    I've never found a scent I liked!

Hey, It's been a while since I posted this! Stekkjarstaur is probably my favorite scent of all, I just wish it threw more. Its so close to the skin argh! I enjoy Antique Lace but it's not something I would worry running out of. Right now I'm just looking for 1. more stekk 2. scents similar to stekk /haha.

    Stekkjarstaur

Very different from Antique Lace, but none the less very much a like. Sweet and delicious! This smells how I wish pure vanilla extract did patted on while baking. Which I have tried and no it is not a good perfume! I am very bitter about that. Thank goodness for Stekk! God above why can't I have this as hair gloss and bath oil! Forgot to add. This stays pretty close on me. I can smell it when I raise my wrist and occasionally as I go about my business. Husband loves it on me but I wish it was stronger! With throw this would become ultra mecha holy grail scent. If this ever returns I will be a very very very happy nilbog and I would buy 1,000 bottles.

    De Vos’ Unicorn

Sweet, delicious, amazing. This is sugary vanilla peony on a bed of marshmallows. Definitely my second favorite blend of all time. It's such an innocent beautiful scent. It's like nothing I've ever smelled. I don't think I'm a huge peony fan, but the other notes compliment it so well it's elevated to near perfection. I need to hunt down another bottle of this magic.

    Zip Line

Sadly, not the cinnabon scent I held out hope for. This has a paraffin non-sweet leather cinnamon candle vibe with a bit of a wet hay/animal scent in the background. This also raised some small hives on my wrist. I've never had that reaction to a blend before.

    Cemetery Creep

White, powdery, pure, and floral. Very strong, not getting any vanilla. Non-offensive. Just a very nice white floral scent. Something that wouldn't be out of place bottled up on the department store perfume counter. Closing my eyes, I see a long trailing lace wedding dress when sniffing this.
  7. I took a gamble here, as none of the notes in particular call to me. But the bottle photo is just adorably witchy and I had to try. In the imp I recoiled. I waited a week to try it on skin. Immediately on application I am getting church incense. So funny, but I am not getting any of the notes! Just a beautiful smokey church incense. Oh this is heavenly. It is just delicious. Drying down it gets a touch more sugary. I don't know if it suits me, as I have no perfumes like it. Wednesdays Child is full of delight!

    Daybreak

Utterly delightful. The coconut is blended seamlessly. Sometimes I smell it first, sometimes after the lavender. Coconut is connected to sunscreen for me, so when I smell this I think about care free days on second beach, Aquidneck Island. Not a replacement for TKO, but I like it. This is a safe purchase if you like lavender. I did cave and buy a full size bottle. In my decant this was more more purple lavender, bottled up I can see the lavender's similarity to TKO. Settled down the coconut relaxes and vanilla comes forward. Reminding me a lot of the vanilla in antique lace.

    Hollywood Babylon

This is definitely too heady for me and it does remind me of Snake Oil, which I'm not a huge fan of. The cherry/sweet kick to it kind of makes me nauseous. I tend to stay away from amber and red musk so I was fairly certain I wouldn't enjoy this.

    Antique Lace

17 Antique Lace, never tested the original. I'm immediately taken to my kindergarten classroom in rainy Washington state smelling this. I have no idea what Mrs. Butts, yes Mrs. Butts, sprayed in the air but it's uncannily similar to this. It's a comforting smell on me. Very beautiful vanilla. When I close my eyes and sniff I can imagine walking into a house with sheets thrown over the furniture. So grateful it doesn't go plastic on. I have only worn it maybe twice but I did catch it on my shirt a day after application. I haven't been disappointed with the throw.

    A Moment in Time

A tranquil scent, illuminated by joy and warm with the serenity of love: bourbon vanilla and soft sandalwood with tiare, white fig, sweet benzoin, guiac wood, French lavender, and a touch of warm patchouli. With those notes you can't go wrong! So happy I got a bottle of this. Anything compared to Lush's twilight piques my interest. The similarities are lavender and benzoin but the fig/sandalwood/guiac in A Moment in Time makes them less familiar. This blend is more sophisticated. Surprisingly, I'm not upset that the lavender isn't a bit more noticeable. It's playing a more supporting role here. In the end this is one of the most alluring blends I own. It's sweet and sexy. I could easily see myself wearing this to a fancy dinner date. I like to layer this with TKO for some extra lavender creaminess.

    Key Lime Pie

Key lime pie is one of my favorite treats as of late. I was in the kitchen fiddling around and realized I had some vegan cream cheese that was going bad soon. I made a mixture of that whipped with lime, lemon, confectioners sugar, and zest. Over a graham cracker crust it was superb. This scent is definitely that bottled up into a liquid. In the bottle it is very zesty lime over a crust. Wet the lime stands out but as it dries down the lime fades leaving me with hints of... Mouse Circus. No joke. There must be a similar note. Now, I really really don't like Mouse Circus, but this.. this somehow is delicious oh my! This is what I wanted mouse circus to be! I am very pleased what a yummy delicious scent.

