I don’t have a tart burner (yet) but I’d love scented tarts! Would you like a bag of dried Honeycrisp apples? I'd love some honeycrisp apples!! I love how all those parts move with steam and there's not a sound. It's so relaxing to watch gears move. Love the science and love the art! If you were to receive a knitted item (such as a scarf, hat, etc), what colors would you like? And do you have any sensitivies/allergies to any materials? I would LOVE a knitted thingerbobber witch!! Social networking: I'm on Facebook and Twitter, but I'm hardly active. You can find me by my first and last name. There's a couple other gals with my name too, but I am the only one in Tustin California Are you someone who'd rather have lots of small testers of different things on your wishlist, or would you rather have one or two "big" things? It doesn't matter to me!! How about tshirt/bottoms sizes? I'm a M/L in tops and bottoms. I have tons of pj's already, but if my Witch has something special in mind, I wouldn't mind a new addition. I generally like t-shirts rather than babydoll shirts. Are you into Austen's books? I haven't read any Jane Austen, but I would love to! Do you read Tarot cards? If not, would you be interested? Specifically because the mintyness gives my lips a pinkish bee stung look.
  3. Hollywood Babylon is made of musk and sex. If you can get your hands on it, Midnight Kiss is also a killer.

    Amaterasu v3

Mmmmmmm!! This is Inez's brighter sister!! It's freaking GORGEOUS and I am in love. Amber musk, vanilla, and a sexy incense note. There's not much else I can say other than HOLY SHIT I SMELL LIKE AMBER VANILLA SEX! Verdict? ::climax:: edit to edit

    PS: Iron Parasol v1

I actually really really like this one. I'm not usually a floral/fruity type of gal, but the tart tang of the slightly metallic background make this a damn sexy and unique scent. It has a girly steampunk feel all around. The top layer being a fruity feminine, and the slight tang in the background acting as iron and grace. If I close my eyes, I picture a Victorian gel with scented gloves running to catch a train as it starts to chug away from the platform. Slightly floral, slightly fruity, and a soft iron background. As it dries down, I think that I might be picking up a slightly cottony or vanilla linen note...? Ok and it's morphing again... am I sensing grapefruit? The throw is light, but not too light on my arm. It's dry now but it's still pretty strong when sniffed up close. I think that I've found my summer scent! verdict? What a light skirt! ::turns up nose at the trollop::

    Teatime in Roswell

At First, I'm picking up on yummy cake. It's delicious for sure. I'm usually not so much of a foodie person, but lately I've noticed that foodies are starting to appeal to me. I'm actually quite happy with this latest development. But saddness... the cake fades into the background and I'm left with tea and cucumbers. It's not bad, and it's actually a pretty good trick! I love morphers, but I was hoping that the cake would want to stick around and play with the tea and cucumber. Hopefully as this ages, some of the notes will sweeten up so that way we can at least have some sweet tea with cucumber sandwiches. I would be happy with that Verdict: One lump or two?

Apples?? Finding the right apple scent

Don't forget Poisoned apple in Bewitching Brews! That's a goodie too. You might like Brisingamen in Ars Amatoria. A glittering mantle of rich golden notes: five ambers, soft myrtle and apple blossom, myrtle, and carnation. To my sniffer, apple blossom is very similar to the scent of the fruit as well.
  8. Hmmm.. when I first tried this out, I didn't like it too much in the bottle, so I put it off to the side and thought that I might swap it off to someone. Today, while going throw my box of bottles I sniffed it again, and thought to try a little on. Once applied and it's wet, I smell something sweet and sugary (obviously the honey) but then when the "aftertaste" of the smell hits, it's woodsy for sure. It isn't unpleasant, and honestly it's unlike anything I've sniffed by the lab before. The honey cuts into that balsamy note. It isn't the same balsam as U at all. This is more woodsy and bbq-esque. That might be the bark note too. It kind of reminds me of St. Johns eve in a way? Maybe? Dry now, and the balsam has really calmed down. Left behind, I pick up a slightly honeyed dark and woody scent. The wood isn't dry though, which make this preferable to me than a drier woody scent. Very nice. I'm curious as to how this will age. I hope the honey note pops a little more.

    Gun Moll

On first application, an amber laden jasmine note swirls around a zesty and spicy note. As others have noted, that initial wet phase is a little bit perfumy, but as it dries down the jasmine starts to relax. It starts to warm up and become slightly spicy. Dry now, it's beautiful it's slighty spicy, with a kick of amber. Once this ages, and the amber thickens up I bet this'll be beautiful! Throw is medium light Verdict? Lets play shoot em up!

