notes to see if there is any correlation. Meanwhile, I while try to find this a more loving home. Sadly, I'm now craving beef jerky...

Imp: light wood(as in pine floorboards outside the general store), and root beer(definitely sassafras)

Wet: root beer on a hot day; fizzy and creamy

Dry: creamy sawdust

This scent is cool! They could use it as ambience at some ghost town, like Calico or Oatman.

Imp: jasmine, but not overwhelming

Wet: jasmine, or is that stephanotis?

Dry: light jasmine perfume

This is a nice jasmine scent. I was happy that the jasmine wasn't very aggressive. I didn't pick up any of the other notes.

Imp: sweet, resinous, honey spice

Wet: HONEY, and something deliciously herbal-- I want to say laurel, with a hint of mead or wine.

Dry:spiced honey; not sweet--more herbal

This is sexy and sophisticated. It's lightly foody without being overly sweet. I find this slightly similar to Honey Moon.

Imp: spicy, warm and woodsy, barely green

Wet: lush green spice

Dry: more high, dry, and powdery; so familiar.

This smells Irish, I'm not sure why; like warm rolling, green hills maybe. Very nice. Would probably be even better as a men's scent.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. Akuma is my favorite GC scent. I'm on my second bottle. I swear internet gremlins steal my posts. Anyways...

(current)Bottle: Strong neroli with a hint of orange and raspberry sweetness underneath.

On: raspberry and orange with a hint of neroli.

Dry: the most fabulous sweet tarts EVER.

The first imp of this I ever tried smelled of chocolate mice. It's a specific candy that you get at Sinter Klaas; foil wrapped, chocolate covered, citrus fondant, and the foil is decorated as mice and frogs in early 20th century swimsuits. This candy is delicious.

My first bottle was more candy and creamy and featured a lot more orange blossom and raspberry.

Interesting body chemistry reference: I asked two friends to try it at the same time as I did one day. I amped candied neroli, the first friend was almost straight raspberry, and the second friend was a light citrus. I think the subtle variations in this scent might be best appreciated by testing with friends.

I love Akuma. This is my go-to work scent, or when I need a happy boost, or just in general. I know smelling of candy isn't for everyone, but I haven't a single bad thing to say about this scent.

Imp: fruity floral

Wet: Wet floral; lush, with hints of something sharp and green. Watermelon candy(?) and a hint of soil.

Dry: really nice ladies' perfume and dirt(or is that pepper?).

This scent is summery and humid; very nice, and it has an interesting morph.

Imp: lemon, something creamy and hard candy-like

Wet: Creamy lemon drops; light and sweet

Dry: the lemon has stepped back slightly, and something floral(rose, maybe?) has stepped forward, for a more "perfumey" feel. It smells kind of like a combo with "O"

This has a breezy, summery feel. The colors are bright. I think of Italy; stunning ocean views from the patio and Limoncello. Completely different, yet possibly relatives with June Gloom and some of the CTVv2 citrus "O" variants.

I would like to preface this with the admission that I tried an imp of this a long time ago, when I first began with BPAL. At that time, it smelled as though Cinnabon had crawled inside me and begun oozing from my skin.

Lo and behold, several months ago I was frimped an imp of this with an order. It was a completely different experience, as follows:

Imp: caramel, sugar; sweet and syrupy, like a macchiato.

Wet: caramel, coffee; less sweet than the imp

Dry: creamy, caramel-vanilla latte

This smells delicious, and in no way overwhelming; a testament to giving scents a second chance.

Imp: soapy, spicy dragon's blood

Wet: pink cherry hand soap

Dry: pink hand soap

I'm not sure what happened here.
