In the bottle: Musty, sharp, spicy. Overpowering like cheap cologne Wet on skin: Mellowed, richer. Musky with a sharp after-note Dry: Rich, resinous amber with a hint of orange. Still musty. I love this scent. It will most likely be my "professional" scent, because I'm a librarian, and, well, I like the smell of rare books. This was a frimp with my first order, and I'm so glad I got to try it. I'm relieved that the orange note is very subtle, because I can't stand the smell of oranges or orange juice. I think that my skin amps amber and other resins, so they always become the dominant scent. I am very happy with this scent. I can see myself getting a bottle.

In Bottle: Fresh, a little cloying, a little astringent-like witchazel, a little powdery. Wet on skin: Less astringent, still fresh & powdery. The orchid is starting to come out. It reminds me of mist and fog. Dry: huh? where's the scent. Oh, there it is. Very subtle. Nice, soft and flowery. Overall: I got this one for the name. As a devotee of the Morrigan, how could I not? The scent didn't match up with my internal images, though. The scent I would make for the Morrigan would be stronger, darker, more firey but that's because I'm used to calling on her for help with battles. This perfume reminded me that she is also a magic goddess, one who dwells in liminal states. The subtlety of the perfume and the exotic-yet-familiar combination of orchids with apples enhances the mist and mystery. I'll be wearing this more often, I'm sure. It's a delightful floral. I just wish it was stronger, and had more staying power.

Initial Impressions: Pine & Old Spice Wet: More of the pine, which I guess is the juniper. Lost the Old Spice overtones. Dry: Very much juniper. Can't make out any of the other scents. I don't think I like this. It doesn't remind me of forests or dirt. Loam is much drier, and fresher than this scent. I've only smelled New England forests, and they have a very different scent, more woodsy, drier, crisper. I'm thinking this is what southern forests smell like, or maybe New Orleans swamps. It smells wet and dank.

Wet/in bottle: It reminded me of wine, and not in a good way; very sticky and alcoholic. I wasn't sure I'd like it. Dry: I'm glad I tried it, because I love the dry scent of the myrrh. I didn't find it dark, rather it was strong and earthy. It's subtle, reminiscent of incense and resin. It's not overpowering, and only noticeable up close. I didn't notice the jasmine or rose at all. I love this scent. It will be good for everyday wear.
