  1. I got an imp in a PIF from Bethany. Thank you darling!
In the Imp: Sugary floral goodness.
Wet: Very light floral. I can't really tell what it is at first, then the Violet starts to emerge. It's very light. It almost reminds me of Antique Lace in a way. But with Violet instead of Vanilla.
Dry, after about 5 minutes: Violets and a bit of sugar. It's not bad, it's light and pretty. I'm really thankful it's not Old Lady Violet. You know the kind I'm talking about. It's the unpleasant kind that stinks to high heaven. No one likes that kind of violet.
Dry after 10 minutes: Still Violet Lace. That's what I'm gonna call this.
Dry after 30 minutes: The sweetness starts to surface. It's kind of enjoyable.

Dry after 40 minutes: Err... An odd Caramel note almost happens? It's not bad, The violet is still there, but it just sort of happens on me. It kind of ate most off the violets up. There's still a bit of it left, but not as much.
It's really pretty. If you like violets, you'll probably like this. If you like Antique Lace, you might also like Faith. It has the same airy, wispy quality that Antique Lace does. Maybe that's the nostalgia note that Antique has? I'm not sure.

  2. My fiance bought us both a bottle of this when it came out. It smells so damned good.

In the bottle: Chocolate and sea salt

Wet, on my skin: Mmmm Chocolate and sea salt with a tiny bit off incense. Something in this makes my nose itch a little almost. Not in a bad way. I'm not sure how to explain it. It kind of crawls up there!

Dry, after about 5 minutes: Chocolate Incense. Yum!

After about 30 minutes: Mostly incense and sea smells. Wee bit of chocolate left.

After 45 minutes: Incense and aquatics. Chocolate is gone. It's a gorgeous scent though.

Vedict: I would burn this incense. I would try this chocolate. Why the fuck not? It might be strange and interesting.

  3. Wet, it starts out kind of mild... Like you don't really smell anything at first...

Then BAM... You pick up incense, and Jasmine. Lots of jasmine. Some florals in the background. It's sparkly just like it says. It feels very feminine and elegant! I can smell another flower, I'm guessing it's the moonflower?

    It smells really lovely!

I wish I had some of this as an incense to burn. It's gorgeous.

  4. So, I have Black Widow on one wrist, and Obsidian Widow on the other, to see how they compare.

    In the Imp: WIIIIINE!

The Wine note says "Hey there!" and pretty much just crawled up my nose, a lot like Black Widow's did. I feel kind of like I could actually have drank this Pinot Noir, with as strong as this smells. Then a little Rose rears it's head. Oh please don't dominate...

Thankfully it isn't, and the Jasmine is also entering the stage. Along with a little of a sweet, almost fruit note I noticed in Black Widow? It's not taking center stage, it's just there, anchoring the roses and Jasmine. It's really gorgeous.

Oh God, after like 20 minutes I'm amping roses again. If you like roses, you'll love this.

It's really a lovely blend, where I said Black Widow was Nyx's little sister, Obsidian seems to be perfectly capable of throw. She has way more roses than Nyx. Less Jasmine. Still nice!

  5. I never reviewed this I guess?

Wet: It smells sour. Kind of icky. I'm assuming that's the wine. This is something I would NOT want to put on my skin if I just went by what it smells like in the Imp!

On my skin: It starts out as wine, on me. Then the Rose and Jasmine kind of peek out. I get a little of the myrrh but not much. It's not very strong on me, and doesn't have a lot of throw. It's a nice oriental, but it's just nice.

It eventually does gain a bit of a fruity note... But it's still not a strong scent. That might be cause it's like 10 years old though.

It dries down to a beautiful Jasmine powder skin scent. I kind of love it like this.

I think for this kind of scent I much prefer Nyx. I feel like Black Widow is her little sister, who is trying to be like Nyx.

  6. Another resurrection.

My Granny always wore Opium, and thanks to my fiance's Aunt, I have a bottle of the Vintage Opium. I love it, and would love to find something similar. She's SUPER miffed because of Oakmoss being removed screwed up the reformulation of Opium. I was hoping someone might have found a BPAL version so I could keep it in mind for a gift.

    Thanks!

