I get very fresh carnations from the vial. On it's beautiful, a full spicy carnation scent. I can certainly detect the phlox behind it and as time goes on the sugar comes more to the foreground. At this point the spicyness has almost completely disappeared, but I really do like this scent. A whole lot

I tried Phantasm out without checking the notes again and I'm pleased to see that I recognized both the jasmine and the neroli. In the vial I get a strong lemon/jasmine scent, wet it's a lemon tea, then the flowers kick in, then it turns into soft lemon soap with a slight floral edge to it and then... it disappears. It's my first scent of which I could really notice the changes as I wore it, but it has little throw and is a bit too light for my taste. I liked it best when it was lemon tea with a hint of florals, although surprisingly the lemon soap phase wasn't too bad either. It just fades far too quick, it's been two hours after application and it's completely gone. I like it, but unsure if it's worth buying a bottle of it if it fades so quick on my skin.

I definitely get a lot of patchouli from the vial, it's a dry woodsy scent. It dries down to a rather warm wood scent with most of the patchouli leaving. Shame, I love patchouli. Overall I find it's a pleasant scent, but not sure if I'll ever get a bottle.

I love anything with rose, so it's definitely my kind of scent. I really like the blend of spices and soft rose, the spices do start to dominate the scent after a while, but overall it's a nice scent. It's also quite strong on me.

I managed to get an imp of this, but I have to say that in the vial it smells so light that I can barely smell it O_O On my wrist however it amps up and I'm getting a wonderful cool fresh scent with some cucumber and what seems like just a bit of fruity sweetness. I don't get any mint at all and it smells really strong on me, it has some definite throw. A very pretty scent which definitely reminds me of winter.

Very green and herby in the imp, I'm also getting some florals. On my skin it turns into a full bouquet of flowers with a sharp edge to it. It's not a heady floral, it stays quite light and the slight scent of the herbs makes it very pleasant. Overall it's a scent that definitely works for me, I really like it. ETA: big bottle has been purchased.

I immediately zoned in on Glasgow as my mother is a Glaswegian (living in the Netherlands now for the past 26 years) and I do like the scent of blackberries. Sadly this scent isn't really for me. It smells like it should in the imp and wet, rosy heather and blackberries, but it doesn't remind me of the Glasgow that I know and knowing my mother, it would be the same for her. I don't mind the flowery-ness of it, but it's a soapy scent and the fruity blackberry disappears on my skin leaving me with something that reminds me way too much of soap and baby powder. ETA: I was forced to try this scent again as the imp has started leaking and I got it all over my hands. I'm actually tolerating the scent better now, I'm getting used to it. I certainly won't be buying a big bottle, but I don't mind using this now that I can't swap it. ETA numero deux: I just wanted to strike out what I wrote over a month ago. I was just a newbie (still am, but don't tell anyone) and have now had more experience with the other Wanderlust blends and now fully understand what Beth has tried to create. This might still not smell like Glasgow the actual city, but thank the gods for that! The more I smell this (as I'm still forced to, the imp still leaks) the more it reminds me of the country side outside of Glasgow. It's not your exact scent kind of thing here, but more the romantic idea, the scent of good memories.

Sweet floral incense would be the best way to describe how Cairo smells to me. I don't get a single hint of lemon or lemongrass, just a beautiful complex floral/spicy/incense scent. The spicyness has faded and after two hours of wearing Cairo seems to be mellowing a bit, but this works so well for me. It brings back a lot of memories. I also find that wet it's not that nice, far too sweet with a nasty sharp edge, but once it dries it's truly wonderful. I think this would be excellent as a room scent as well.

This is actually the first BPAL scent I've ever smelled and I was happy to find that the scent immediately appealed to me. At first sniff I got very strong incense, then jasmine. Wet on my skin the incense still stayed quite strong, but there was a strong underlying floral blend. At first I found the jasmine a tad too overpowering, but I felt comforted by the scent as it reminded me of a perfume my grandmother used to wear. My boyfriend wasn't overly fond of the scent, he found it too strong and old lady-ish, but I really loved how the notes blended together after a while. The incense stayed the strongest note on my skin which I didn't mind at all. It does fade a bit, but for example I can still faintly smell it 6 hours after applying it.
