In the bottle: Sweet milk on the point of turning, figs and grape. Very lush, with some tartness. It smells akin to the mango bubble teas that I so love. For me it's coconut meat, not oil; still I can definitely see why coconut is mentioned so much. On, wet: Very musky right off. The milk has all but disappeared. I think I'm getting dates and honey, but through the musk it's hard to tell. Maybe some wine? On, dry: So much better. The longer it wears, the better I like it. The drydown is intruiging, and it turns into warm cream & honey with figgy overtones. Very warm, lush and grounded. I'll try it again in a few days (different chemistries in the month, y'know) and then decide if I keep both bottles or just one.

In the imp: This is very, very sweet - I pick up the pomegranate and mimosa right away. And something like cherries? The myrrh and patchouli come out then, with maybe a little smoke. On, wet: Hello, cassia! The spiciness was there in the imp; on my skin it's amped to crazy levels. I smell like burning cassia - sweet, complex, heady, POWERFUL smoke. On, dry: Still sweet smoke. Incense more than anything else. The patchouli and musk are more prominent here. I scrubbed it off at this point, because it's damn heady and I needed to sleep. Into the swap-pile this goes, for someone who will truly love it.

Ah, Croquet! The scent that started my BPAL fixation. I got an imp from a friend who loves it, but can't wear it. Smells just like Hawaiian Punch on her, but on me it's a lovely creamy lime-spiked floral, sharper and deeper and more sophisticated than any juice drink . Every so often the sage amps a bit, which I love. I'll definitely have to search out more sage-y goodness - this note really works for me. I'm keeping the imp and ordering a bottle, or two or three.

In the imp: POW! Grape Kool-aid! The grape spirit and lemon working overtime - I can taste the sour more than I can smell it. On, wet: Thankfully, the Kool-aid backs off. I get a lift of rosemary and mint and a sharp floral underneath. My monthly chemistry is turning everything sharp! Gah. On, dry: Things have calmed down, and I have a light floral with an herbal backbone. Every so often I get a whiff of sharp rose. This one is a keeper. I layered it with Croquet and the two play very nicely together.

In the imp: Bitter citrus and a hint of something tree-ish, something resiny. There's an underlying sweetness, too - definitely a scent that hits all my winter notes. On, wet: Suddenly the scent is very, very sharp and unpleasant. One of my friends remarks that I smell like Febreze. I'm horrified, but gah. She's right. On, dry two hours later: Still Febreze. I'll wait a few days for the body chemistry to even out, and then try again. I really want to like this scent, but if Febreze is where my body wants to go with it I'll put this imp up for swap.