If your top 5 scents are... Then try these!

Top Four (I'm so new I don't even have 5!) 1. TKO 2. Antique Lace 3. Samhain 4. Gobo (could do with less cream I love sharp orange) Currently trying to find/waiting for: stekkjarstaur and a moment in time. I adore lavender so much I got into BPAL because bronner's lavender soap never stuck around after a shower.

    Gobo

Opening a brand new bottle. I am a citrus nut and have never found a citrus fragrance I loved. Couldn't help but slather it on upon arrival. In the bottle this is orange creamsicle soda I would obsess over as a child. I'm left thinking do I really want this as a perfume? Drying down I get teeny hints of soapiness. Not as obsessed as I thought this would be. It faded quickly but it honestly brightened up my mood. Above was my initial reaction to Gobo. I have now given him time to settle. In bottle he is the same but on he has changed! No more soapiness hello creamy delightful amazing orange. it smells like everything is right in the world. With time I believe Gobo is going to make me very happy.

    Samhain

Personally, Samhain 2016 has the best throw and staying power out of all my BPAL collection. I, like some on here, am wary of patchouli but in this blend it is delightful. It's definitely not what I'm used to. I would like to try something else with black patchouli in the future. On me this is very sexy and sweet. Everything works so harmoniously together. This would for sure be my go to scent for a night out.

    Nibble Nibble Gnaw

In the bottle this is pure boozy chocolate chocolate chip pancakes. Delicious, ultra amazing, the kind you want to eat until you can't anymore. On it changes and apple peeks forward but the warm chocolate remains. Smells like a warm halloween/christmas kitchen. It doesn't go sour or plastic. A perfect representation of a candy house I would be tempted into. That being said I would never wear this. It's very country store oil burner type of scent.

    The Sea Foams Blood

As my baby sister lovingly put it "thats an old woman's perfume". In the bottle I can see a wave crushing down on me. On it's totally soapy aquatic. It's not my cup of tea.

    The Inn Atmosphere Spray

Totally artificial peanut butter dipped bananas. For a moment it smelled like opening up a variety pack of halloween candy but the banana is so strong. If banana runts are your thing you may like your room to smell like this For me I had to open a window because I despise artificial banana.

    Eclipse

Oh no no no. I love the scent of almonds, adore it in fact. I love anything almond. In bottle this is pure almonds. On, however something sinister happens. Here's the rub. I get motion sickness fairly easily, and planes are no exception. And now that churning in my belly has forever been associated with the scent of airplane bathroom soap. This is airplane bathroom soap on. That blend of cherry almond oh gosh. I felt queasy just sitting on the couch with this on. I washed it off but this guy stuck around just enough for me to pick up on it throughout the day. I can't seem to see past the fact that this scent makes me physically ill. I really thought I would love this too!

Once an order is placed, it is final.

Relatively small goof, but on my last order I accidentally ordered two How Doth the Little Crocodile imps. I emailed the Lab and a note was put on my order to cancel one and receive a partial refund once my order ships. It hasn't yet, but I am very pleased by how helpful customer service was.

    Mouse Circus

In the bottle I was instantly wary. It is insanely Trix cereal. Like 100% Trix cereal to me. Unluckily I never liked Trix cereal. On wet, it remained the same. Thank goodness on the dry down it mellowed out. I am very confused by this fragrance. I assume what I smell may be the popcorn but I have no other popcorn blend to compare it to. I wanted to love it more because the mouse circus scene is so gorgeous. However I don't think I'll be keeping it. The throw and lasting power is also pretty weak.

    TKO

This was my first full size BPAL purchase. I love lavender and I felt pretty safe without sampling a decant. In the Bottle this is an intoxicating blend of Lavender. Sharper when wet, yet the creamy vanilla note is still very noticeable. On my skin it is just as delicious. The vanilla/tonka note is amplified. It also picks up a bit of spiciness that makes the lavender insanely good. That must be the other note people were speculating was eucalyptus. I can't identify it. I genuinely can't believe how much this perfume exceeded my expectations. I did not purchase it to assist with sleep, simply as a daily perfume. Yet, I still find myself applying it at night just because it calms me and makes me feel like I'm laying on a lavender sugared cloud. My husband has insomnia and when I get back to Japan I can't wait to make TKO his best friend. My one qualm would be that the throw is just average. I want to only smell this from now on.
  23. Ex-Lush employee here and I wanted to say to my nose TKO is 100% better than Lush Twilight. And I picked up a bottle because Twilight is one of my favorite lush scents!

    I've never found a scent I liked!

I picked up a bottle of mouse circus on eBay just because the art on the front is so adorable. Coraline is one of my favorite movies, I hope I love the scent. Dorian and Sugar Skull are the other ones I am going to try and find. I also just got my order in and TKO is everything and I like Jack as well though it is very peachy on me. I also purchased Gobo and Nibble nibble gnaw. I'm a little worried about the apple but it was described as "candied".