    The Anti-Saloon League

Holy cow I'm blown away!! Sarsaparilla usually turns to root beer, but this is more of a cream soda on me. It's creamy, and sweet. I'm really surprised too, because foodies tend to be no no's, but this is a foody that I LOVE! I hope that the creamy vanilla note becomes more prominent as it ages. It doesn't morph like crazy, but as it dries, the vanilla note becomes more prominent (with sweet sarsaparilla mingling in the background) throw is medium Verdict? mmmm root beer float

    Bathtub Gin

Ooo! I Like this!! I wasn't sure about the juniper (and gin itself gives me the heebee jeebees) but I thought to give it a chance. I am so glad that I did. This is spicy and sweet with nutmeg on top (not too bright and spicy though) with a bit of juniper in the background. Juniper itself is a beautiful note. It doesn't smell boozy at all. As it dries down, the nutmeg blends further into the juniper note, making it an afterthought. When I huff my arm, it's juuuuuuniper....and then nutmeg. The throw is a light medium I like it a lot! Verdict? Better than a Tom Collins

    Sky City (After)

I actually like this! It sounded like it could be a total hit, or even an epic fail, but this is actually really good. Once applied, I can smell creosote and then some dirt and a hit of something sweet in the background. The sweetness is probably the dried blood note, but to my nose, it's a little reminiscent of Queen of Clubs with that dirt and sweet red note. As it dries down, there's a bit of spice popping through, like cloves? Once it's dry, the sweet note calms down, and the creosote fades to the background. The clove and dirt note are the most prominent once dry. I bet that this is going to calm down and become beautiful as it ages. Throw is decent (a strong medium) Verdict? Post apocalyptic yum!

    Saint Foutin de Varailles

This is by far one of my favorites of all time. Easily on my personal top ten. I usually amp rose notes, and frankincense can turn sour on me. Also wine notes tend to go a little bit wonky. But put together, each note cancels out each other and turn into the most beautiful scent. Sweet beeswax with a touch of rosey wine, and then a dash of resin to warm it up. Its bliss! I require back ups.

    Ysabel

My bottle is starting to become properly aged Ysabel starts off dark and incensy, but as she dries down the carnations pop through like crazy. They're those buttery warm carnations. Either that, or that "smoothness" is the velvet musk. The clove is spicing things up, and the rose isn't amping to high hell (like roses are supposed to do on my skin) The throw is pretty high and strong. I put just a dab on my arm and I've been getting wafts of it for an hour now. Just a little dab!! Ysabel has strength! If you are a fan of Velvet Bandito, pick this one up. It's his twin sister. Verdict? This spanish rose has some 'splainin to do.

    Now Winter Nights Enlarge

This isn't exactly what I thought it would smell like. It's totally different... but good in its own way. Once applied I get vanilla, wood, caramel, and red musk underneath (oh how I love you red musk). There's also that ylang-ylang poking its head around, and a bit of patchouli that hasn't had a chance to age yet. I have a feeling that this will be amazing in a couple of years. On dry down, it's caramel flavored red musk. 'snot so bad really. I kinda like it. I think that I'm going to have to hunt down a bottle Throw: A strong medium Verdict: Not for popcorn.

    The Adoration of the Mi-Go

I loved this the moment I sniffed it in it's cute lil prototype bottle at the lab during will call. I wanted to buy it during release, but I really practiced self control so that I could buy gifts for christmas... I now have my very own decant and am happy as a clam I am! Once applied, it's sweet and fruity, with a swirl of something dark and inedible (though the top note is all edible). The dark note is almost dirty, but not quite. It's just smokey and herbal. It doesn't change much on the dry down, but it's still awesome. Throw is medium Verdict: Please do not feed the Cthulhu.

    Diable en Boîte

God Dammit. Why did I completely ignore these past yules? I did it to myself on purpose, and I hate myself for it. This is fantastic!! I'm coming to realize that I love peach, but only when it's a supporting role to darker resin notes or red musk. Once applied, I get a nice whiff of peaches and dark red musk, with the sweetness of tobacco. God this is beautiful! There's not much redwood popping through, nor do I smell clove. Don't matter though. I bet those notes are present, but just really adding to the underlying characteristics of "mmmmmm" in a cumulative type of mixture. Oh wait... is that the clove I'm starting to smell? YUM!! Ooooh! And there's a bit of redwood. Nice!! There's also a bit of a bitter note. Dunno what it is, but it's not horrible, it's just adding something new. Guests are always welcome to attend during morph meetings. Bring it on!!! The throw is light to medium Verdict: Freaking YES! I need a bottle.

