Twelve petals in the heart chakra, twelve cranial nerves in the human body. Twelve lunar months, twelve lunations in a solar year, twelve signs of the Zodiac, twelve Earthly Branches. Twelve Tribes of Israel, twelve Apostles, Jacob and Ishmael each had twelve sons. Twelve days of Christmas, the sacred time between Christmas and Epiphany. Odin had twelve sons. There are twelve jurors in Athenas celestial court. The stars in her crown are hexagrams, proclaiming her dominion over the material world. A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head: red musk and tolu, centifolia rose and black tobacco, French lavender and star anise, Roman chamomile and leather. In the bottle, it's all centifolia rose and chamomile. On skin, I get soft tobacco, star anise, centifolia rose (not too strong for all you rose-haters), a worn-in leather couch, and a pinch of something that smells like juniper. This is not a perfume that you wear to make you feel pretty. This is a mystical blend--an anointing oil that you wear with intention. I get average throw and average longevity with The Starry Crown.

Let's gear up and help the Angel City Junior Derby 2018 A-Listers get to this years Junior Roller Derby Association's National Championships! This year's event will be held in Feasterville-Trevose from July 20-22, where the top teams in the nation will compete in high speed, high level flat track derby. Angel City Derby is a 501©3, based in Gardena, Los Angeles. Aside from building athleticism, roller derby helps the players socially, giving them confidence, leadership skills and teaching the skate skills they need to be able to play this competitive game at the highest level. As an inclusive league, they value diversity and recognize that each child is an individual as well as a team player, working to bring out the best in each. A sleek skin musk with Mysore sandalwood, bourbon vanilla, frankincense resin, and a touch of costus. I tried this at the June WCWC. Since Drag is for Everyone's skin musk and frankincense turned aquatic on me, I wasn't planning on trying this. However, I really liked it, so I put a swipe on my arm right before WCWC ended. What I got was a skin musk with vanilla and facets of honey, lightly fragranced with a sheer layer of sandalwood and frankincense. It worked really well in the summer heat. Out of the seven scents that I liked well enough to skin-test, it was one of two favorites. Medium longevity and medium sillage.

From Facebook: Slime Queen is a cotton candy Dorian variant Like a lighter, somewhat cleaner Dorian. I love Dorian, so I had to buy this one. Edit: It's been a week and I tried Slime Queen again and got cotton candy right off the bat. The delicious sugar and vanilla are exactly what I was craving on this hot night, but as it dries, they recede and Dorian comes out.

From Facebook: Chocolate + Pickles is a combination of three chocolates (for Zoe, Lilith’s chocolate lab) and vanilla buttercream (for Lilith’s fluffy white retriever, Pickle) Fudge brownie with chocolate chips. Not much throw or longevity and doesn't morph, but it smells delicious while it lasts!

Light white flowers. Low throw and gone within an hour. You could say that it "ghosted" on me.

2018 release. Wet: frankincense, rose, then sourish spices. Drydown: myrrh, light honey, saffron emerge. Milky chai with rose water. Like Alice + Deux from the 2018 Lupers. Kind of like a... rose doughnut with sour spices in the background. I like roses and I like Alice, but Eve is not for me.

2018 version. Wet: Fruity floral vanilla. Hint of plastic Dry: No more plastic. The almond is too well blended to bother me. Mandarin-tuberose dominates. Drydown: Like Flowerbomb. Fruity-floral vanilla musk. Yum! This one and Streets of Detroit are my favorite of the OLLAs.

2018 version. Reminds me of the Blue Nile perfume oil that I used to buy at the goth shop back in the day. Rich, tropical gardenias, dark musk, and medicinal myrrh. This is what I would think the color indigo smells like.

Luminescent, glowing, and otherworldly: green mandarin, neroli, honeydew, white amber, guava, freesia, white and green musks hovering over desert scrub, smashed wood, and the dry, biting scent of night air over the Groom Lake salt flats. Green and fresh and lightly floral. I'm getting sweet freesia with white and green musks.

Just as dementia_divine noted, this is mostly sweet tobacco and black musk with just a hint of minty citrus on top. It's deep and bottom-heavy but softly sweet/bitter/earthy. It's in the same family as Auriga from the 2017 Yules. I think this would be best in cold weather. Edited to Add: This lasts very long on me. Eight hours later, I get whiffs of musky tobacco and wonder where it's coming from.

Sugared mint, bourbon, tangerine, and lime. The Green Wig Spray smells like a delicious mint-lime bourbon with a touch of cinnamon/vanilla/walnuts. It reminded me of a minty cinnamon cupcake when it was wet. Out of all the wig sprays I smelled at DragCon, this one surprised me with its uniqueness and refreshing mintiness. If I had a sweaty ol' wig, this would be perfect for it! Also, compared to the BPTP hair glosses, this wig spray feels like more like a hair mist rather than something oily that imparts shine. That would make sense, because you don't want to put oils on a synthetic wig. It would weigh the hair down and possibly ruin the styling of it.

