If you love woody scents but don't want them too sharp, you need to try this.

A lovely complex blend that can work as unisex. Top notes are definitely all the woods, but the beeswax and honey smooth them out.

  2. As a huge frankincense fan i dont know why its taken me this long to get this one. In fact, it was part of a blind bottle swap. This is sooo good if you are a resin fan. Reminds me of going to midnight mass with my catholic best friend in high school. Pure, holy and reminiscent of walking out of church into the cold Christmas eve night air feeling blessed.

  3. I LOVE this! I can pick out the vanilla musk, tuberose, plum nectar and apple blossom. The rest blends together to make everythingseamless. This is a light, more innocent Witch Queen (Witch Princess?). Long lasting, gorgeous throw. This is definitly my main summer scent for the year!

  4. This starts out with the apple/ floral blast of chamomile. I find chamomile soothing so this doesnt phase me. On drying down the vanillas come out and seamlessly blend with the chamomile becoming a soft floral vanilla. This is one of my "keep by the bed" bottles because it helps sooth me to sleep if im anxious.

  5. Hail unto Thee who art Ahathoor in Thy triumphing, even unto Thee who art Ahathoor in Thy beauty, who travellest over the heavens in thy bark at the Mid-course of the Sun. Tahuti standeth in His splendour at the prow, and Ra-Hoor abideth at the helm. Hail unto Thee from the Abodes of Morning!

I want spicy resins too!!! I get.....bandaids? Not for me. :-(

  6. I have recently realized that a large portion of my collection is very rose heavy. I decided to list the main perfumes with rose (not including the oils where rose plays a minor role.)

Queen Venus in a Hood Striped Gold and Black- rose and the most amazing fossilized amber. The dry down on this is exquisit.

The Expiration- myrrh and a very lush, decadent rose.

Om Gan Ganapaytaye Namaha- Frankincense, sandalwood, rose and clary sage. This one comes across as very "bright" to me.

Spooky Action at a Distance- rose and sandalwood. Starts off mostly rose and a spark of elemi and dries down to a lovely rose sandalwood cloud.

Zombi-dried roses and dirt. That pretty much says it all

Ossa Arida-Probably my favorite rose/resin combo. Light rose, frankincense, amber,sandalwood....just a gorgeous combo!

Wildfire-roses and burning woods? This does not play well on my skin. It must go.

I have other oils where rose is a more minor player.

  7. Wet: KAPOW!!!ROSE! and ELEMI! Very bright fresh rose.

Drying down: the resins creep out . Still very rose. Its like smelling a rose at a floral shop, damp, fresh and with fresh cut greenery around it.

Dry: A little more complex and peppery but rose is the star of this show from start to finish.

Good thing I like rose :-D

  8. It’s always a bit weird with family. A scant two-hundred years old, there doesn’t seem to be anything that roots Ava to her past. Her scent is utterly contemporary, and, like her personality, it is impulsive, capricious, and dangerous. Voluptuous and brittle, lovely and toxic: sheer vanilla musk with tuberose, red mandarin, and the sweet poison of white almond.

I agree with the above review. The first time I wore this I thought "Flowerbomb". But Ava is so much better! Eye rolling to the back of ones head better. Yes, she is capricious and contemporary but orgasmic just the same.

  9. Good Lord! This is stunning! I agree with a previous poster that it seems to have a decadent tobacco note. What i think is probably happening is the chocolate, brown sugar and anise are blending so well together it comes across as tobacco. I usually cant wear blends with anise but this is so smokey sweet and spicy it is perfect. The gingers add a zing and the other spices and herbs add complexity. All praise Beth for her masterful blending skills!

  10. This is probably the best rose scent I've tried. I love Queen Venus with a Hood Striped Black and Gold but even in that blend the rose comes across sharp. In The Expiration the rose is deep dark and rounded. Gorgeous and well blended with the other notes into a seamless whole.

  11. The White Witch reminds me of Crypt Queen (pomegranate, patchouli and rose) only much more light and wearable. .The black pepper and blood accord in Crypt Queen didn't

work too well for me so I'm glad that White Witch is a lovely resinous pomegranate I will be happy to wear.

Edit....on aging the red musk and amber take over with the pomegranate adding sweetness. A lovely, spicy blend.

  12. Burnt plastic. :-( And I had such high hopes.

Update: After settling for several days this suddenly became a wearable melty vanilla. It still veers towardsplastic on occasion but I can usually wear it. Works well as a layering scent.