    The Shivering Boy

Why didn't I think that I would like this? Oh yeah! It's because it mentions ozone. Well jeeze, you could've told me that this type of ozone doesn't cause headaches. It's the perfect ozoney scent. Probably because the sweetness that follows the ozone note. Without that, I wouldn't have liked this at all, but as it is I LOVE IT. Like I said... there's that sweetness that rounds out the ozone. The resins are in perfect harmony as well. There's a bitterness, that's not too bitter at all. It's just a perfect addition to the other notes which sweeten the bitterness up. I wish I could say what notes where what (what is the bitter note?) I know that it's the benzoin sweetening everything up. Is it the labdanum that's bitter? For some reason, I thought that it would be sweet. Oh well. I'm still loving it. Especially on the dry down. When it's drying, the ozone calms down a little bit and leaves a minty freshness behind (rather than rain freshness) I like minty freshness better The throw is medium. Verdict: Poor little shivering boy. He smells hot.

    Gacela of the Dark Death

Another favorite. I love pine and pitch and clove. This is reminiscent of pickled imp sans cinnamon. Under the pine and pitch and spicy clove, there's a sweet note. Almost like juice. Aha! Somebody else said orange. It almost does have an orangy tang. As it dries down, the fruity note ripens up a little. The throw is medium to strong. I love it!!! Verdict: Sexy chicks running through a humid forest... and cloves. Win!!!

    Hellhound on My Trail

Now I know what brimstone smells like. It smells like an exotic vacation filled with dark vanilla and bay rum somewhere in the better parts of bpal purgatory. It's spicy, like Morocco (as others have noted) but definitely it's darker more sinister twin. Filled with love I am. I wish that I hadn't been so dumb to not have purchased this when it came out. I understand now why it's sought after. verdict: Morocco's been bad. Very bad.

    Looking for the perfect Lunacy

Red Moon 07!!! Based on your favorite blends, you'd probably like Red Moon. I also love Falling leaf Moon. That one is a total winner this year. You might also enjoy Wolf Moon, Raven Moon, or even Harvest Moon (06 was the best IMO) Another nice moon is Buck Moon (but good luck on finding that bottle). I hope you find your moon!! My moon is Buck Moon (and I'm a red musk lover).

The Malignant Dreams of Cthulhu in Love

I Loveeeeeeeeeeeee this!!! I'm not usually a foodie girl, but I had a strong feeling that based on reviews, that I would love this. I was right. It's total love. In the bottle, it's chocolate. But never fear foodie haters!! Once applied, everything will change. Once I apply, the chocolate is still there, but the incense and salty sweetness take over almost immediately. It's not milky sweet chocolate either. It's more like a cocoa. The dark incense making it something that you don't want to nom on. It makes you want to inhale your arm though. I bet that as the incense ages, that this will be one of my top 10 favorites. Easily. The throw is decent, and pretty dern good! Verdict? Ebil chocolate!! Ebillllll!!!!

    Clockwork Couture: Female

Once applied, I get vanilla, like Antique Lace. It's lovely and feminine. Once it starts to dry down, the leather pops through. This is what I wanted Liz to smell like (blast those florals!!) I can smell a bit of the leather in the background. The moss isn't very prominent. If it's there, it's probably playing a supporting role to the leather. No clay, or any dirt really. The tonka is naturally sweet on it's own, so it's blending in with the vanilla perfectly. Overall, this is a beautiful vanilla leather blend. For those of you who wanted Liz to be less flowers, more vanilla and leather... this is for you!! Throw is moderate. I love it! Verdict? Liz and Antique lace's younger sister
  24. heathercaley

    Candles Moon

I'm so very excited for Candles Moon! Once applied, I get a blast of milky cool beeswax-y berries. Sounds weird right? Totally not... The milk lends itself to a creaminess that isn't foody. It's sweet and soft. Very feminine. The beeswax creates just a touch of honey sweetness, without being too sugary. It's mellow and smooth. The berries add a certain charm, and create a brightness mirrored by the honey from the beeswax. The snow is represented as a slight minty coolness, but not at all ozoney or harsh. It's just beautiful! The throw is moderate, and it's a cool creamy honey scent from afar. I'm in love... verdict? Too beautiful for a witty remark.

    Hungry Ghost Moon 2006

This is just beautiful!! It's such a huge jump from my usual dark and scary bottles that I hoard like crazy. I've been dying to try HGM for ages. Vanilla/ginger/rice wine/sandalwood sounds like notes of total win for me. Once applied, I melt. I simply melt. I'm really loving this. It's slightly refreshing with a touch of citrus, and the sugar ginger candy is spicing it up just a touch. It's not sugary sweet at all, and the woods are super soft. The musks aren't too crazy either. The aloe is really beautiful in this.. really making it juicy. When it dries down, the musks and woody grapefruit are all that is left behind, but it's beautiful!!! Verdict? Not that traditional grapefruit breakfast eaten by Frances "Baby" Houseman‎'s mom toward the end of Dirty Dancing.