Like a lilac Dorian with the same grape-y oudh that was in Cassiopeia.

Mme. Moriarty, Misfortune Teller (2015)
RedPersimmon replied to Ina Garten Davita's topic in Carnaval Diabolique
I'm in luuuuuurrrrrrvvvvvv! I didn't know that I was a red musk ho until I got some Mme. Moriarty on me. Wet, it's dark and musky and patchouli-ed out. As it dries, the tart red fruits and vanilla show up. It's very sexy. The vanilla rounds everything out and the combined effect is surprisingly incense-like. I have tons of new bottles and imps, yet I keep being drawn to Mme. Moriarty and for every occasion, she always feels right. -
2018 release. This is heavy on the dragon's blood resin to me. So much so, that I deathmatched it with Dragon's Blood on my other hand and it's not as bright as DB and it's spicier. As others have suggested, I can see red musk being in this. It smells very much like a fruity jasmine. I really like this and I'm going to graduate to a full bottle.

Musky spicy floral.

Cedar and cedar and cedar and then baby wipes.

Wet: Slightly fruity, minty, green leafy veggies, specifically strawberry and spearmint and cucumber. Mostly spearmint, though, with aquatic edges. Dry: The green gets spicy, like when you pull out a handful of lawn grass and tear it in two. Dry-down: No change. It's a cross between Tennis Match and View of Cascading Cherry Blossoms. Fresh, green, aquatic.

I got an empty with a few drops in it with my latest order of decants, so I thought that I would try to guess what's in this before I looked at the notes. My guess: (wet) sugared orange and spicy peach blossom and (dry) green tea and sandalwood/frankincense. So I guess the red currant comes out first when wet, then the clean myrrh phase lasts for two hours, and then that blends with amber cream for the next few hours. I get very little vetiver. It's soft, sexy and milky and creamy throughout. It reminds me very much of Narr. I guess it's the combination of milk/cream with the subdued fruit.

2018 Edition I tried it on my arm because at the moment, my hair is too short for me to smell. I get a wet floral honey musk from this. Not as spicy as the Honey HG and a bit more floral--almost fruity. Very pretty and spring-like! I wish I could have longer hair for a bit so that when I walk outside in the wind, I'd get whiffs of this as my hair moves around me.

Dusty maple syrup. Nutty. Definitely cobwebby and grotesque. I didn't like what it was doing to the back of my throat so I had to wash it off. That always happens to me whenever I smell anything maple syrupy.

Wet: A burst of star anise/clove/saffron, then bergamot and cinnamon. Made my eyes water a bit lol. Dry: Herbal, black peppery ginger beer. Dry-down: The spices (especially star anise) are dominant throughout, but eventually take a backseat to saffron and frankincense. There's a bit of sweetness here that reminds me of the sweetness of Sin, or that of ginger beer. I bet this will age nicely and smooth out the eye-watering top notes.

Wet: Big hit of honey up front. Soft, sweet musk. A hint of earthiness and resin. Dry: Soft, figgy musk. Not almond-heavy, thankfully. I tend to amp almond. Some floral amber nuances in there, too. Dry-down: Nutty vegetal, floral fig. Waxy.

Wet, I get a lemony grapefruit with a green ginger. Can you say fresh?? It dries down to a white tea and grapefruit blend. Light sillage (or maybe I just get nose-blind to this), doesn't last very long, but it won't offend anyone and is a definite mood-booster and mind-clearer.

Wet: I get smoky cola resins with a bit of black pepper. Dry: After a few minutes on my skin, the wood becomes more prominent (sandalwood?) and then cinnamon appears. Dry-down: It's deep, dark, and resinous with a tinge of sweetness. Foresty. End phase is a spicy, smoky wood. Something in it reminds me of when I used to go to mass--maybe sandalwood or frankincense. If you like Azathoth, you will like this. They are very similar, but this one has more cinnamon and is more sweet and smoky in a vetiver-like way. It also has more presence. Server Gremlins is gorgeous on my skin and it makes me feel powerful. ETA: a Lab Rat has informed me that the following scents have a similar vibe to Server Gremlins-- Al-Shairan, Behind the Veils, Bengal, and Defututa.

Wet: Bright, green tea rose. Sheer and refreshing. The shortbread is not very noticeable. It actually smells like the rose syrup that you can put in food and drinks. Yum! Dry: Shortbread comes out a teensy bit more as tea rose calms down. Still, Cinq is very tea rose-dominant, at least on me. Low-medium sillage, average longevity. From this year's Lupers, One Perfect Day and Cinq both have a tea rose note that I can't get enough of. Might have to get ALL THA TEA ROSES from now on.
