    Thaleia

In the bottle: Orange, right off the bat. Perhaps slightly floral, like an orange blossom, tempered with ylang ylang and apricot. Very sweet, light, and just a touch floral, which must be the gardenia. A sparkling spring scent that is clean and a bit citrus-tangy. Wet: Honey deepens and blends the fruity floral. Smells like a fruity Yankee Candle… not sure which one. Still orangey, but the gardenia comes through strongly, tempered with a slightly sticky sweet apricot. Dry: Strong gardenia scent now, underlined with apricot and orange. Very sweet. Later: Gardenia still going strong, other tones have mixed with it. Impression: Very light, ephemeral, breezy, but not an air or earthy smell: firmly floral. Fitting for a muse. Feminine and springy. Makes me want to wear a white flowing dress and dance about in the woods with nymphs. Buy: Yes. Feminine and appropriate for spring.

    Bastet

In the bottle: Definitely sweet. Something almost bubblegummy. You guys say there's a cherry almond note and on second sniff, I agree. Wet: Less bubblegum, still sweet and deep. I can smell the amber that has been described by many people and there is still the almond smell lurking. Dry: Very subtle musk that is definitely twined around that amber smell. Suddenly aquires a smell that does not agree with me. I can’t describe why. Enhances my natural scent in a way I don’t enjoy. Almond still faintly there, but morphed and mixed. Later: Almond, amber, sweet, deep. Impression: Reminds me of sun, bright and a touch spicy. Sweeter than I’d expect. Buy: No. A bit off on my skin.

    Cathedral

In the bottle: Strongly incensey, smokey, maybe just a touch dusty. Wet: A little eucalyptus with an unburned incense scent (less smokey). No more dust scent. Dry: Still ecucalyptus with a faint sweet incense, maybe like an old cedar box. Later: Still about the same. Softens and sweetens on me, but the incense keeps it from smelling too sweet. Strong cedar undertone. Impression: A lot like Antisally’s Heathen, too eucalyptusy and incensey to wear at first, but a definite rendition of a cathedral. Wears nicely on my skin after awhile and seems to meld with my natural scent, but not a scent I generally wear. Still too cedary/ecualyptusy. Buy: No. I just don't like too many incensey smells on me.

    Jailbait

In the bottle: Bubblegum! Bazooka Joe bubblegum. A slight hint of cherry lollipops. Wet: Darker, sweeter, more cherry than Bazooka bubblegum. Yes, now more of a cherry lolly with a bubblegum center. Dry: After the initial candy stage, the smell mellows to a cinnamon reminiscent of hot red heart candies, mixed with the bubble gum and cherry. Now becomes less of a little girl scent and more sensual. Still tasty and candy sweet, but also a bit spicy. Later: It’s mellowed out to something I have a hard time defining. Still sugary sweet, slightly cinnamony, an undertone of bubblegum, and a strong base of cherry. Perhaps there’s the hint of orange described on the site. More complex than the initial sniff would suggest. Impression: Benefits greatly from maturing on the skin. Sweet, spicy, sexy, and exactly what jailbait should smell like. Buy: Yes. I love the idea of “jailbait” in general, and playing off the innocence factor. People should smell me, say, “Oh, you smell good… like candy!” And then do a double take. Out of the first six BPAL fragrances I've sampled, I think this is my favorite! I adore it.

    Blood Kiss

In the bottle: Vanilla-y honey, sweet, metallic bloody aftertaste with a touch of clove, disturbing and dizzying like sugared blood. Wet: Way more vanilla and some woody notes. Metallic tang mellows out, along with clove bite. Much more smooth and sugary sweet, instead of honey-sweet. Dry: Vanilla tones down a bit and the woody notes almost disappear to let clove take on the supporting role. Still that hint of tang that lingers in the back of the throat that lets you know this is no innocent sweet scent. Later: Definite vanilla and clove, with that smear of honey. No cherries here, but still a faint woody note and that discombobulating tang. Impression: Absolutely, one hundred percent, reminds me of blood. It is spicy-sweet blood. Favorite scent of a very feminine, seductive vampiress. Buy: No, it doesn't smell quite right on me.

    Absinthe

In the bottle: Minty, green, medicinal. Wet: Limey (not lemon!) citrus, touch of mint, still very green, touch of sickly licorice. Dry: Almost a single-note licorice, not deep but light perhaps due to the lime. Later: Still a light licorice. Impression: Sickly, licorice. Smell like Absinthe? Hell, yes. Buy: No, but it's cool to smell it. It's worth an imp's ear just for the experience.
