Bias: 'Bloodlust' is my favorite word. It's not weird. In the imp: Smells like a haunted house! Or vetiver's haunted forest. On skin: Sharp spicy red musk. Later: Morph to vetiver smokiness and weird, sticky sweetness. There's something foul about the sweetness from the dragon's blood, but that's exactly what I want from this blend! Ha! This is the part where you eat your enemies. Fading: A bit of musk, vetiver, and cinnamon. Clean, warm and pleasant. I don't get the patchouli and thats a good thing. What I love about vetiver is how it's earthy but still clean smelling. A blend which smells both foul and clean. I don't know if that makes sense but it smells good. I'm glad I grew to like this one. It makes me feel like a badass.

In the bottle: A very heady bouquet of sweetness harmonizing with tartness, a light floral lavender, and then the hit of clarifying, dizzying electricity??? This is the BPAL scent which I think smells the best in the imp. So good! A few hours later: The scent is pink with a bit of purple and creamy and glowing with white light! The current is sweet, sweet, sweet and a light musk spiciness comes out. I cannot pick out the resin, but I'm sure it contributes to the glowing sweetness. A white amber??? A lovely, ethereal scent. Evocative of love and comfort. A kiss from a guardian angel? The mere mention of currents makes me nostalgic for my mother's Moroccan chicken. I don't wear it out of the house as much, but I especially appreciate it before bed.

There is nothing I don't like about this scent. In the bottle it smells... graveyard-spooky. That's the vetiver. When I first got it in the mail it seemed too...harsh, weird, or metallic. It was biting my nose. I picked it up again a week later and was amazed at the richness of it, being strangely luxurious, and also grounded in earth. The image in my head was of victorian London, where an austere, mysterious woman in black velvet is going to see an opera performed by skeletons! Sweet smoke wafts up to balcony where she sits, peering down at the stage through opera glasses. I also get a very comforting, quieting feeling from the smell that floats on my skin after several hours of wear. It lasts a long time for me and I smell like incense all day! Completely delightful! Its color is warm, dark burgundy.
