    Les Fleurs du Mal

This perfume went through distinct stages, and there was nothing harmonious about it. It went from heady lilacs to rosy lilacs-->rosy wisteria-->powder-->nothing. Not for me. Off to the swaps.

    Wrath

I tried this on thinking "it's gonna suck" because dragon's blood and I so do not get along. I was so surprised when I liked it. :swoon: Wet: It doesn't smell like dragon's blood--this might not suck. Drying: Warm, sweet cinnamon--like Red Hots. It's nice. I think I like it. Dry: This is surprisingly nice, given the dragon's blood. It smells just like Red Hots. It's sexy. Maybe this worked on my because I was angry and pissed, wrathful even, when I tried it on. Or maybe it just works on me. I'm definitely keeping the imp, I'm just not sure I'd wear a whole bottle.

    Loviatar

While wet it smelled of leather and myrrh, and dry it was patchouli. Not for me, so off to the swaps.

    War

Wet: War smells of warm woods and bitter baker's chocolate that's been burnt in the double boiler. On my skin: Ranchid Chinese food. Something here does not like my skin chemistry, and it smells rancid and rotting. And it throws. Ugh. I couldn't wash it off fast enough.

    Yvaine

In the imp, it's crisp and slighlty astringent, and lots of lavender. Wet on my skin, it's soapy, stinging, eye-watering magnolia. As it dries, it smells nice at a distance, as the perfume diffuses and wafts around me.When I smell my wrist it's dry, soapy, strong lavender. I don't really like it, so it's off to the swaps.

    Fairy Market

Fairy Market is a delectable, sugary, bubble gum (in a good way), candy-coated imp. On my skin, it morphs into a dry, sweet, grassy floral. But that only comes out when I jam my wrist into my nose. Otherwise, it floats around me in a sweet, rich cloud of scent. Thankfully,it doesn't smell in the least bit "foody," and the lavender isn't overpowering. All in all, it's gorgeous, and I need a bottle

    Viola

Viola when wet is a perfumey floral. It smells like perfume. On my skin, it starts off as a soft rose, and then dries to a powdery, artificial plastic rose.

    White Rabbit

Strong black tea and milk with white pepper, ginger, honey and vanilla, spilled over the crisp scent of clean linen. I love tea. I really do. But I hate foody perfumes. In the bottle: I can smell vanilla, sugar and black tea. On my skin: I smell honey and tea. Basically, it smells like someone took a decent cup of tea, added a whole bunch of unnecessary flavors to it, and then spilled it all over the table cloth. I did not like this one at all. Not even my favorite food can make me like a foody perfume.

    Red Devil

Red Devil is very smoky/floral. I don't like the smell, and it wasn't a turn-on.

    Rose Red

My switch witch sent me an imp of Rose Red 05, and it's the best present she could have sent This scent really is a perfect, luscious, dewy, red rose. Underneath the perfect rose is a hint of greenery, so the rose is still alive. It hasn't been kept in a florist's for days, nor is it in a hot-house. It truly is a perfect rose. I'm absolutely in love with this scent, and I live in constant hope that Beth will make more someday. ----------- Rose Red 2007 It's a very green rose scent. The green is almost overpowering, and it's very high, like a rose in the atmosphere. I sill like it a lot, but I think it needs time to age and mellow out.

    Bathsheba

Bathsheba is a very plummy, less refined Aglaea.

    Namaste

While it's wet and in the bottle all I can smell is the musk. On my skin, the jasmine and lemongrass do something wonky so that I smell like a Thai restaurant. I love eating food, I don't love smelling like it--makes me feel like I spilled my dinner all over me. So Namaste goes into the swap pile.

    Forbidden Fruit

In the imp Forbidden Fruit is sugary-floral-bubble gum. On my skin it's a rather blah fruity floral.

    Anne Bonny

When I opened the imp, I got a nose full of musk. On my skin it was musk and patchouli. There was no depth to this perfume, and it's way too heavy and overpowering.

    Morocco

While wet, Morocco is fruity and spicy. It reminds me of mulled wine, but both the spices and the fruits used to flavor the wine are exotic. On my skin it's very musky, and the musk and the sandalwood are of equal strength. There's a strong spiciness in the background--I think it's the cassia. However, it fades very quickly.

    Lilith

Both in the bottle and on my skin, Lilith smelled of sour red wine. It dried to a musky rose. It was nice, but not impressive.

    Prague

In the bottle it's a warm, buttery, rich herbal/floral. There's a slight astringent scent, which I think is one of the lilies, and a hint of grass. On my skin it's so much more floral. There's a richness here that I haven't found in other florals. I was a little concerned, because I am allergic to lilies, but thankfully it's only to lily pollen. This is such a beautiful perfume.

    Cottonmouth

I've never smelled Snake Oil, but I *love* linden blossom. I really wanted to try the only other lab scent with linden blossom. I've never smelled Snake Oil. I opened the imp and was floored. This is a rich, sexy floral. Strong, sexy, tropical, warm and creamy. I love it. I really smell the vanilla, and the linden is elusive but still there. I've realized a few things. I need a bottle of Cottonmouth (or 2) and I need to try Snake Oil.

    Pulcinella & Teresina

I'm not getting the labdanum or the rose. The cedar and teak are completely dominant here. When I first apply it I smell like an upscale artisan lumber yard- where they have all the exotic woods for the serious craftsman/artisen. As it dries down I smell like my mother's cedar hopechest. Neither is an unpleasant smell. This is a strong perfume. It reminds me of forests and Earth in a metaphysical sense.

    Neo-Tokyo

I got a sniffle of this in a swap, and I resisted trying it for a few weeks, just because I was afraid I would absolutely love it and be heartbroken at it's unavailability. I finally tried it this weekend, and while it is lovely, it's not an OMG must have, so I'm safe. It's an airy, green springtime scent. I love the freshness and intricate simplicity of the scent, it has a very Japanese aesthetic.

    Highwayman

As I opened the imp there came a waft of vetiver strong enough to make my eyes water. As it dried it calmed down and the gardenia and jasmine came out, and soon after that, the rose. It was all sharp, though, not soft. Eventually it faded down to the leather, which quietly lingered in the background. Again, this is another scent that I would love to smell on a man.

    Sin

It smelled of rank patchouli and gave me a headache. The cinnamon was irritating to my skin and I washed it off immediately.
  23. bryghtrose

    Blood

Ugh--cherry and dragon's blood, my two least-favorite scents. Since I'm trying every imp I get, I opened it up and put it on, even though I knew I would hate it.
  24. bryghtrose

    Dragon's Heart

icky-sticky-sweet Dragon's blood and food scents are so not my favorites, but it was a frimp, and I'll try everything at least once.

    Calico Jack

Wet=wet Dry=wet. It smelled wet while drying. Ozone-y, damp, salty, ocean-y. Then it started to throw Old Spice. It didn't smell all that good on me. Makes me wish I had a man to smell this on, because it's so very masculine.