  7. Nyx smells like Fever, 100% to me.

I've been DYING for something that smelled like Fever massage bar ever since it was discontinued. Lush disappointed me a BUNCH. It had this beautiful combination of Jasmine, Sandalwood, and Rose. It was supposed to be reminiscent of old Hollywood Lipstick I think? It wasn't like Lust by Lush which is so much Jasmine that I couldn't stand it. It was a delicate balance that was amazing.

It smelled like heaven to me.

So one of my friends sent me an imp of Nyx and I put it on, and this, my friends, is as close to Fever as I've found in the years since it's Discontinuation. It's gorgeous! I want a full sized bottle of it.

  8. A friend sent an imp me this 'cause I love pomegranate, and cookies.

Wet: Butter cookies! Like the Royal Dansk kind that my Papa always used to buy a tin of, then all of my Nanny's would turn the tins in to sewing kits!

Dry after about 5 minutes: Butter cookies with something sweet. Cream? Maybe a bit of pomegranate?

After 10 minutes: Still butter cookies unless I sniff REAL hard, then I can smell the pomegranate. I kinda want to eat the bend of my arm.

After 45 minutes: Butter cookies. Maybe cream. If I could move a bit better right now I'd go make some blondies outta cake mix cause I am seriously craving something butter-cookie like now.

After 1 Hour 30 Minutes: Something sweet, and butter cookies.

A few hours later: A nice vanilla cream.

Basically: Butter cookies a little fruit, then vanilla. I wish it had more pom.

  9. In the Vial: Oh very sweet! Yum!

On my skin: Almonds, and something sweet...This is so good! It reminds me a tiny bit of Chimera... Now the orange is coming out a little I think. And a tiny bit of Cinnimon. It's soaking into my skin fairly quickly.

Dry: Now I smell like Dentyne Gum. O_o; I don't think I'll be keeping this.. I'm still undecided though.

I've decided I'm sending this as a freebie imp to someone, since that's what I got it as. ^^

  10. A salacious, lecherous, leering scent - dirty and dark, slapped with a wet sweetness. Earthy black patchouli swelling with apricot.

A gift impie from the lab that I'd wanted to try. :P

In the Vial: Sweet Apricots and something a little dark in it...

Wet: It starts out as sweet apricots, then the patchouli.

Dry: Apricots being defiled by Patchouli. Young sweet tender apricots, with dirty, old, patchouli using them for it's own pleasures... The apricots like it though.

Conclusion: This one just isn't for me. Off to swaps!

  11. In the Vial: Kinda yucky roses, not good, it's bitter in the vial. :P;

Wet: Roses, Sweet almost Candied Roses. Good thing I tried this on!

Dry: Dark Candied Roses, oh so very nice...

    Conclusion: This is really nice, but I doubt I'll be buying a full sized bottle... I'm sure I'll use the imp though... Probably. :D;;

  12. In the Vial: Spearminty. I don't smell the lotus in the Vial

Wet on the Skin: Mint with a hint of Lotus. They're fighting for control.

Drydown: Mmmm... Really good, it's Lotus, with Mint... Oh this is yummy!

Conclusion: This is really nice. I really like it and the Lotus is apparant, and it's just... Really nice. If they make this permanent I'd like to get at least another imp, maybe a bottle. Normally I'm not a mint-loving girl, but, I love Nine Mysteries!

  13. In the Vial: Very Linenlike with a bit of Vanilla

Wet on the Skin: More Vanilla, less Linen.

    Drydown: It soaked in fairly quickly, Linen and Vanilla. Not all that exciting or anything :P;

Conclusion: This is nice but I'm not excited over it or anything. I hoped I would be and that it'd be more cotton candyish, but, unfortunately for me it's not. Oh well. It's okay...

  14. In the Vial: Pear and maybe some Rose.... Possibly Grape.

Wet on the Skin: Pear and Sweat Pea...

Drydown: Sweat Pea and Pear and some florals behind it. It's very nice! Almost candylike!

    Conclusion: This makes my nose itch too much, unfortunately. It's nice but I don't think I'd wear it often.... But either the Sweet Pea, or -something- in here is making my nose itchy... maybe the Pear. :P;;

  15. I'd like to say, I am on the eternal hunt for the real spun sugar cotton candy scent and based on reviews here I tried a few. Sadly none were the right scent.

Siren and Aunt Caroline's Joy Mojo both were PURE bubblegum and stayed that way.

Lolita was fruity candy gum, not as obnoxious as the 2 mentioned above.

And Fae was super peachy and sweet. Delicious, but not cotton candy at all...

    My search continues. :P

Try Dragon's Milk! I wound up ordering a 10ml, it turns to pure cotton candy on me!

  16. La Petit Mort:

In the Vial: I can smell the Ylang Ylang and Myrrh in the vial. Nice.

Wet: Mmm, sweet almost, deep, floral, without being "too much" anything... It's very nice.

Dry: Drydown is a bit sweet, a bit floral (ylang ylang) and a tiny bit myrrhish.... it's very beautiful, it makes me feel SO sexy, like a prowess, very yummy....

    Conclusion: I like it, I'll use the imp and consider getting another one because it's just so pretty... Well that and because of how sexy it makes me feel :P;;

  17. Luna: I love this....

In the Vial: I think I smell Jasmine or Ylang Ylang

Wet: Jasmine or Ylang Ylang and something a bit fruity, I can't pinpoint it though.

Dry: Lovely Jasmine and Ylang Ylang... This is so beautiful, I really like this scent. It's sweet, and floral, and lovely.... I'd love to get more of this.

Conclusion: I'll horde my imp and try to get another one or a bottle of it... This is beautiful.

  18. Blood Lotus:

In the Vial: Deep Sweet Cherryish Scent. Mostly smell the Dragon's Blood in the vial with a hint of lotus...

Wet: So yummy and sweet! I smell the Lotus, and then the Dragon's Blood come out... Lotus is the one thing I smell the strongest though...

Dry: Sweet, Sweet, juicy Lotus and Dragon's blood. God this is beautiful, so sweet, I wish I could eat it, because it would taste so freaking good!

Conclusion: I'll use up the imp and one day I want a bottle of it!

  19. Forbidden Fruit: I got this as an extra imp from someone, I had been dying to try it.

In the Vial: Lotus and Apple maybe? It's something Fruity and Juicy...

Wet: Lotus and Citrus... I could swear it's Lotus and Apple, but I'm not quite sure... I can smell the Citrus though...

Dry: Lotus, Mixed with Apple, and Citrus. So very sweet, Fruity, and Citrusy all at once... Yummy!

Conclusion: It's very nice but I think I like some of the other Lotus blends more... Undertow, for instance, Or Black Lotus, but I will use up the imp of it!

  20. Formula 54... I won this Implet in a contest run by Monet, and I like it a lot. :D

    In the Vial:

Wet: A little Tart almost, but sweet... I think it's the Cognac. I think I can also smell the black rose.

Dry: Wow, this is SO sexy... It's very similar to Hell's Belle in terms of scent. It's sweet, Smoky, and yummy all around! Herby Floral Cherry like Ultraviolet and others described is a good way to pinpoint what it is. :P

Conclusion: This is really good, but, I think since Hell's Belle is so close to this I'll use it once I run out, and only use F54 for special occasions... Being that F54 costs so much I just don't have the money to buy a bottle if it came back... But it's still wonderful.

If you want a similar Non-LE: Try Hell's Belle. They're very similar. :D

  21. Midwinter's Eve, I'd describe it as Bordello without all of the depth...

In the Vial: Plum, Plum and more Plum!

Wet: Sweet, yummy plum is pretty much all I smell wet on here... It's beautiful. Plummy yumminess!

Dry: Like sugary plummy fairy candy, if I had ever ate any sugar plums, I'm sure they'd smell like this, juicy, sweet, a little tart, but mostly sweet, and yummy.

Conclusion: Next year when it comes back I might wind up getting a bottle. But, honestly? Bordello is a LOT like this, and if you're looking for a subsitute for Midwinter's Eve, try Bordello. :D Both are good, I'm not saying MWE is bad, not at all, but Bordello just has more depth. This is still really nice tho... Winter-y. :P

  22. Regan:

In the Vial: Sweet almost soapy Vanilla

Wet: The Soapiness disapears and it starts out very strong Vanilla mixed with something to make it a bit floral or maybe it's deeper... Not sure which I think...

Dry: Sweet Vanilla, mixed with something else. Not quite sure what it is other than really good....

Conclusion: I'll at least use up the imp and get another one, but there are other things I want in bottles first before this one... But I definately think it's nice and if you like Vanilla worth a try. :P
